Vol.6 Chapter 3 - As the Villain and the Monster
Part 1 – Monster Quest Refusal
In the western continent, nay the entire continent, there were generally two types of land.
One which was occupied by humans and other similar races like Elves, Dwarves and now even Orcs. Though they vary with those 4 races with humans have large cities, elves in deep forests, dwarves deep underground and Orcs with settlements; these places were also the homes of many players.
The other type were the ones occupied by monsters of all sorts. If you examine the second type, you would see that they function similar to Kingdoms with a certain prominent race with a leader leading them like Kings. Unlike the other races, these territory were not inhabited by players and were in fact often attacked by them. However despite this, the monsters keep on coming back every time they are beaten down.
But the recent events in the western continent, caused these monster lands to join up together. This was an unprecedented event except for rare cases of a few monster races joining up to attack a large treat.
It was different this time. They did not attack due to fear or safety. They attacked to conquer.
For the first time, the monsters wanted land and they were willing to join together and attack together.
However this was not due to a whim decision or a move of fate.
It was more of a consequence but just an expected result.
The once shattered monsters were forced up next to each other via migration leading to several monster races coming into contact with other.
The reason of why this happened was because 2 large Kingdoms completely expelled all monsters out of their Kingdoms into a land already fallen into ruin without anyone to keep them in check.
This to the human Kingdoms was a good idea since they, the monsters would weaken each other before they would swipe in for the kill. It was known that the human like monsters and beast like monsters disliked each other and often fought to the point of extermination.
But what if the monsters did not kill each other? What if they joined together? Such an army filled with all the horrors of a fairytale turned bad could potentially destroy these 2 Kingdoms.
But those 2 Kings did not worry about it. It was not their problem yet.
After all, it is at the land where a great Kingdom once was, that was shattered into tiny pieces where the monsters were driven to.
The lands of the 2 great Kingdoms of the Western Continent would not be attacked so easily. After all they could use the remains of this fallen Kingdom in order to protect themselves. There was no need to fear at all.
And this is why I am in this kind of situation right now.
Claim land for the Monster Army
The monster army has requested for you, one of the Dragon Kin to lead them into battle and reclaim their land that has been stolen for countless generations by the humans. Doing so will cause you to become the enemy of humans but in exchange, you will gain maximum familiarity with all monster species if you succeed. Rank: A Requirement: Non-human species Restrictions: Area you claimed must be held for long periods of time without being recaptured Reward: Increase Familiarity with all Monster Species |
"I refuse"
To be honest, I have been getting a lot of these kinds of requests lately.
You have refused the quest |
Relationship with monsters have decreased |
Hmm? There was a relationship factor with monsters as well?
"Why? Don't you hate those humans as well?" asked one of the human like monsters that had green and blue scales and looked a bit similar to a fish with legs.
"I rather not care for them but its true for your kind as well. Have you noticed that I don't discriminate on who I kill. Its just that there had been more humans, elves and so on when I was fighting" I replied back.
It was the honest true but I could feel the tension in the air rising. There was a good chance that I would be attacked if I move wrongly.
Right now, I was surrounded by monsters. No, they're not attacking me but rather requesting me to help them. I know its unbelievable but I AM one of the Dragon Race now.
Lizard men, wolves, bears and even cute rabbits were gathered around me in a circle. They were split into two factions. Those who were human like in nature and those who were beast like in nature. A curious fact is that the human like ones had more scales while the beast like ones had more fur on their bodies.
One of the smaller creature, a small animal that resembled a kitten walked up to me.
I had to resist the urge to huge this thing in front of me, it was how cute it was.
"Please, they are destroying everything they touch. The forests become wastelands, lands filled with only death and they build grand structures on the homes of our ancestors. They ignore the calls of the Gods that we live under as well whom are pleading them to stop" said the kitten.
The other monsters nodded their head to this statement.
"Gods?" I asked.
I haven't heard about any Gods in this area.
"Yes, those they are not in the shape of humans, they are certainly Gods."
Hmm...in that case, the spirit that Viv is contracted with would be one of those kind of Gods.
