The Village Disciples

Chapter 42: Vol. 2: Chp. 42 The Genso-kyu Method

"Zzzz, zzzz."

Calm sounds of snoring can be heard filling up a classroom. An instructor with long blue hair, grey-eye, and the height of 6'2 is resting his head on his long brown wooden desk, papers being piled and scattered throughout the desk.

*SLAM*

"HAH!" A loud slamming sound erupted from the entrance of the classroom, rousing the blue-haired teacher from his sleep, as well as scaring him in the process; the gleaming tachi blade in his hand indicating such.

Looking at the source of the slam, the teacher could see that the classroom door was opened and slid to the side, presenting a very erratically breathing blonde-haired male.

"I MADE IT HERE FIRST!" The blonde-haired male hollered gratifyingly, a toothy grin plastered on his face.

"Yeah, yeah. It's not like you tripped me in the hall or anything." A new voice grumbled behind the smirking blonde. A jet-black-haired student that was around the same age as the blonde walked into the class, his breathing also being heavy.

"Well, Tanjo. No warrior has ever survived without having a trick up their sleeve!" The rambunctious blonde-haired male playfully refuted, wagging his index finger in the air.

"That's total bull-Ow!" The jet-black-haired student tried to speak, only to get interrupted by an abrupt force striking him atop his head.

"Are you two ever going to act your age!?" Another blonde-haired student walked into the class, but this time the student had longer hair, as well as being female.

"Are you ever going to stop abusing us, Naderamu!?" The male blonde-haired student questioned, his grin transformed into a teeth-gritting frown, glaring at the female with blonde hair who is now identified as Naderamu.

"Well, Akogare. Maybe you shouldn't do things that give me a reason to. Besides, that's barely even abuse." Naderamu replied to the blonde male with the name Akogare, her face only adorning half of the anger from before.

"Uh, good morning?" Another person voiced themselves.

The three students looked over to the owner of the voice, spotting their teacher waving softly at them.

"""Good morning, Mr. Oshieru!""" The three students greeted their teacher cordially, bowing in the process.

"Oh, looks like we weren't first." A pink-haired female student walked in, looking at the two blondes and jet-black-haired students.

A male student with short white hair walked in shortly after the pink-haired girl. "Does it matter, Utsukushi? At least we probably got the chance to get ready properly this morning."

"No, I guess it doesn't, Meisei." The pink-haired girl responded, walking over to her seat.

The final student of the class finally entered. He had light-brown hair, a red paint line that streaked from one cheek, over the nose, to the other cheek, as well as brown eyes.

"Morning, Sukudo!" the pink-haired girl named Utsukushi called out to the final newcomer, a smile gracing her features.

The brown-haired student only nodded with a hum.

After all of the students entered the classroom, they each walked over to their seats, sitting down and getting ready for class.

Once the teacher noticed that all of the students were sitting down, he cleared his throat. "Alright, class. Before we start, I'd like to commend you all on going against the red aura class. To be honest, you all still need work. But you still won in the end, so-- good job!" He clapped his hands together, smiling at his students.

"Okay, with that out of the way. I want to introduce you to something new." The teacher named Oshieru informed, moving to face the board behind him. On the chalkboard, sketches that were made with white chalk were seen.

"So today class, you're going to be learning-" Mr. Oshieru started, then waved his hand towards the board to present a sketch of a ball that was colored in with chalk. "-How to utilize magic in the form of a genso-kyu!"

Tanjo then raised his hand, a questioning look on his face.

Mr. Oshieru saw Tanjo's raised hand, "Yes, Tanjo?" He then called on him.

"What is a genso-kyu? And what does it do?" Tanjo proceeded to ask, an expectant look appeared.

"That's just what I was getting to." Mr. Oshieru stated, clearing his throat to continue. "A genso-kyu is a method warriors tend to use when they wish to control their magic and perform better in battle." Mr. Oshieru further explained, getting nothing but nods from the students.

