The Veilwalker

Chapter 493: Universal Accord Commission (3)

Hearing those words, the Council members who were seated got to their feet, moving towards the Grand view outside.

Naturally, their retainers were not left out; they were just as curious as their leaders. For a kid who rose to such heights, there was no way they wouldn't be curious.

Lord Baltor, on the other hand, didn't bother to get up. Though he still had a view of the outside from where he sat.

Acknowledging Alexander would mean acknowledging he was wrong. While unfounded and unreasonable, his pride wouldn't allow it.

Sometime later, the cruiser arrived at the destination, finally coming to a stop. Looking outside, the Council members realised that the entire space was dark and lifeless.

There were no distant stars, galaxies, or even cosmic storms anywhere to be seen. It piqued the interest of most of them, as they wondered which part of the universe the place was located in.

Fortunately for them, they didn't have to wait long, as Aaron's voice resounded once again.

[Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the centre of the universe…]

'Centre?' Lord Valemont looked outside with renewed interest. 'Is this really the centre of the universe?'

The place looked bleak and empty, making it difficult for him to accept. Moreover, they arrived here in under an hour.

'Did the ship make multiple hyper jumps?' he was confused, as there was nothing that suggested so. 'Hah… I'll just take it as it is.'

For the sake of his mental well-being, Malcolm decided to accept it as the truth. Whether or not those words were correct, it didn't matter. The real show was about starting.

'We're here to witness the creation of the UAC. Nothing else matters now…' he thought, focusing outside again. 'But how is that going to be done when there's literally nothing here?'

It was the same for most of the Council members. As for the three leaders, they decided to share a common room, all three standing close to the window.

"Is this really the centre of the universe?" Lady Irene asked, glancing at her co-heads.

"What does Universe Lord mean to you?" Lord Basso asked instead of replying.

The question got the woman thinking. From what she experienced from Alexander when he accepted her, it wouldn't be too far-fetched.

"Lord Alexander has no reason to lie to us," Jaseph decided to chip in, a gentle grin on his lips. "Besides, with what he can do, shifting through spacetime is but a simple feat."

The Proudstar matriarch nodded thoughtfully, already convinced from her own thoughts on the matter. 'I guess I'm still narrow-minded.'

[The birth of the Universal Accord Commission will commence shortly]

Aaron's voice pulled everyone out of their sped-up thoughts. They focused outside, where they saw Alexander materialise far away from the ship.

The Council members didn't realise just how far away Alex appeared, as despite the hundreds of light-years, Alexander seemed to be just a few kilometres away.

Alexander stood in the void majestically, the tie of his black suit loose and shifted to the side. For some reason, the Council members could see him from every angle, almost as if they were staring at a screen.

Everyone looked on in anticipation as Alexander raised his right hand forward while the left hand went into his pocket, appearing all casual and relaxed.

'Show off,' Aaron thought to himself, though the gentle grin on his face said otherwise.

Julia, on the other hand, had literal stars in her eyes as she gazed at Alexander's domineering figure. The sight was too much for her fragile heart to take, pushing her to gulp more than once.

Finally, under the watchful eyes of everyone, Alexander warped reality as enormous amounts of energy gathered like torrential waves ahead of him, spreading for trillions of kilometres in every direction.

The sight was akin to watching an artist bring a painting to life. A mesmerising blend of cosmic colours — many of which the Council members didn't even know existed — mixed with void energy began to take form, condensing into sophisticated shapes.

'My god…'

Many among the Council members started with wide eyes, unable to believe the sight before them. They knew Alex was powerful, but seeing him control that vast amount of energy really sank into the reality they couldn't accept.

"Ah…"

Lord Baltor instinctively took a step back out of extreme shock, the feeling so overwhelming that he fell on his backside. He could not make a sound, and neither could he look away.

The sight would have been comical if he were the only one frozen in absolute. The majority of the Council members, even those already familiar with Alexander's power, could not process the sheer intensity and impact the sight had on them.

