The Unruly Immortals

Chapter 937 Dangerous

In the icy sea, Li Huowang paddled with his fins, holding a dagger in one hand while clutching Yang Na with the other, following behind Ling'er.

Glancing downward, suspended over this desert-like expanse, Li Huowang had a strange feeling, as if he wasn't swimming in water, but floating in mid-air.

"Could their Fate Commander really be in such a place? Last time the projection was a factory, what could the Fate Commander's projection be this time?"

Li Huowang was strenuously searching the surroundings, looking for anything that could be the projection of the Fate Commander.

But this place was truly barren, with nothing but the occasional sea fish drifting by and vast areas of sand on the sea floor. It didn't seem like there was anything significant enough to be a Fate Commander's projection.

If it were a Fate Commander projection, it should at least move and pose a threat to them.

Just like last time's poisonous black factory; if Li Huowang was right, those drug lords were probably the limbs of the Fate Commander.

Just then, Li Huowang felt a tug on his arm. He turned to find it was Yang Na.

Yang Na, with an oxygen mask on her face, couldn't speak, so she could only point upward to the water surface.

After discerning carefully, Li Huowang noticed small ripples start to spread across the inverted sea surface. "It's raining outside."

"Attention! Return to the ship immediately! A typhoon is coming this way, repeating, return immediately!" Zhao Shuangdian's anxious voice came through his earpiece.

Upon hearing this, everyone immediately stopped what they were doing, turned, and swam towards the sea surface.

The weather on the sea changes in an instant, and the typhoon came so quickly.

Emerging from the sea, Li Huowang took off his goggles in shock, finding dark clouds like a collapsing sky pressing forth from afar.

Watching the deep growl of thunder within the clouds, Li Huowang swallowed hard, his expression instantly becoming grim.

"What on earth is going on? Could this really be a projection of the Fate Commander? How come this Fate Commander is so powerful this time?!?"

Yet, he was the Fate Commander now, and if a projection was a person, then what terrifying entity is this projection?

"Get back on the ship quickly! We've been discovered; this is nothing but an ambush!!" Li Huowang shouted hoarsely to those around him.

Clearly, after the successful raid last time, a Fate Commander from another group did not intend to let Li Huowang and the others repeat their tactics.

Whatever this thing was, it appeared they had long prepared this ambush for them.

Huge waves of seawater lashed at everyone's faces; at this moment, they couldn't care less and exerted all their effort to swim toward the distant, undulating cruiser.

The waves were growing heavier, but fortunately, Li Huowang and his companions had diving gear; unable to swim on the stormy surface, they could dive to near the cruiser quickly.

But even in the water, it was dangerously turbulent, with various undercurrents swirling, and several times Li Huowang nearly got swept away.

Seeing the barnacle-covered bottom of the cruiser ahead, Li Huowang swam a few strokes quickly, and burst out of the water, reaching to grab the iron ladder on the ship's side.

Just as his hand was about to grip the ladder, the ship, accompanied by an eerie creaking sound, floated up! It was as if an invisible giant hand had picked it up!

With the cruiser lifted, Li Huowang saw something hidden behind it, a towering column of seawater standing tall between heaven and earth!

"Water tornado!!"

Amidst such a divine display of nature's power, there wasn't much Li Huowang could do—his only option was to submerge the heads of his comrades back underwater. "Stay below the surface! Go to the seabed! Bury yourselves in the sand!!"

Escape was impossible; their sole chance was to dive to the seabed to minimize the impact of the phenomenon on the surface.

Amidst the chaos, Li Huowang suddenly felt darkness overhead. Looking up, he was instantly overwhelmed by a suffocating sensation.

The just-lifted cruiser had spun in the air, above his head, plunging downwards with the rainwater directly at him.

A piercing ringing filled Li Huowang's ears; his body moved reflexively, and Li Huowang used everything he had to dive deeper into the water.

Before he could swim far, a powerful shockwave from above tossed him entirely out.

Luckily, there was no other hard object in the area. Li Huowang's body crashed into the underwater sandbank, the ringing in his ears stopping, replaced by a roaring sound.

Feeling slightly stronger, Li Huowang immediately scrambled out of the sandbank, only to be face-to-face with the dead Ba Shengqing.

He seemed alive, for his tattooed eyeball blinked slightly when looking at Li Huowang, "Did Gu God... die?"

Recalling something suddenly, Li Huowang immediately looked for Yang Na.

The ship had disintegrated, with its parts, like a deceased whale, plummeting into the underwater desert.

Li Huowang searched frantically, noticing something moving in the upper left. But when he turned, he realized it was Ba Nanxu, half of her body crushed.

It seemed she had been struck by the ship's wreckage.

She wasn't wearing her oxygen mask anymore and was desperately swimming, seemingly searching for something in the wreckage.

Though she was moving, Li Huowang knew with such injuries, she wouldn't survive long, especially since the two Fate Commanders governing pain were dead.

Then, Li Huowang glimpsed Qing Wanglai in the water, surviving without a scratch, dragging Zhao Lei towards a section without falling wreckage.

As Chen Hongyu's large body tumbled, Li Huowang quickly flapped his fins, swimming that way.

But as he steadied Chen Hongyu's body, he saw a metal plate embedded straight into her face. Rot had claimed another life.

"Yang Na! Yang Na!!!" Frantic, Li Huowang searched all around, but he couldn't find her anywhere.

Just then, a pale hand rested on Li Huowang's shoulder from behind. His heart skipped with joy, and he turned, only to see a "mermaid."

Yes, it was Yang Na, but now she had only half a torso left; in the prior pandemonium, something had severed her lower body.

Intestines and organs slipped from the open wound, mingled with blood spreading into the sea, making Yang Na look like a mermaid with a crimson tail.

Yang Na seemed long dead, her skin discolored from blood loss to an eerie pallor, a blend that bestowed upon her the beauty of a wilting rose graced by death.

Driven by ocean currents, the deceased Yang Na's body swirled, tail swaying, encircling Li Huowang in a loop.
