The Wealthy Noble’s Poor Commoner

Chapter 5: Aurelia’s Motivation

It was quiet for a moment it seemed like no one wanted to leave, then the boy from the back he just walked on out. The students whispered among themselves, a noble girl stood up, and strutted towards the door before stopping.

"If we all give up so easily then what was it worth coming to this school for!"

She said standing in front of the door and turning around to all of the students.

"Who's gonna be the next coward like the long mouthed fool who just left? If you really have nobility's blood then such an exam shouldn't be so daunting."

Her voice was smooth, and rich, one that held much passion, and authority.

"Ah lady Aurelia, such an amazing speaker just like her father." Albert gazed at her as if she was worth more than gold.

'Well she sure does fit the theme of a motivational speaker.' Thomas thought with curiousity.

"Settle down Ms Aurelia." Mr Henry sighed.

Thomas thought to himself. 'Some students seem a bit at ease after what Ms Aurelia said. They are nobles, so it's most certainly they've had better education. Most of us commoners who are able to attend St George's weren't privileged with that luxury, so why fret over such matters?'

Some students who weren't as relieved as the others looked skeptical then got up and exited the class. The class had started with 40 attending students and now had a total of 28 as a remainder.

Lionel spoke up in an almost mocking tone, and a smile plastered on his face. "Very well, those who wish to stay will now be given their supplementary exam, what you've learned before you've entered this school better come in handy, otherwise may God, be with you." He the turned to Mr Henry "I shall take my leave."

Mr Henry nodded in agreement, probably just wanting Lionel to go so the students wouldn't feel as provoked as they were now. Lionel left but the silence was intense. The tapping of multiple students feet could be heard. Probably out of nervousness, or maybe regret for not leaving earlier when they had the chance.

The papers were soon given out and Mr Henry began to speak pulling everyone's attention towards him. "Please I ask that you read each question carefully, and use proper grammar, and correct spelling. Use any available time to re-read over your work carefully, and extra papers used are to be labeled in the correct order. You have approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete your exam, you may begin."

Immediately, the ones who weren't as nervous answered quickly, and sufficiently. Thomas looked at the paper and was delighted to see that most of the question were from the old paper he had gotten off of the ground due to that angry noble. He quickly began answer the questions down.

'This is so easy, then again I can't really say that, because I studied last year's supplementary exam but they don't need to know that. He smiled. 'And if they were to know i would probably be kicked out.'

Most of the students were sweating their butts off trying to answer the difficult questions. Even if they wanted to cheat they couldn't, because Mr Henry watched them like a hawk. But they were fine for now because the first few questions focused on the school and weren't very hard to answer but the very last few were more advanced and harder to answer.
