The Vampire Diaries: The Heretic

Asher walked with a smile on his face as the Sun glistened over his shoulders, he warmly greeted the townsfolk as he scurried past them.

Asher passed over an alley, his ears perked up as he heard rough growls and the sound of teeth sinking into a soft skin.

His eyes narrowed as his head snapped towards the alley, 'Is there another vampire in town?' He thought with hesitation before speeding into the alley.

"Or it's a dog… just a dog." He regretfully said as he gazed at the sight of a pack of dogs teaming up on another.

The sole dog had a frightened face as he was pounded on by the pack, but despite his terror it seemed that he wouldn't go out without a fight as he weakly fought back.

Asher had a wistful expression as the moment reminded him of a scene from the past, one that he wished to forget.

'It's been a while since I've visited my hateful descendents. I guess it's time for the generational torture but then again…. I wasn't able to find them last decade.

'They've been cloaking themselves huh? It seems that this time their spell is actually a bit promising, the last time I was a bit preoccupied so I didn't dwell much on it.

'But this time, my abominable family shall not escape me.'

He thought with a regretful pause before he turned his attention on to the loathsome dogs, "Ganging up on one of your kind, that's not quite fair is it? Let's make it even."

Asher grinned softly before quickly snapping their necks, the dog stood up in a panic as he looked at Asher in terror.

With a yelp he tried to run away but Asher was faster as he caught him by his hindlegs, "You ain't going anywhere champ. Wait a minute, you're a she not a he."

Asher asked in surprise as he raised her up to examine her.

She had innocent white fur which was laced with dust and dirt, fleas and other insects clung tightly to her skin as she winced ever so slightly here and then.

She had pale blue eyes with honed nails and sharp teeth, she seemed to have more intelligence compared to her kind as she gazed at him with terror and tried to figure out what Asher was.

"Easy there young one, I ain't going to hurt you." He said warmly as he stroked the small dog softly. "It's decided, I'm going to adopt you from today."

The dog's eyes widened as her mouth dropped lower than his future as she stared at him with shock.

"You are Snowy from now on, Snowy Von Pendrax." Asher said with a smile.

Snowy's mouth fell even more as she looked at him, stunned.

She remained silent and tried to process his words.

"..."

Asher slightly played with Snow as he extended her paws with his hands, making her look daunting.

After playing with her for a while, the person Asher expected came and he sat opposite to him. His body was tense as he nervously looked around.

"What do you want now, Asher?" He asked quietly as his gaze rested on the black haired man's figure. Asher waved off his concerns as he started petting Snow.

"Don't be so tense Evan, chill for a bit." Asher repeated in a soft voice as he paused for a few moments causing Evan to roll his head in agony.

"Whatever, what I came here to say is that, I want to bet big again. Three hundred thousand to be exact." Asher smirked at his words as he waited for Evan's answer.

Evan looked at him with stupor as his mouth fell to his ground, "Are you dumb!" He yelled out loudly before hastily quieting down.

"Are you dumb?! The only reason you won so much last time was because there were a few whales in town. Currently there are none, nada, zilch.

"You'll probably get like 10 bucks back, but I guess if you want to buy a lollipop you can place your bet." Evan teased him and suppressed a chuckle.

Asher had a blank expression on his face as he paused for a moment, "I know that!" He said quickly without hesitation.

"Sure, Scrooge McDuck."

Evan chuckled as he looked at him, awaiting his counter.

"So what my actual plan was to lure out an actual Scoorge Mcduck. Do you know what rich people like?

"It's an extravagant party where they can display their wealth but also look smart at the same time. So you have to chat with one of them and make them intrigued about this party."

Asher said with a smile, as he chuckled at his intelligence.

"After that, you have to make sure that they actually turn up to this party. Invite like four of them, and then contact me about all the details of what the party is going to be and its appearance."

Evan's mouth dropped slightly as he looked at him with a bit of respect, 'He has good improv skills.' He thought with genuine respect as he waited for Asher to continue.

"I'll find a place, spend some money to decorate it, yada, yada, after that I'll send you the location which you'll share with them!"

Asher brought Snow to his face and looked deeply at Evan, "Understand?"

Evan scoffed at him as he shook his head, "Bit much on my part don't you think, Lady Tremaine." He said harshly

"Seventy Thousand." Asher replied swiftly with little hesitation. "You'll get seventy thousand dollars, and in return you do what I said. Can you accept?"

"Yes, master!" Evan replied with clear greed in his eyes.

Asher scoffed with disgust and intrigue at his change in attitude before he quickly left after paying for the bill.