From the swirling sea of energies came the formation of solid objects. Like an ever-changing cubic labyrinth, the Council members bore witness to grand structures taking shape.

The core of the base, resembling a continuously shifting cube, was connected to enormous bridges that encircled the core, creating the various departments of the base.

The structures continued to expand as far as their eyes could see. Following the creation of the base, space cruisers, similar to what they were currently in, docked at the space harbours surrounding the base.

There were hundreds of them, each the size of a small continent. Even so, compared to the base itself, the cruisers looked like vehicles before Grand Mountains.

A couple of kilometres away from the various harbours, giant circular gates that looked like doughnuts took shape around the grand, silvery base. At the centre of these gates were swirling vortexes of blueish-white energy.

Along the sides of the grand base, running throughout the entire structure of the UAC, were glowing lines of energy that directly flowed from the power core of the base, located in the heart of the grand structure.

It was a majestic creation that left the Council members wide-mouthed and shaken to the core. Alexander had just created something out of nothing. Something that would have taken years on end was completed within minutes.

"So this is what he meant when he said the UAC would not fight for anything." Lady Irene nodded, taken aback by the sheer madness of the entire sight. "He can create anything he desires out of nothing."

"Mm," Lord Basso nodded, just as taken aback. "Lord Alexander isn't a god for no reason. This is what he meant by being the Universe Lord."

The final product was a base that stretched for trillions of kilometres, far larger than any planet out there. Even without stepping inside, the Council members knew the base was far from empty.

'This is insane…' Aaron swallowed in horror. 'I knew Big Brother was powerful… But this… this is not something humans should be capable of doing. Is it even possible to attain such power?'

Aaron wondered genuinely, clenching and unclenching his fists as a fire burned within him. He was feeling motivated. He was one of the lucky ones, as some of the Council members fell into a state of despair, realising there was no hope of ever standing against such power.

Lord Baltor was one of the unlucky few. He could not process the reality before his eyes, still stuck on the floor of his chamber, staring blankly as if in the presence of a god, which was indeed the case.

"Everyone…" Alexander finally turned around, facing the space cruiser behind him. "I give you the home base of the Universal Accord Commission."

His voice echoed through the sound system of the cruiser, reaching every cabin onboard. Strangely enough, whatever stupor the Council members found themselves in disappeared like it never existed, restoring the graceful appearance and demeanour they always carried.

Even then, the light of defeat could be seen in the eyes of many of the Council members. It was like they had aged several years in seconds. Their defiance and arrogance were doused to the bare minimum.

"Please prepare yourselves for a tour of the facilities," Alexander added, turning around to face the base before flying towards one of the many bridges that led to the core of the base.

A moment later, Julia and Aaron appeared beside him, their eyes filled with awe and wonder. Alexander's brother went as far as crouching to touch the ground; he had to be sure what he was seeing was real.

He had forgotten that he was not at the stage where he could survive in the cold vacuum of space. Then again, Alexander was right beside him, and the base had its own atmosphere, so there was nothing to worry about.

"I'll be honest, brother," Aaron glanced at Alex from his squatted position. "This is beyond what I expected. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that fact."

"Hehe, of course it's beyond your expectations." Julia chuckled, settling comfortably in Alexander's embrace. "My Alexander is no mere awakened. He's the Veilwalker, master of our universe. It's only natural to see something like this."

"Right…" Aaron shook his head with a knowing smile. Getting up to his feet, he took another moment to appreciate the grand sight before turning to look at the cruiser in the distance.

Before he could make another comment, Alex turned to face the cruiser and said, "They're ready for the tour now." With his works, the Council members began appearing on the bridge.

Some still had the colour drained from their faces, others stared at Alex like some kind of monster, while a few had their heads lowered.

"Welcome to the Universal Accord Commission, people." Alexander welcomed everyone, ignoring their shaken states.
