The Walking Dead: reborn as Carl

Chapter 158: Chapter 161 Clues

"You little brat, you better not die, or else no one will argue with Master Moore in the future."

Moore stopped the pickup truck at the entrance to the town.

The sky was beginning to darken, and the noise of cars would be more obvious at night. Moore knew that there were many zombies in this town, and he couldn't let them get excited again.

Taking a deep breath, Moore subconsciously reached for the cigarette box, but stopped and checked his equipment, including the flashlight, pistol and dagger. There was no need to bring a rifle.

He opened the car door, got out, spat out a mouthful of thick phlegm with some blood, and shook his head.

"Damn you, Sean, you're so ruthless."

He threw the dagger, walked closer, pulled it out, rubbed it casually on the corpse's clothes, and then walked into the town.

"Moir, wait, you need to calm down, you really need to, you can't do this."

Daryl grabbed More and hurried over to catch up with him. It was not too late and Daryl breathed a sigh of relief.

Moore broke free, turned around and roared, "I have to find Carl!"

Daryl raised his hands and pressed them down slightly, trying to ease Moore's emotions:

"Hey, I know. I'll help you. I also want to find Carl, but you can't be impulsive, Moore. That will put you in trouble. We have to plan for the long term."

"So, what's your plan? My stupid brother." Moore would only try so hard to suppress his anger when facing Daryl.

"We can go to the clothing store to look for clues about Carl. Maybe Carl is waiting for us in a room, but we have to sneak over there carefully and not alert too many zombies." Daryl said.

"Nonsense, I thought you had some plan. If I don't sneak in, am I going to rush into the horde of zombies and kill them?" Moore turned and left.

"Hey, wait a minute." Daryl hurriedly followed, "Moir, have you forgotten the group of people who attacked us this afternoon? The threat here is not just the zombies. The lurking I mentioned is not only against the zombies, but also the gunmen who may be in the dark."

"Who are that group of people? How many people are there? How strong are they? Why did they attack you?" Moore asked as he walked into the town.

Daryl picked up the crossbow and followed Mor, observing the surroundings vigilantly while speaking softly;

"I don't know who they are. There aren't that many of them, less than ten, but there are a few good ones with good marksmanship and awareness. I only killed one of them."

"Oh, damn it, you didn't kill them first, did you?" Moore laughed.

"Yeah." Daryl just nodded lightly.

"Brother, it's not your character to cause trouble."

"It's better to strike first. I can see that most of those people are not good people, but I didn't expect them to shoot directly."

"Damn it, you have a crossbow, but they are waiting for you to call out their names one by one without shooting? Are they afraid of a hammer? I don't believe they haven't left after such a big zombie riot this afternoon. Even if they haven't left, I can break their necks one by one.

It's because of them that little Karl and I got separated. If I can't find little Karl, I swear I'll find them and chop them into pieces!"

"We will find it. We will definitely find Carl."

"Yes, I will."

Moore rarely put away his frivolous expression.

"We're almost there, be careful." Daryl said softly.

Moore nodded and involuntarily quickened his pace. Soon, the clothing store came into view. Without hesitation, Moore walked straight in.

"Hey, be careful." Daryl frowned slightly and quickly followed with a crossbow.

"Fuck." Moore used a dagger to kill a zombie that pounced on him.

There were some zombies in the clothing store, but not many. Moore ignored them and walked towards the children's clothing area, waiting for the zombies to pounce on him before using a dagger to kill them.

Daryl shot a crossbow arrow from behind to kill the zombies in the distance.

The zombies on the first floor of the clothing store were quickly dealt with. Since the riot, except for the zombies that were already in the clothing store, no other zombies would come in.

Moore was in the children's clothing section, staring at the almost full suitcase in a daze. He walked closer, stuffed a few nearby clothes into it, covered it, and zipped it up.

Maybe he should take it back with him, otherwise if he finds that brat, he will have to go out and look for clothes again. But after what happened, Moore will not allow him to leave the camp again.

But all this is based on the premise that Moore finds Carl.

"More, come here quickly." Daryl's voice came neither light nor heavy.

Moore hurried to the stairs to the first floor.

Daryl looked at the bodies on the ground and said, "They were shot and killed from inside. There are no one of ours on the second floor, so there is only one possibility."

"Fuck, what the hell are you waiting for?" Moore pushed Daryl away and walked straight up the stairs.

"Hey, More, be careful." Daryl hurriedly followed.

More, who was walking in front, was the first to see the broken wooden door at the entrance of the stairs on the second floor. More's heart skipped a beat and he was a little afraid to go in.

"More, let's go, no matter what, we have to go and take a look." Daryl said softly.

"Yes!" Moore nodded, pulled out two daggers, and walked in quickly.

"Uh uh uh..."

There were more than ten zombies on the second floor. I don't know if it was because of the sound or the smell, but they were attracted to Moore at the same time.

"Damn it, all of you go to hell." Moore rushed forward with two daggers in his hands.

"More!" Daryl quickly shot a crossbow arrow, then threw down the crossbow and rushed up to help.

Moore was much weaker than he had been in the afternoon, but in his rage, he could handle dozens more, let alone these dozen or so, not to mention Daryl.

Either kill them all or be bitten to death one by one. No matter what, will Moore be afraid?

Then, all the zombies lay on the ground. Moore looked at the corpses on the ground in a daze and turned off the flashlight.

Daryl sighed and began to search the second floor. There were no fresh bodies or children's bodies on the second floor. This was good news.

It didn't take long for Daryl to find the small room. He tried to push the door, but it didn't open. Daryl's eyes lit up, and he knocked on the door gently and called out, "Carl? Are you in there?"

There was no response. Moore didn't want to endure this torment any longer. No matter what the result was, it should be revealed soon.

"Damn it, get out of the way!" Moore pulled Daryl away, took a run-up, and used his body to push the door open.

The flashlight scanned the room impatiently, and it was clear that Carl was not here. Moore punched the wall hard.

"He's been here before. He used zombie flesh to trick the zombies outside." Daryl noticed the blood foam and bloodstains on the ground, and then Daryl walked to the open window with the curtains still tied outside the window.

"Carl is still alive. He left here through the window, probably because of lack of food and water."

Moore looked at the few uncleanly shaved zombie limbs on the ground and couldn't help but raise his eyebrows slightly, "He's a brave boy."

"Very smart. Let's go. We can find him, we will." Daryl said confidently.

"Of course." Moore nodded.

Back on the first floor, Moore carried two suitcases full of clothes to the door. Perhaps he should wait until he found Carl before taking them away.