"Do they live in the immortal realm or on this continent?" I asked once more.
"?"
The Kitten looked confused as well as the others who were listening in.
I coughed and started the conversation back again before it derailed any more than it did.
"I think humans refer to your Gods to something similar to Spirits. Also I think there is a fundamental difference that prevents them from hearing your 'Gods'. I rather not go into detail about it."
To be honest, when these monsters came up to me and requested for help resulting in a quest window being given to me, I thought I was going insane.
I mean, how often did the things you killed countless times before stop and talk to you, let alone request for your help?
"I really have no business here now so I'm leaving" waving my hand to them, started to walk away.
But then, they decided to stop and shouted at once at me.
"The humans are driving us to extinction!"
"Our homes, our children will burn at this rate!"
"As one of the proud Dragon Race, don't you feel anything?!"
Then anger spiked up in my head. With a 'bit' of rage, I looked back at them not knowing that Dragon Transformation activated on its own and said;
"Why the hell should I help you lot? If you don't want to die, get lost!"
The monster group backed away and lowered their heads mostly in fear and then decided to ignore me.
"Then, we just have to strike first then."
One of the werewolves with human speech took charge and shouted in the air.
"Raid the humans! Take back our land!"
The the rest screamed in fighting spirit.
"Rooooooooooar!"
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
"Garrrrrrrrrrrrr!"
On one hand, I rather not get involved in this, but on the other hand this seems interesting enough to watch. It would be like movie night...if I ever had a movie night.
It's not everyday where monsters of all kinds ally together for a common cause. Even the ones who hate each other got friendly like this. However I knew that the ending would be the same no matter what.
The monsters will lose.
They might be able to do so much but then the hero, the players in other words will rise up and defeat them.
It was always like this.
The story always ended like this.
Then I wondered what difference there was between humans and monster.
Was simply that one side was being suppressed and called evil that the players allied themselves with other human NPCs and those other races?
No.
It was because the players were human. And they could not bear to think that they were the evil ones.
Everyone likes to play the nice guy. The 'hero' that will protect everyone. But people also want to play the villain, its just harder in this virtual world where everything is too real.
In the 2 years I've been in this 'game', I never felt that I was evil nor did I feel like I was the 'hero'. It was simple due to the fact that I was not delusional at all with this stuff.
Plus a 'hero' would not have people run away when I look at them with my eyes.
A 'hero' would not have as much infamy as I do.
But a 'hero' would not be able to do what I do.
They would not kill in order to move forward. They would not dirty their hands for others or themselves.
As such I am not a 'hero' but what am I?
I walked to the top of the hill where I would get a good view of the upcoming battle. With this thought, I sat and watched the upcoming battles that would change this world for a while.
"Creation Magic..."
And created a chair to sit on to relax for the upcoming chaos.
Part 2 – The monsters Invade
It was in the middle of night when the monster group led by werewolves who had the most numbers attacked. The closest town with no more than a hundred residents had no chance nor time to even run.
"Awooooooooooooooooo!"
The werewolves roared into the moon lit night. It was at that moment, the guards of this small town knew something was wrong and prepared for battle. They were not the strongest and not the weakest of the lot, but had duty in their hearts to protect this town.
"Ahhh!"
"What the-"
They were the first to be slain tonight. Their throats bitten through by sharp fangs.
Then came the small Kobolds and Goblins that came rushing in with numbers, breaking down doors and walls to kill the humans within. While they were more than a match for the defenceless townsfolk, they were not against the players that rested at the inn.
At this time, there were 3 or 4 parties of players at this town. It was a small number compared to more popular places but, these players were experience enough to fight against overwhelming odds.
"Group together!"
"Don't get separated!"
"Protect the healers!"
The 4 groups quickly gathered together and pushed back the Kobolds and Goblins. A mere 20 players faced against hundreds of foes, it was a battle of time. They would fight until reinforcement arrived.
But these reinforcement were not NPCs but players. The town was surrounded and no one escaped. By 3 hours into battle, all of the NPCs were dead. And by another hour, the players too were dead.
