"Who we are doesn't matter. What matters is that if you behave, we won't hurt you."

Mu Yuqing's voice was as soothing as jade beads falling into a silver dish, yet it carried a chilling undertone.

Su Chen frowned. "I'm the young master of the Su family. Are you after money? Or something else?"

He speculated that this might be a case of greed. His ostentatious display of wealth at the auction must have attracted their attention.

"Money? We have no shortage of it." Mu Yuqing shook her head.

"Then what do you want?"

Her refusal to admit it was about money only deepened Su Chen's confusion.

"Stop pretending, little thief. Besides being the Su family's young master, you have another identity."

Mu Yuqing's sharp words left Su Chen even more perplexed.

"Another identity? What nonsense are you talking about?"

"Little thief, submit to me, and you won't lose anything. You might even enjoy yourself," she teased, her voice sultry.

Before Su Chen could retort, Mu Yuqing placed her slender hand on his chest.

A rush of warmth surged through Su Chen's body at her touch, eliciting an involuntary gasp from him.

But his expression quickly darkened as a peculiar sensation spread through his body. It was as though fiery currents were coursing through him, leaving his nerves raw and hyperaware.

Su Chen's pupils shrank to pinpricks as unease gripped him. He tried to summon his spiritual energy but was horrified to find his dantian utterly empty. His strength was gone.
