The Walking Dead: reborn as Carl

Chapter 115: Chapter 118 Continuation

There was a lump of snow, and on top of it was a smaller lump. The smaller lump could barely be seen as an irregular, or not very tight, circle.

The smaller one on top was stuck with a few branches.

Well, Carl didn't think it was a snowman, it didn't look like one at all.

Carl and Beth had no experience and no tools, so it was not easy for them to stack it up.

"Damn, it seems I don't have any talent for this." Beth said somewhat dissatisfiedly as she looked at the snowman in front of her that didn't look like a snowman.

"It looks pretty good. It's not bad for the first time." Carl said sincerely.

Carl and Beth worked together to build this snowman. If it was just Beth, it wouldn't be so easy to build the snow together.

"Good vision!" Beth gave Carl a thumbs up and then smiled, "Carl, are you going back? It's getting dark."

"Well, let's go. By the way, wait, I want to go to the stable to see Bucephalus." Carl said.

"Then let me go with you, Bucephalus? I seem to have heard this name before. I'm not talking about here, but I seem to have heard it somewhere else." Beth rolled her eyes in confusion, but couldn't remember it.

Karl smiled, then moved the wound on his face and couldn't help but make a grinning expression.

"Damn it, Carl, stop laughing. At least don't laugh until the scars on your face heal." Beth walked up to Carl and gently rubbed his cheek.

"I can't help it. It always makes me happy to be with you."

"Then it seems you should stay away from me for a while." Beth smiled.

"No, absolutely not. It doesn't hurt that much. Or I can control my smile." Carl said helplessly.

"Okay, what were you trying to say?"

Beth followed Carl to the stable. Carl skillfully opened the bolt outside the stable and took Beth through the hay-covered corridor to the innermost fence.

Bucephalus was lying lazily against the wall. When he saw Carl, he raised his head slightly, saw Carl's empty hand, and then put his head back.

Carl waved to Bucephalus and then said to Beth,

"I was going to talk about the name Bucephalus. This is the name of Alexander the Great's mount. Maybe your history book mentioned it, so you have an impression of it."

"Damn, maybe I forgot. You know, history is always so boring." Beth spread her hands helplessly.

"Well, let's go. It seems Bucephalus doesn't need my visit."

Karl reluctantly withdrew his outstretched hand. Well, he had put his hand in for a long time, but Bucephalus didn't give him any face at all.

Leave the stable with Beth and close the door behind you.

The sky outside has become a little dim, and there is no sunset today. This may be the only regret.

"I'm sorry, Beth, I didn't let you have enough fun today," Carl apologized.

"Carl, I'm already very happy. Okay, let's go back, otherwise Maggie and father will come out to look for us soon." Beth stretched out her hand.

Carl was stunned for a moment, then he grabbed Beth's hand and slowly walked towards the small building.

The sun, which had barely appeared today, was about to set, but it suddenly broke free from the clouds.

A ray of golden sunlight shines through the clouds, falls onto the earth, and illuminates the people on the earth.

The afterglow of the setting sun made Beth's profile appear somewhat dazzling, as if it was not the afterglow that was shining, but Beth.

Carl was stunned for a moment.

Beth was looking at the beautiful scenery where the afterglow fell on the snow and then reflected in the clouds, and the sky and the earth were the same color.

Some people look at the scenery, while others look at the people who look at the scenery.

But people who come to see the scenery don't just look at the scenery.

There won't be a situation like, "That day when we were watching the snow, I never looked at the snow and you never looked at me." Only a two-way relationship is meaningful.

"Why are you staring at me again?" Beth turned around and smiled.

"Just like you like to look at beautiful things, I am no exception." Carl smiled, and even though his face still hurt a little, he still showed a complete smile.

"Stop being so mean, Carl, and let's go."

"Um."

The door was left open, and Beth let go of Carl's hand and pushed it open.

"You finally came back." Maggie had been sitting behind the dining table waiting, "I'm waiting for you. Beth, go call dad. Carl, call Otis and Jimmy. It's time to prepare dinner."

"OK."

Carl knew Otis' room. Otis and Patricia also lived there. Hershel's house was not small and could accommodate them.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor. The larger one belongs to Otis and his wife, Jimmy has one, and the other one is unused, which was used by Glenn at the beginning.

There are also three rooms on the second floor, one for each member of Hershel's family. The third floor is an attic, usually used to store miscellaneous items.

Carl called Otis and Jimmy over. When facing Jimmy, there was no difference and he treated him normally, as if nothing had happened in the afternoon.

Hershel took the first seat, and Carl was called by Hershel to sit in the first seat on his left. Beth was on Carl's right.

Maggie and Patricia worked together to bring a roasting tray. On the tray was a whole turkey, roasted golden, with a bulging belly, and it was very big.

Hershel smiled at Carl and said, "I don't have many, but besides this one, I also gave one to Sean and the others. After all, it is an indispensable thing for Christmas Eve."

"I thank you for your generosity on behalf of Sean." Carl nodded slightly.

"Haha, no need. Sean has already thanked him." Hershel nodded slightly to Maggie.

Maggie took out a knife and began to cut the turkey and put it on plates, while Patricia placed the plates in front of everyone.

"Carl, you should eat more." Hershel smiled.

"Thank you." Carl nodded.

"Compared to last year's Christmas Eve, there are a lot more people this year. Haha, it's quite lively." Hershel smiled, then suddenly thought of something and stopped smiling.

In previous years, only Hershel and his two daughters would be there. Otis was his employee and would usually go home for Christmas, but now, obviously he couldn't go back.

Carl ate the turkey silently. Overall, the taste was very good, but it lacked some fat and was a bit dry.

Carl didn't speak while eating, but he would occasionally glance at Beth.

Beth noticed Carl's eyes and smiled.

After dinner,

Hershel's study.

According to tradition, at this time, the whole family should gather around the fireplace, chat and enjoy the warmth of family love.

But this is Georgia, and Hershel never built the house with the idea that a fireplace would be needed.

Hershel sat behind the desk and Carl stood. It was because he had just finished his meal and standing helped him digest faster.

Hershel looked at Carl for a long time, and Carl could see from Hershel's eyes that Hershel had a lot to say.

But in the end, Hershel just said one sentence.

"The snow season will probably last for a while. You are still very young and can't stand the cold California winter in a tent. You should move in here."
