The wolf tilted its head in confusion at the sudden question but wasted no time sharing its name. "I was given the name 'Dahdin' by the former pack leader during the naming ceremony," Dahdin said as he lay on the grass. "You don't need to know more." Lucia liked his name, although she didn't understand its meaning. But since the wolf had introduced himself, she felt it was only fair to do the same. Lucia brightened as she introduced herself. "My name is Lucia. You'll learn more about me sooner or later."
"I have a feeling I might, Lucia. Let's continue experimenting with that distortion now since you seem calmer," Dahdin paused, looking at Lucia before changing his words. "Or rather, completely consumed in your imagination." It seemed Lucia was in her world, overly excited since someone said her name.
Lucia felt a sense of completion at the wolf's, no, Dahdin's acknowledgment. It was a feeling different from gaining a name from Aleshia. Being given a name felt exceptional, but someone saying your name felt even more special. To Lucia, a name was a special kind of magic. It singled out and made something special.
Lucia's daydream ended as quickly as it had begun. She searched through her memory to see if Dahdin had said anything during her inactivity, and it seemed he did. Lucia pondered what she would do as retribution for the slight dig at her at the end, but she chose not to dwell on it. She agreed with his initial statement and saw no reason to prolong the discussion. Given the importance of the situation, Lucia decided to continue working on what they had been doing. "Dahdin, let's continue experimenting on the distortion."

"Yes, fill the distortions up with the so-called energy blades." Lucia off-handedly remarked, not thinking much of it. "I think that idea might just work. Let's start preparing right away." Dahdin acknowledged.
Dahdin and Lucia began preparing the energy highway, directing it toward the nearest distortion. Once it was all confirmed, they initiated the launch with a countdown. "3...2...1..."
