The Villain Is Destined to Die: But as the Creator, I know All Endings

Chapter 117: Funeral [PS Bonus Chapter]

Blood Tower, top floor, Teleportation room.

ZOOOP—!

White light scattered from the teleportation platform as two figures appeared on it.

Myra lifted her head toward Leon.

His face was calm, way too calm. His golden eyes were cold, his lips dull, and his expression carried no clear emotion. But something in the air around him told that he was not good at all.

The way his gaze stayed fixed ahead and the way he didn't blink or move unnecessarily said everything.

He wasn't grieving, but anyone could tell he was angry.

Leon stepped down from the platform first.

"Young master…?" Myra called softly.

"..."

He didn't respond.

Since the moment he picked up that skeleton, Leon hadn't said a single word to her.

Myra adjusted the grip on the white sword in her hand and followed behind him.

Leon was heading straight for the corridor that led to Lady Veronica's office, still holding the skeleton in his arms as if he didn't care who saw him.

'Ah, this is not good,' Myra thought.

It was still past noon, and at this time, the maids would be on each floor cleaning.

If anyone saw him like this, carrying a corpse, it would leave a bad mark on their impression of him.

"Young master, wait!" Myra called out as she hurried after him. "You'll scare the maids."

Leon didn't react. He did not even glance at her.

'Why is he acting this way?' she thought, feeling the frustration build in her chest. She didn't like being ignored by him.

Leon opened the door and stepped out into the hallway.

His boots hit the wet floor, which had been wiped recently, and it created a sticky noise as he walked.

Step. Step.

Myra spotted two maids near the end of the corridor, wiping the floor.

'Not good.'

GROOOOM–!!

Lightning flashed outside the window. The rain poured down hard, hitting the glass of the tower.

'Great… even the weather isn't helping.' Myra sighed.

Leon paused for a second and looked out at the storm, then at the skeleton in his arms.

His expression didn't change. He simply kept his pace.

Myra couldn't figure out what was going through his head.

'Is he planning to show it to Lady Veronica?' she wondered.

"Ahh!"

A scream snapped her out of her thoughts.

The two maids had seen him.

Their eyes widened in shock as they quickly covered their noses from the stench of the skeleton.

Leon didn't stop.

One of the maids tried to speak through the panic in her voice.

"H-Hey, y-you can't g-go in…"

She froze when she noticed Myra walking behind him quietly in her maid uniform. Her voice died in her throat.

Myra bit her lower lip.

'This rumor will spread like wildfire,' she thought.

Leon stopped in front of the office door and turned his head slightly toward Myra.

Myra understood what that meant. He wants her to open the door.

"Master, please listen to—"

"Open," Leon said.

"…"

She hesitated, but the moment their eyes met, something pressed down on her mind.

Leon's eye glowed. And a strange feeling forced the words out of her mouth.

"Understood. Master."

It was [Command of Grace].

Leon had been using it on her the entire time. Her rank was high, so it cost him a bit of his eyesight, but the glasses on his face balanced out the vision.

Leon had no interest in arguing. All he wanted was to bring Lumina to a proper place. Thinking about how long she had been left in that state only fueled his anger more.

Myra stepped forward and pushed the door open.

Creak—!

The office door opened.

Unlike the last time, no scattered books and shelves were lying everywhere. Everything was neat and organized.

His eyes moved to the lounge area on the right.

Alice was sitting on the double-seater, facing the door, while Veronica sat on the opposite side with her back turned toward them, both holding books in their hands.

For a moment, Leon thought Alice had actually been behaving herself. He hoped she was.

Alice, noticing the sound of the door, raised her head lazily. She leaned a bit to the left to get a proper view of who it was. When her eyes landed on Leon's head, she clicked her tongue and muttered something he didn't catch.

She stood up, placed the book on the table, and walked toward the door.

"Why are you back so early? I still have… books… left…?"

The words died in her mouth.

Her steps halted, and her eyes went straight to what Leon was holding.

A rotting skeleton.

