The Walking Dead: reborn as Carl

Chapter 179: Chapter 182: Soliloquy

The Governor sat back in his seat and rubbed his cheeks, patting them gently in an attempt to calm himself down.

It seemed to have some effect. I shook my head and temporarily put aside all the messy things in my mind that could affect my emotions.

Looking at Carl, looking straight at Carl, the Governor looked at Carl with the calmest attitude he could right now. The Governor wanted to look into Carl's eyes.

The Governor found it hard to trust Carl, not because he didn't trust him, but because of this matter.

It's like the "guillotine" magic, where someone chops off his own head in front of you, still talking, and then it's restored again.

Would a normal person think that he really chopped off his head?

No, it won't. You will find it magical, but you will definitely think that there must be some mystery behind it, rather than it being a real beheading.

Even if he chops off his head in front of you again and again, and even lets you check the props.

Can you believe it then?

No, it's impossible. Fixed cognition is not so easy to break.

Unless, you pull the "magician" off the stage, go to the supermarket to buy a kitchen knife, and chop off the "magician's" head. If the "magician" can still speak, he can recover.

Then the Governor might be willing to believe that there really is someone who can remove his head from his body and still live.

And now, Carl in front of him, even if what he is doing is not as good as this "guillotine" magic, how much worse is it?

A normal person would take such careful care of a zombie that he would not only not feel scared, but would even seem to have a vague feeling of morbid "love" for it.

In this situation, which one is more unacceptable than the "guillotine"?

From a normal person's perspective, they are probably the same.

However, the Governor would find it more acceptable than the guillotine.

But it still feels so unreal.

But the governor does not think this is fake, and it should not be fake. If it is fake, the governor will think it is more outrageous than the truth.

How could a child not reveal any flaws? Besides, "Penny" was really different, very different.

The Governor didn't know how much truth there was in what Carl said.

But the more the Governor thought about it, the more certain he became that, whether or not "Penny" was originally like this.

But at least it is Carl's existence that makes "Penny" so different. Even if it has always been like this, at least it was Carl who discovered it.

The Governor's head was already a little dizzy; he had drunk too much, and in a hurry.

But it was precisely this drowsy state, as if half asleep and half awake, that made the Governor feel that he had regained his unprecedented calmness.

"Why? Why can you do better than me? I am Penny's father, and what about you? How long have you known Penny? Why can you be so nice to her? Why aren't you afraid of her? You even seem to have fallen in love with Penny.

Damn it! Damn it, it's really a damn thing, damn this world, it's really crazy, hehe…"

The Governor smiled, but his eyes were still fixed on Carl's.

Karl was stunned for a moment, his eyes dodging, he lowered his head with a blush, and said softly, "Because, because Penny is very cute, she is very well-behaved, and..."

"And what?" The Governor was still leaning on the table looking at Carl.

"And sir, ever since you sent me in here, especially that day when you kicked me, it hurt so much that I thought I was going to die.

That night, no, I don't know if it was night, I was crying, I was crying very sadly, I was very scared, I didn't want to die like this.

It was Penny who comforted me. Well, Penny was comforting me. Since that day, I found that I seemed to understand what Penny said.

Sir, I'm not kidding. I know you must think I'm crazy, but I'm not. I can really hear what Penny says, and I can feel all of Penny's joys and sorrows.

Penny is really cute and kind, sir. Although I shouldn't say this to you, I really seem to have fallen in love with Penny. I will definitely take better care of Penny in the future. Please don't worry, sir."

Carl smiled shyly, and suddenly realized that the governor lying on the table still had his eyes closed.

Karl was stunned for a moment, then he called softly, "Sir, are you okay?"

no respond.

"Are you asleep?" Carl walked over and patted him with some confusion.

Still no response.

Karl smiled helplessly, thought about it, turned back to the room, closed the door gently, and walked to the bed.

Looking at Penny, Carl couldn't help but reach out and rub Penny's head, then he smiled.

"Penny, your father feels guilty, but he does love you. I can see that."

"Well, Penny, are you going to go check on your father? He's asleep."

"Well, forget it. You don't like the sun. Come on, Penny, move aside. I'll get a blanket to cover him. After all, he is your father. I can't let him catch a cold."

"Damn it, Penny, I didn't, I didn't try to please him, after all she is your father."

"Well, okay, if there is, there is, as long as he doesn't break us up."

Carl kissed Penny gently on the forehead, waved to her, and went out with a quilt in his arms. However, when he opened the door, he was stunned.

There was no one behind the table, and Karl sighed helplessly, "Sir, you are so despicable. You actually pretended to sleep."

There was no one outside the room, so Carl closed the door, returned to Penny, and put the quilt back on the bed.

He rubbed Penny's head and continued to talk to himself with relish.

"Penny, now your father seems to have accepted that he doesn't need to restrain you anymore. Are you happy?""Ahem, there's only one bed here, Penny, you won't mind, will you?"

"Penny, your father seems to have forgotten to bring us lunch, what should we do? Are you hungry?"

"Penny, be good, okay? We can bear with it. Maybe I can go run you a bath, and then we can go to bed. As long as we fall asleep, we won't be hungry."

"Ah? You don't want to wash your feet? Then wash your feet, okay? Don't worry, I won't tickle your feet this time."

"Really, I promise!"

Carl stood up and walked towards the bathroom, but was slightly stunned. "Penny" did not follow him. Why didn't "Penny" follow him?

That's not right. How could "Penny" catch up by herself?

Karl's face darkened a little, he shook his head heavily, and walked into the bathroom.

He was supposed to bring "Penny" to wash her feet, but "Penny" didn't come. But for some reason, Carl still walked into the bathroom as if by instinct.

Coming to the sink, Karl had no idea why he came here, it seemed like an instinct.

Carl forgot to turn on the light, but there was a vent in the bathroom, which was small but allowed some thin indirect light to enter.

Carl looked at the mirror in front of him. It was very dark and he could only see a rough outline. But just that rough outline made Carl feel extremely unfamiliar for some reason.

"Beth, Beth..." Carl murmured a name that was equally unfamiliar.

Why do I have this name? Who is the owner of this name?

Karl didn't know, but even if he wanted to scream for no reason, it was as if he couldn't control his mouth.

"Beth, Beth..."
