The Vice Captain of the WhiteBeard Pirates

Chapter 269: The Set Up

[ Third Person POV ]

Mariejois

Ginny thought that she had managed to sneak in a transponder snail. Saint Jaygarcia Saturn was more than aware of the little device that she had hidden within her person.

He was curious to see who she would be calling after. After all, there wasn't anything wrong with using Ginny as bait to lure more future experiments back into Mariejois. It wasn't that he couldn't acquire slaves to conduct these experiments; he was more than capable of doing so. However, the slaves weren't as willful as he wanted them to be.

Slaves that were already used to the treatment from Mariejois were the exact antithesis of fresh slaves that had been just captured. The light of liveliness that shone in the eyes of the new arrivals was much more appealing to the Elder than he normally had to deal with.

However, what he wasn't prepared for was Boris's aloof voice. He had been standing near the doors that led into the cells where Ginny had been trapped. So, he had more than a clear hearing of what was being said.

His expression immediately turned grave upon hearing that Boris would be showing up personally to get her out of prison. Having the same pirate who had raided the Holy land before raiding it again would be a disgrace even the Five Elders couldn't keep within Mary Geoise.

Saturn calmly waited until the conversation was over before he headed back to the Room of Authority to disclose his new findings.

"To think that the Storm Dragon had ties to the Revolutionary Army...." Saint Ju Peter muttered after listening to what Saturn had to say.

"Those bastards have been a thorn in our side for quite some time, and with Boris with them, this will only be more problematic for us," Saint Ethanbaron Nusjuro commented.

"Moreover, we still haven't gotten payback for their previous invasion. I think that it's high time to get rid of him," Saint Marcus Mars remarked.

"I agree; the last time they raided, they caught us off guard because we hadn't thought that they would raid Mariejois; it's nice to know that this time around, we'll be having the upper hand," Saint Warcury commented.

"Although we're certain that we can take the Storm Dragon while being fully prepared, what of the possibility of him bringing reinforcements with him?" Saint Saturn asked.

"Hm? You just said that Dragon and his forces would be helping Buccaneer leave Egghead Island...Where would they find the strength to raid Mariejois?" Saint Mars asked.

"It's just a possibility. There was never a properly established time as to when Boris would be attacking. He could easily just wait for Dragon to complete the rescue mission before bringing him and the rest of the crew to raid Mariejois," Saint Warcury pointed out.

"Well, we'll need to keep an eye around Mariejois then if we want to catch them off guard," Saint Nusjuro remarked, "I say we leave Boris to two of us while the other three handle the affairs concerning Mariejois."

"Are you sure that two of us will be enough for him? We all have fought him before, and we don't need to remember how that turned out," Saint Ju Peter asked.

"As Warcury said, he caught us unawares; we weren't necessarily in the right mind for battle. After all, it's been decades since we needed to take personal action, don't you think?" Saint Saturn remarked.

"Indeed, knowing that we're going to take action in the fighting does warm these old bones of mine up. However, who are we going to send to kill Boris?" Saint Warcury asked.

"I'll volunteer; I need to get my payback for what happened earlier," Saint Nusjuro volunteered.

"Since I'm the one that even brought this entire matter to attention. I feel like it's my responsibility to follow through with the heavy lifting," Saint Saturn raised his hand as well.

"Then it is decided. Saturn and Ethanbaron will engage with Boris; in the meantime, we can keep an eye on the Red Port and the areas near Mariejois," Saint Warcury commented.

"I'll stay within Pangea Castle and guard it; the Lord's slumber must not be disturbed," Saint Mars commented.

The rest of the Five Elders agreed before the meeting was adjourned; however, right as they were beginning to exit the Room of Authority, they felt the calling of their Lord.

They immediately headed towards the throne room and bowed before the Empty Throne. They kept silent until they heard their Lord's footsteps quietly approach them.

However, something was off compared to the normal times that they would visit the Throne Room.

Their Lord, who would normally enter and sit on the empty throne, slowly approached the Five Elders. Darkness slowly bloomed from the Lord's shadow as he approached closer and closer towards them.

The black mist that exuded out of the Lord slowly began to cover all Five Elders. They immediately began to choke as they clutched at their necks for dear life. The darkness that initially covered them slowly began to seep within their bodies as their skin, bones, and even their eye sockets all turned to a shade of black.

However, this was but a momentary moment. Their odd-colored appearance soon turned to normal as they felt a surge of incomparable power course through their veins. They immediately fell to the ground as they started shivering. Their senses were currently experiencing an overload as a result of the sudden power-up that they had received.

It even led to some of the Elders throwing up as they struggled to comprehend what they were experiencing. However, this was but a small price to pay in return to what they were getting.

"This power.....!" Saint Warcury commented.

"It's simply overwhelming!!!" Saint Nusjuro growled as he held his katana even tighter.

As soon as the Five Elders regained their composure. They all returned to their kneeling positions, not even daring to stare at the face of their Lord.

"Do...not fail me," The Lord commented before turning and leaving the throne room.

This was all that the Five Elders needed as a motivation to ensure the death of the Storm Dragon. The Five Elders continued to kneel on the ground for a while before they got up.

"It seems that even the Lord wishes us to eliminate this threat," Saint Nusjuro remarked.

"Indeed, you must ensure that you eliminate Boris immediately as soon as you see him," Saint Warcury commented, "our Lord's wishes take top priority."

They immediately left the room and began preparing for the attack. The entirety of Mariejois remained on high alert as they awaited the day that the Storm Dragon would arrive.

Saturn had even gone out of his way to ensure that Ginny was far from Pangea Castle. The Five Elders were already weary of having the main reason for the attack locked within the walls of Pangea Castle, a place where their Lord resided.

As a result, she was taken into the abode of the Manmeyer Family, and she was to remain there until the entire ordeal was over. The temporary leader for the Manmeyer Family obeyed Saturn's orders and kept her in a secluded area.

Soon, the Five Elders felt the approaching presence of the Storm Dragon.