Alice frowned sharply and pinched her nose.

"Yuck… what is that?"

Behind Leon, Myra finally snapped out of the daze and stepped forward, entering the office with the sword in her hand.

Alice's eyes landed on the sword.

She stiffened slightly, recognizing the sword instantly.

"Moonblade…?" she muttered under her breath.

Her gaze slowly shifted from the sword to the skeleton in Leon's arms.

Her eyes widened.

"No, you… don't tell… me…" she whispered. "Miss… Lumina?"

Her voice trembled for a brief second.

By now, Veronica had turned her chair around to face them.

Her arms were crossed as she stared at her little brother.

She didn't look away from his face, not even for a second.

Veronica's lips pressed into a thin line. She bit the inside of her lips before speaking.

"Explain."

Leon took a slow breath before speaking and explained everything to her.

He told Veronica about the cave, about the Moonblade, and about the corpse lying on that old bed.

Veronica already knew why he had gone out. She was aware he was searching for the Moonblade, but she hadn't expected, not even in the slightest, that he would return with the skeleton of a legendary war hero in his arms.

"Are you sure it's her?" she asked after a moment.

Leon didn't hesitate and nodded. "Yes, sister."

'Strange…' Veronica thought.

The coordinates Leon had used had no records in their archives. She herself had searched them once, but nothing ever came up. If that place truly existed and had remained untouched by humans, then the corpse of the Swordmaiden was likely the only human to have ever lived there.

As a human, Veronica understood the weight of that name more than most.

Lady Lumina Elizabeth Dare. The Swordmaiden. The strongest of her time.

She had long ago revoked her noble status as a Dare and left her homeland in search of her lover. When she failed to find him, she joined the mercenary guild to collect information, and not long after, she was scouted by the King of Liora himself.

Her talent was overwhelming; her achievements and the sheer skill she displayed rivaled the Five Calamities. That was the reason she was given the title of Swordmaiden.

But after the war, her whereabouts disappeared entirely. The only traces left were fragments in the Library of Astral Tale. But there were no details about her end; only the final words of faded stories, like 'died of old age,' were mentioned. Not just her story, but all the other stories don't have a proper end mentioned past the Calamity War. All have similar 'lived happily,' 'died a dog's death,' or 'got executed'

Myra and Alice listened quietly to Leon's explanation.

Myra had doubted it at first, thinking the skeleton might have belonged to someone else; after all, she had only ever heard stories about Lady Lumina, she never imagining she would stand before her remains one day.

'Oh, now that I recalled, he told me he was in Aster-Tale…' Myra now understood why he reacted this way.

Alice, sitting next to Leon, had the same reaction as he did. She didn't say a word, but the look in her eyes gave away everything she felt. She looked angry.

Alice glanced at Leon.

"..."

She remembered their time in Astral Tale. She remembered Lumina talking to her, sharing meals, training together, bathing, laughing, scolding, and teaching her. To Alice, Lumina was like a big sister she never had.

She was a kind woman who loved being surrounded by her people.

And yet, this was her end. A skeleton abandoned in a distant forest, away from everything she once protected, alone for centuries, found only by someone she could never meet in real life.

Alice lowered her head, her hands clenched tightly at her sides as a faint bitterness ran through her chest.

"Hmm…" Veronica rubbed her chin and shifted her gaze from the skeleton to Leon's face. "What do you want to do?"

Leon didn't hesitate and asked. "Can I bury her here? Properly."

Alice's lips curled into a faint, tired smile as she lowered her head.

She understood what Leon was feeling without him having to say it.

"In the Blood Tower?" Veronica asked, her voice was calm.

Leon nodded once.

She thought for a moment, considering the weight of what he was asking.

"The tower doesn't have a cemetery," she finally said, "but having the grave of someone like her here wouldn't be a bad thing either."

Leon glanced at her, and Alice followed.

"Thank you," they both said at the same time.

"Come with me," Veronica said, standing from her chair. "Let's give her a proper Funeral."
