The Unruly Immortals

Chapter 389: Li Huowang (Extra! Thanks to the overlord Sen's Black Mountain Goat for the reward!)

Facing such a bizarre Oblivion Path, Li Huowang truly didn't know what to do.

He was even more afraid that if he continued to stay with Oblivion Path, his remaining abilities would also be swindled away one by one.

If he truly wanted to eradicate him, the only remaining method was Cangqiong Ascension, but with the opponent right in front of him, where could he find the time to search for the ultimate pain within?

"No, in this situation where friend and foe are unclear, I must retreat first! Find Zhuge Yuan!"

Having made up his mind, Li Huowang immediately cut off both his ears and threw them to cover his escape, then turned around and dashed out of the building.

When he returned to the Bamboo Forest, the morning mist outside had gradually dissipated; Li Huowang, summoning up his energy, charged forward. During his frantic run, he clenched his teeth, pulled out the bone fragment, and performed Divination again.

Whether Divination led him to Zhuge Yuan or Zhuge Yuan sensed someone performing Divination for him, either situation could help him escape his current plight.

As long as the Zhuge Yuan responsible for this wealth was killed, this crisis would be over!

As he ran, a donkey cart appeared on the road ahead. It was a very old donkey which, despite its age, had no problem pulling the two women – a mother and daughter – in the light carriage.

"Benefactor!?" The sallow-skinned woman's eyes widened as she saw the disheveled Li Huowang before her.

"Someone is chasing me! Help me avoid this calamity!" Li Huowang quickly said, not even waiting for her agreement before he dived into the carriage.

While the sallow-skinned woman was still trying to understand what was happening, she saw another man, identical to her benefactor, rushing forward from ahead.

"Have you seen someone who looks exactly like me?"

As the second benefactor posed this question and the woman hesitated over how to respond, her child pointed toward the Bamboo Forest next to them.

"I'll see where you can run to!"

Watching the second benefactor charge into the Bamboo Forest, soon disappearing from sight, the woman quickly embraced her child and drew the cart's curtain aside.

Covering the wound on his abdomen, Li Huowang looked at the two faces, one large and one small, before him, and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you for the help. I'll remember this favor," he said.

Li Huowang never imagined that a previous good deed would save his own life.

The woman quickly shook her head, "Benefactor, you saved my daughter on the boat; it's only right to help you. You've lost a lot of blood, you should hurry to the village and find a doctor."

Li Huowang shook his head and pulled out the Fire Coat True Scripture to heal himself. "Go on your way, as though I wasn't here."

The woman, holding her daughter, nodded repeatedly and covered the cart's curtain, urging the old donkey to move faster.

Just as Li Huowang was using the healing technique to cover the bloody holes on his body, he felt the donkey cart come to a stop. His heart skipped a beat.

Peering out from behind the curtain, Li Huowang saw a face in the distance, indistinguishable from his own.

In his hand was a split human bone, and somehow the other man had already tricked him out of his Divination ability and began to use it to locate him.

Li Huowang took a deep breath, jumped down from the carriage, and stood in front of it, speaking firmly to the mother and daughter behind him, "You two go, and the farther, the better!"

The sallow-skinned woman looked at the identical men before her, glanced at her daughter who was crying from fright, and without even a second thought for her new donkey cart, took her child and their belongings and headed into the Bamboo Forest nearby.

Li Huowang opened his mouth and exhaled slowly. He saw the other man begin to speak, but before he could say anything, both abruptly turned their heads to look towards an alleyway at the side.

Seeing the newcomer, Li Huowang's face showed full excitement—it was Zhuge Yuan!

Dressed as a scholar, Zhuge Yuan, with a folding fan in hand, looked interestedly at the two Li Huowangs who looked exactly alike.

Before Li Huowang could open his mouth, he heard the other speak, "Brother Zhuge! I am Li Huowang! This man is from the Oblivion Path!"

Li Huowang almost spat out a mouthful of blood at that, but he didn't intend to repeat the other's words and watched Zhuge Yuan closely.

"Brother Zhuge, you managed to kill Fa Cai, you must also be able to see through this petty trick of the Oblivion Path at a glance, right?"

Hearing the conversation from both sides, Zhuge Yuan thought for a moment and asked with interest, "Did you bring the strand of Heart Turbidity hair I gave you back then?"

"Of course, it's here with me!" Li Huowang cut his stomach with a knife and took out the black spindle directly.

Had Zhuge Yuan not said so today, Li Huowang wouldn't have known that the spindle was actually wrapped with a strand of Heart Turbidity hair.

Looking at the black spindle in his hand, and then at the other person's alternating expressions of pain and relief while holding his stomach, Li Huowang laughed, seeing that the other party hadn't guessed he had been hiding something inside his belly.

Li Huowang put the spindle back into his bosom and turned to Zhuge Yuan, saying, "Brother Zhuge, be careful, this Oblivion Path is not ordinary, he deceives people of their abilities."

"You needn't say more, this young scholar has already understood," Zhuge Yuan said, retracting his folding fan and pulling a Judge's Pen straight out from his sleeve.

Li Huowang watched intently, truly eager to know just how formidable this Zhuge Yuan, who could kill Fa Cai, was.

Seeing the man from the Oblivion Path take a half step back, Li Huowang smirked internally, thinking, now you know fear? Where was this earlier? How dare you impersonate me.

Immediately after, Li Huowang saw Zhuge Yuan put his hands together and bow slightly in his direction, then lightly raised the Judge's Pen in his hand and pointed it at his left leg.

Li Huowang instantly lost all sensation in his left leg and stumbled to the ground.

Li Huowang looked at Zhuge Yuan with a face full of astonishment; for a moment, he thought he had seen it wrong.

But seeing Zhuge Yuan raising the Judge's Pen towards him again, he realized that he hadn't been mistaken, Zhuge Yuan was indeed making a move against him!

"What are you doing! That person is from the Oblivion Path!!" Li Huowang shouted in extreme anguish.

Zhuge Yuan's Judge's Pen pointed again, and Li Huowang lost sensation in his entire lower body.

Filled with a strong unwillingness, Li Huowang's face twisted hysterically as he yelled at the Zhuge Yuan before him, "You're deceiving me! All the goodwill you expressed to me before was a lie! You're in cahoots with the Oblivion Path!"

Facing Li Huowang's accusations, Zhuge Yuan, with a smile, didn't intend to say anything. His Judge's Pen then pointed to Li Huowang's neck.

"I can't die! They're all waiting for me! After all the hardships I've endured, I absolutely cannot die a lowly death here!!"

Li Huowang, unwilling to give up, struggled, but when the Judge's Pen traced a circle around his head, his body stiffened, devoid of any life.

"Thud!" Li Huowang's body fell heavily to the ground, and the black spindle rolled from his hand, slowly reaching Zhuge Yuan's feet.

He took out a white handkerchief to pick up the bloodied spindle and handed it to the other Li Huowang.

This Li Huowang stuffed the spindle back into his stomach, walked over to the corpse, and used a knife to lift the man's facial skin.

After rifling through the several layers of face skin, he found the bald, bearded man who had been the best at cards on the boat and who had died in the sea.

"Brother Zhuge, it seems the Oblivion Path really thought he was me before."