This was the first town that fell victim to the invasion of all sorts of creatures.
The next day, those who visited were met with a monster army that quickly eliminated a large portion of the players that visited. This continued several times as the monster army went forward and conquered several small villages at a time with their vast numbers that would dwarf even a relatively large army.
"We will push back these monsters back from they came!" shouted a knight in shining armour.
His appearance was one of a natural leader and furthermore a natural hero.
He commanded a large group of players and NPCs that were quickly gathered in order to fight. In total I would say they numbered around 1000. It was pretty large since the majority of them were players and it was quite difficult to make them move together.
But the army they were facing was too frightening.
In particular, this group was monsters were beasts that were similar to monkeys or gorillas. Their human like bodies with thumbs allowed them to control human inventions like the bow. And this made it dangerous.
As such, before the battle even began, nay the battle began with hundreds of arrows flying down towards the humans.
"Ahhh!"
"Attack!"
"Take them down!"
However the morale of the human army did not decrease but rather increased. It was simple. Monsters such as the ones they faced had to be rare ones since they could use bows. As such, the rewards and experience they would get by slaying such creatures would increase dramatically.
As such they charged at the hill and forest where the monsters lied.
But the players were not prepared for this army.
In the hundreds and from the forest uphill came a charge of lizard men bearing spears downwards at a fast pace that was naturally higher than humans.
In one swift action, the front guard of the human army was destroyed.
But lizard men were around level 50-100. They were no match for most of the players and as such, when their speed and surprise tactic was gone, they were quickly slain.
The players had killed over 300 lizard men in a few minutes. But still, around 100 players died in that moment.
Then the second volley of arrows came down.
The players were forced to battle uphill with arrows raining down on them. Priests and Clerics blessed the players which reduced the amount of deaths but it simply allowed more stamina to be used up as the waves of lizard men increased.
By the time the players led by the Knight commander, they had slain well over a 1000 lizard men which was an accomplishment itself. But such thoughts disappeared as the final stretch of this battle moved closer.
The players had two options.
One was to confront the monsters in the forest.
The second was to burn the forest.
They chose the second option and the forest was set a blazed.
Then a strange thing happened.
The forest moved and attacked.
The trees that they thought to be trees were in fact Ents. The tree folk that had great strength and vitality.
Defending themselves from the human attack with fire, the Ents quickly swept the players away with their tree claws reducing the human army essentially destroyed with only those who escaped in time to live.
At the same time as this, there were numerous other battles that were taking place.
Several more small coalition armies were formed and set out to take back the land they lost to the monster army. But all of them ended in failure in a sense. While they killed more than they lost, they were unable to reclaim their lost lands and in fact, they lost more land due to having less soldiers to defend towns and cities.
The core of which NPCs and players called home was taken away.
This would mean it would be highly difficult to travel about in these areas now.
To make sense of this, the current situation of the Western Continent must be explained. Before, there were three large Kingdoms that practically was the Western Continent with a few smaller Kingdoms bowing before them. In the centre of the western continent, they were split into three sides.
One Kingdom to the north, called Mortem had mountain lands were it was said Dragons lived. The order of the Golden Phoenix was the main religion there. The Kingdom had a strong archer build which made up most of their forces. The higher elevated lands made them the ideal defenders and home of many normals.
To the South-West was the Kingdom of Seisin which had large seas that housed countless sea life. The Church of the Heavenly Trio was their main religion where the Trident, Spear and Net were their weapon of choice. As such this Kingdom was strong in Naval battles and had large ships that also served for good Sea Trade as well.
And finally to the South-East was where the once Kingdom of Ruption was. The Master of the Lion was their main religion and blessed their men with strong bodies. This Kingdom was once known for its strong infantry and also specialised in Land Trading to the Central Continent.
These three Kingdoms were perfectly balanced against each other as they wage war towards one another. If one Kingdom attacked another, the one that was not in war would step in and attack the first stopping the war. This stalemate caused the Western Continent to be mostly peaceful.
But the balance was broken with the fall of the Master of Lion religion. This caused the other two religion to attack the King of Ruption and cause it to fall apart. The shattered Kingdom was then attacked by both Kingdom of Mortem and Seisin at the same time ending it.
