The Unruly Immortals

Chapter 901: Great

The intense pain made Li Huowang somewhat clearer, but not much. As the anesthetic deepened, the pain he felt gradually lessened.

Li Huowang staggered backward, and after hearing Wu Qi's voice, he finally fainted completely, falling to the ground.

He didn't know how long it had been when Li Huowang slowly regained consciousness. The flashlight above, swaying continuously, made him realize he was still inside the factory, and the quiet surroundings proved that everything that had happened here was over.

Li Huowang strenuously reached out to press his head, feeling as if it was about to split open.

"Here, drink some water. Don't be afraid; this is a side effect. It'll disappear soon." Wu Qi said, helping Li Huowang up.

"Is it over? Did we win?" Li Huowang turned his head to one side, looking at the bodies strewn all around.

"No, they escaped, but Zhao Shuangdian said we achieved our goal. We should retreat now."

"Retreat?" Li Huowang looked at the others in the distance, watching as they siphoned fuel from the engine and poured it on the items in the factory, seemingly intent on burning the place down.

At this moment, Li Huowang had many questions in his heart and wanted to ask Zhao Shuangdian, but now wasn't the best time for questions. Even if he asked, Zhao might not answer.

Li Huowang stood up directly and, supported by Wu Qi, retreated towards the dark tunnels of the underground canal. "Since it's over, let's leave."

Li Huowang didn't know what it all meant; he could only judge from experience that this underground factory should be akin to the White Jade Capital, and those people before were the Fate Commanders of this place.

But thinking so, Li Huowang felt something was amiss. "God Yu'er was clearly strong, so how could the Fate Commanders with it be so weak? How could over a hundred good people not fight these people?"

"Or perhaps I guessed wrong? How could they have torn apart the White Jade Capital?" While pondering, Li Huowang retreated deeper into the darker tunnels.

Wu Qi leaned Li Huowang against the wall and turned to help the others.

Li Huowang forcefully shook his head, glaring at Qing Wanglai, who was rummaging in the icebox.

But before his inner anger could be vented, a strange noise came from the tunnel on the left. He glared over there, and in the darkness, something was glaring back—a lot of people.

Suddenly, a bright light shone, and a rolling flashlight fell at Li Huowang's feet, illuminating him brightly, just like what happened to Chen Hongyu earlier.

"Enemy attack!" Li Huowang shouted with all his might, then lunged toward the door. At that moment, as Ba Nanxu flicked a cigarette butt, the entire factory burst into flames.

With pursuers behind and fire ahead, Li Huowang and the others were caught in a desperate situation.

When Li Huowang picked up a helmet from the ground and put it on, the enemy charged through the iron door.

They were all black men, and when they saw the burning factory, their expressions turned furious, and they raised their guns, aiming at Li Huowang and his companions, cursing in a language they couldn't understand.

However, it wasn't the most dangerous part. Along with gunfire, ten round grenades were thrown toward Li Huowang and the others.

Watching those black spheres of death flying toward him, Li Huowang's heart seemed to slow down by half a beat; this was it.

Without any hesitation, Li Huowang rushed forward, kicked hard with both feet, grabbed two grenades, and charged at the enemies.

Seeing Li Huowang with grenades in his hands, those people were visibly panicked, shooting at him while retreating out the door.

With a "bang," as the door closed, Li Huowang lowered his head to look at the grenades in his hands and then rammed at the door.

The grenades split open, revealing some yellow things inside.

But at that moment, everything froze. Li Huowang gazed in a daze at the mooncakes in his hands, momentarily at a loss.

"Eat, don't just stand there; this is the result of everyone's efforts," an orderly gently patted Li Huowang's back.

"Mooncakes?" Li Huowang looked around again, observing the peaceful atmosphere of the rest area. "White Tower Prison?? I've returned? What is this...."

Suddenly realizing something, Li Huowang took a bite of the purple yam mooncake, eating it up. A new piece of paper emerged, which he opened to find identical writing inside.

"Snap!" Li Huowang slapped his face hard, the numbing pain indicating he wasn't dreaming. He seemed to faintly grasp what was happening.

Forcing himself to stay calm, he swallowed the paper down and headed to the restroom again, where he found himself again.

Afterwards, everything went as Li Huowang knew: the same rubber, the same inquiries from Yi Donglai.

However, when Li Huowang held the magnetic card and left the White Tower, he decisively got into Ba Nanxu's car. "Take me to Zhao Shuangdian! Hurry!"

"Wow? So urgent? I thought you'd first find your little girlfriend." She kicked her brother, who was holding the steering wheel, on the back, and he immediately stepped on the gas.

Not long after, Li Huowang found Zhao Shuangdian again at the Blood Fire Society tattoo parlor. "What the hell is going on? What's happening with all this! Why am I back!!"

A hint of confusion appeared on Zhao Shuangdian's face, "Sorry, I'm not sure what you're talking about?"

Li Huowang tried to suppress the unease in his heart, repeating everything from his previous experience, for now, she was the only one who could explain it all.

After hearing this, a trace of surprise appeared on Zhao Shuangdian's face, "I indeed had intentions of recruiting you to join the counterattack, but I don't know how you got this information, and the subsequent situation doesn't add up."

"Firstly, the timing; we acted on February 6th, not February 3rd. Secondly, based on calculations, a plane wouldn't be needed to reach the other elephant entrance—it's on the sea, so we should have gone by ship if at all."

"How… how is this possible?!" Li Huowang, utterly shocked, took half a step back. "No! It's not right! Something's wrong!"

But quickly, the shock on Li Huowang's face began to recede, replaced by confusion. "This isn't the first time; the ship was one time! The son of Master exists! And… there was another! What was the second time? I forgot! But there must be a second time! This is the third time!"

As he thought about it, the confusion on Li Huowang's face gradually turned into an expression of hideous struggle, balling his fists, using all his strength, hitting his own head, trying to awaken some unnoticed details.

"Big... Big..."

Zhao Shuangdian watched Li Huowang with great interest, "The elephant without form?"

Li Huowang shook his head vigorously, desperately denying it, and just then, his eyes suddenly lit up.

"No! No! It's not an elephant without form, it's the Grand Fate Commander, unstoppable! I finally understand!!"

"There was never any time! The reason you've changed your plan now isn't because that place doesn't exist but because we in another timeline destroyed it! That factory! That factory was the Fate Commander's projection!"

"We destroyed the factory, so its history and timeline have vanished! Except for me, all of you have forgotten! Just like the previous two times!!"
