The Unruly Immortals

Chapter 903: The Same Path

Li Sui was watching them, and those performers were also watching Li Sui, not just watching, their eyes were nearly fixed on her. Such a beautiful girl, they had never seen before.

"What are you looking at! Never seen a woman before?" The old man flicked each of them on the forehead.

He glanced at the bowl of Copper Coins, reached out and twisted the shoulder of the little boy hard, and the broken hand reattached. "Let's go, leave the city, sigh, after all this work, we haven't even made enough for food."

When they had packed up all their things, they drove the carriage outwards.

Just as they left the city gates, they saw Li Sui following behind them. Some of the young men in the caravan immediately became restless, wondering if this girl had taken a liking to them.

With a kick each, he drove them away, the leading old man clasped his hands towards Li Sui. "Young lady, you've seen the show, and it's getting late, hurry back so your elders don't worry."

At the mention of 'elders', Li Sui's expression dimmed a bit, but she quickly recovered. "Grandpa, is this road the way to Youdu?"

"Yes, it is, but there are several forks on the way. The distance isn't far, but on foot, it might take ten days, young lady, empty-handed like this, you won't make it." Chen Bin finished speaking, no longer explaining, and led his apprentices forward.

But before long, he saw the girl following again. "Are you also going to Youdu? Can I go with you? I'm afraid of taking the wrong path."

"Sure, sure! We're also going to Youdu! It's on the way!" A few boys of seventeen or eighteen, excited, didn't know where to put their hands.

"Sure my ass! Are you my master?" Chen Bin said, once again solemnly saluting Li Sui, "Young lady, men and women shouldn't be too close, and it's a long journey. If you really want to go to Youdu, go with your elders or hire a Bodyguard for escort."

Chen Bin wouldn't let his apprentices' lust cloud their minds. A girl looking so good wanting to travel with a group of old bachelors, it was too unusual, clearly a trap.

"But I can't find my elders....." Seeing Li Sui's lowered and aggrieved expression, those young men immediately felt their hearts ache, wanting to comfort her incoherently.

But their sympathy was useless. Chen Bin pushed them away, took the wild rabbit skin, and held it respectfully in front of Li Sui, then immediately turned to lead his apprentices away quickly as if fleeing.

They ran for two Hours, only stopping when the sky gradually darkened.

"Master, isn't this too much?" Lin Qishan, the fourth apprentice, wiped the sweat from his chin with the back of his hand and asked his master.

"Better safe than sorry, being cautious doesn't hurt. I just saw something off about that girl, hurry and gather wood, set the stove, and eat."

The dinner wasn't much, just some corn cakes with a pot of wild vegetable soup, only a small jar of vinegar added some flavor.

They couldn't use too much vinegar, each person had seven chopstick dips, once used up, there was nothing more, that was Chen Bin's rule.

Adolescent boys could eat a lot, this was no exaggeration, if they ate freely, that jar of vinegar wouldn't last a day.

While they were eating eagerly, the smallest boy went to the Forest to relieve himself, still holding the corn cake in his mouth.

But just as he reached the edge of the Forest, he let out a scream more piercing than when his hand had broken.

Upon hearing the sound, all the brothers forgot about eating, grabbed all sorts of tools, and ran over.

"What happened? What's going on?" Seeing the little boy tremblingly pointing to the dark Forest, Chen Bin immediately threw his torch in that direction.

The next instant, they were all stunned, for there stood the girl who had asked for directions, in the Forest, holding a bloody mess in her hands, lightly squeezing and popping small pieces into her mouth.

Li Sui, her cheeks bulging, wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand and said pleadingly, "I didn't mean to follow you, but I really have something important to do in Youdu. Traveling together is safer, if there's any Evil Spirit on the way, I can help you chase them away."

Chen Bin opened his mouth, momentarily speechless, his trembling hand reaching into his bosom.

"Is that okay." When Li Sui took a step forward, Chen Bin gritted his teeth, pulled out a string of items from his bosom, and held it high.

It was a Copper Coin, passed down from Chen Bin's grandfather, who said it was called 'Mountain Ghost Spending Coins', worn to ward off evil.

Li Sui gazed at the Copper Coin threaded with a red string, reminded of the Copper Coin Sword her father always carried. Tears welled up in her eyes.

As Li Sui cried out, Chen Bin and his apprentices were so scared they collapsed to the ground, the cleverest, Lin Qishan, prostrated on the ground, kowtowing frantically to Li Sui. "Great Immortal, spare me, don't eat me!"

After a while, under Li Sui's sobbing pleas, Chen Bin readily agreed to travel together.

He didn't even bother to pack up, nor did he sleep, driving the horse under the moonlight, all of them trembled as they led the way, with Li Sui following behind.

The sky gradually lightened, normally they should rest, but Chen Bin didn't dare. The previous scene kept haunting him, he feared turning into that bloody mess, stuffed into her mouth.

"Master, we shouldn't go this way, isn't this the territory of 'Kaishanbao'? Going this way, we're likely to get robbed." Hearing the older apprentice's words, Chen Bin immediately glared at him.

When he looked back and saw the girl, transfixed at the Copper Coin, he lowered his voice to explain, "We're going to the bandits' territory on purpose! It's called 'Drive Wolves Swallow Tigers'! Remember, once they fight, we run for our lives!"

As he spoke, Chen Bin couldn't help but curse his grandfather multiple times in his heart, the 'Mountain Ghost Spending Coins' had been handled by this monster for a while, absolutely useless.

After another three Hours, suddenly, a large tree fell, blocking the way. Seeing several brawny men approaching with knives, Chen Bin became excited, there's life!

"I opened this mountain, I planted this tree, if you want to pass, leave a.... huh? This little girl is quite fine." The bandits, in groups of three or five, approached Li Sui with lewd smiles.

Interrupted from her memories, when Li Sui returned to her senses, she saw a man beginning to unbutton in front of her.

After a brief pause, Li Sui retreated two steps, waving her hands in refusal. "Thank you, I'm not hungry right now."
