The Villain in the Novel Lives as the Second Best at the Academy

Chapter 0

"It's out!"

Imperial Academy Veritas, its central main building.

Students gathered to see the newly posted grade report on the wall.

< 140th Veritas Cadet Grade Report >

• 1st Place: Escher von Solferion - Combat Department (800 points)

• 2nd Place: Arta Lackren - Magic Department (795 points)

"Ah, shit."

At that moment, a low curse flowed through the murmuring students.

The bustling atmosphere froze instantly, and all eyes turned to one person.

At the center of those gazes, Arta, lightly tossing her short white hair, was glaring at the grade report.

Her snow-white hair, almost dazzling to the eyes, shimmered with a subtle luster whenever it caught the light, and beneath it, her sharp jawline and small face were clearly defined.

Among her features, her eyes were the most captivating.

Her violet-tinted pupils were somehow coldly angry.

A mysterious color that appeared red or blue when light touched it.

But apart from that beauty, they were filled with rough, sharp emotions.

Filled with anger, Arta paid no attention to her surroundings and was just staring intently at one person.

Dark black hair with a neat appearance.

Green eyes sharp enough to swallow a person whole.

Escher von Solferion, who had been glancing at the grade report, withdrew hee gaze and quietly moved away.

Then—

"Hey, you. Follow me to the dueling grounds."

A voice resonated through the crowd.

Escher, stopping in her tracks, slowly turned to look at Arta.

And precisely, clearly, she said:

"Second place, what did you just say?"

In that moment, with a snap, a vein visibly pulsed on Arta's forehead.

"Ha, fine. Someone has to die today."

"That would be you, second place."

Escher seemed determined to throw the words "second place" several more times until Arta became angry enough to use magic.

Arta gritted her teeth.

If it was going to be like this, I shouldn't have come to the academy in the first place.

Muttering that, she headed toward the dueling grounds with Escher.