With the silence he received, Oshieru moved on. "Genso-kyu typically takes the shape of a ball, or orb if you want. The orb is filled with the magic that the user pushes out externally, storing that magic within it for one big push. The genso-kyu method is extremely helpful for blue auras since we are less resistant to the amount of magic we produce."

Akogare gasped, opening his mouth to speak. "So a genso-kyu would put us at less of a risk when using magic!?" he practically then yelled his question out.

"Yes, it will. You can still injure yourself from using genso-kyu if pushed too harshly, but way less likely to die from the drawbacks. Also, please raise your hand next time." Mr. Oshieru answered Akogare's question.

Mr. Oshieru then took one step to the side, presenting another sketch of a ball, but this time the ball was sketched to be much bigger.

"This is also a genso-kyu. This shows that genso-kyu can vary in size, all depending on how much magic someone stores within one. It's also very good at producing wider beams than what we can form from our hands." Mr. Oshieru informed, pointing at the roughly sketched images on the chalkboard.

The white-haired student Ninki Meisei raised his hand, also obtaining a question.

"What is it, Meisei?" Mr. Oshieru called on Meisei, waiting for an answer from the white-haired student.

"So are we learning this all today or what?" Meisei asked, his right eyebrow raised signifying his curiosity.

"Well, I was planning on showing all of you an example of how they are formed. It isn't too difficult to hand once you get the hang of it. I'll make sure that forming genso-kyu is second nature to you guys one way or another." Mr. Oshieru responded to Meisei's question, rousing concern within the class from the latter of the response.

"G-got it." Meisei gulped, attempting to hide his nervousness.

After Meisei got his response, Mr. Oshieru turned to face the whole class. "Any more questions about the genso-kyu method?" He proceeded to ask.

Mr. Oshiery only received even more silence in return, giving him his answer. "Great!" He clapped, "Now, let me show you how someone forms a genso-kyu." He declared, walking around his desk and standing directly in front of the whole class.

He then extended out his hand, his palm facing towards the ceiling of the classroom. A blue shine then began to illuminate, indicating the advent of the genso-kyu process.

"Wait! You're doing it in here!?" Naderamu asked jumping out of her seat, staggered by her teacher's actions.

Mr. Oshieru looked over to the shocked Naderamu, "Yeah, why not?" He asked, oblivious to the students' fear.

"Well, I thought it was to help you shoot out magic!? We're in a classroom! How are you going to safely use it in a building!?" Naderamu hastily questioned, her eyes locked onto her instructor.

Mr. Oshieru's eyes widened slightly, "Oh. I'm not going to shoot it in here." He revealed, now being aware of his students' scared and confused looks.

The blue illumination in Mr. Oshieru's hand kept on growing, then a shape could be seen forming in his palm. An orb started to form within his hand. The orb wasn't too big, but just the right size for everyone to view.

The shine then dimmed down, letting the genso-kyu be on full display.

"See? I'm not going to shoot it. Besides, this is way too small to even do that much damage." Mr. Oshieru comforted his students, presenting the blue genso-kyu in his hand.

Utsukushi hesitantly raised her hand, attaining a nervous look.

"Yes, Utsukushi?" Mr. Oshieru called on her,

"I was just wondering, when are we going to be practicing that ourselves?" Utsukushi queried to her teacher, for some reason keeping her hand in the air. Maybe her mind is still clouded by fear to act properly.

"Yes. For that, we will actually have to head outside. I don't trust a bunch of high schoolers handling genso-kyu without accidentally blasting something in here." Mr. Oshieru announced, answering Utsukushi's question.

"I'll ask one more time before we head outside; any more questions?" Mr. Oshieru questioned, looking all around the classroom. The shaking heads of his students, along with the pregnant silence enveloping the classroom answered his question.

"Great! Now, if you will, follow me outside for the remainder of the class."