So right now, the Kingdoms of Mortem and Seisin gained new lands at their borders while the rest were split into tiny factions among former nobles. Amongst these factions include the monsters that were pulled from both Kingdoms into this land of ruin. This faction was in the more eastern part of the Western Continent where there were more forests and swamps. The monsters were invading north and west now intending to take over the once land of Ruption....or at least that's what I'm thinking their trying to do.
Within the next couple of weeks, the monsters practically took over half of the fallen Kingdom slaughtering everything in their way.
The map was repainted in the colours of the monster army which reduced all human structures into rubble.
At this rate, the 2 Kingdoms Mortem and Seisin had to act soon. Else their lands would be threatened as well.
"Eden, we are getting a large number of requests to stop this monster invasion. What are to do?" asked one of members of the Guild of Shadows.
It was the one who could make copies of himself. It seems he was worried about the current situation.
It was understandable since we as a guild deal with humans and without humans means less work.
That in turn means less income and eventually we will be forced to disband.
"Do nothing" I replied with little concern over the humans who were being driven out and the fact that our income was being killed.
I have great plans for the future.
All of this chaos will just accelerate my plans.
My plans of killing a King.
It was something forced on me but I will nevertheless at least partly enjoy doing it.
In fact, I'm going one step further and am going to make a King, one who captures of the hearts of the people and kill him.
Why I would do this?
Consider this; one of three of the most noticeable Kings in the Western Continent is dead.
That would mean the other two would be more guarded than usual.
But I could also take down one of the other smaller Kings in the western continent.
The trouble is that they are more like high ranking Dukes than Kings.
I rather not take the chance that I would have to do extra work when I find out the person I killed is not a King but some Duke or Count! That would immediately make my work 10 times harder with the 2 Kings that are certain to be able to complete my quest putting even more security in.
Even I can't take on an entire armed city. I'm not strong enough to do that and get out alive yet.
"Why?" those words came out of.....well I'll call him Clone for now.
"Hmm?"
Clone was still there staring at me who was observing another battle between monsters and humans.
This time the humans had the advantage with numbers but the monsters were using the natural land to their advantage which was interesting enough to watch.
"Why, do you not help the people? With your strength, you could take on all of them. Even we of the Guild of Shadow could do it for you" said Clone compassionately which was very strange for an assassin.
"Reason is simple. The monsters before the attacks, came up to me and requested my help."
"Then..." A sad look crossed his face which was half covered by a mask.
I shook my head denying that I accepted the quest.
"I naturally rejected them since it was too much of a pain to create territory for them. Also I am aware of the Guild's condition and what would happen if I accepted such a job."
Clone stared at me with respect. It seems my relationship with him increased.
"But it still does not explain on why you insist on everyone not to move. We exist to protect the people in the shadows." his words had a sense of pride in it.
I should make note to not use him for dirty means.
"Well....another reason I'm not doing anything is that I am simply watching how far both humans and monsters will go. How long till the Kingdoms of Mortem and Seisin move and how long until the monsters get pushed back."
"Then...."
"Don't worry, I'm not on any side. That would be unprofessional right now."
"In that case, why did you deny the monster army's request to lead them?" Clone asked.
Ah...the reason is a pretty good one but I rather not tell him since I might crush his heart if I do tell him.
I better make up a lie then.
"Because I want to live a peaceful life later on. I can't when my reputation is of a monster leading an army to destroy home can I? Ha."
"..."
(I think you already establish yourself as that) (*Note this is the thoughts that Eden can't hear)
Part 3 – The True Reason
Several more weeks later, several coalitions made up of soldiers and knights from the Kingdoms of Mortem and Seisin came and started fighting the monsters at mass.
"The Kings of both Kingdoms have made their move in order to suppress the Monster Army that terrorist the Western Continent." said a lady that was from Korea.
I was at a bar right now and watching T.V with other players.
"Also, several Guilds and Mercenaries players have volunteered immediately when both Kingdoms asked for assistance in this effort. This immediate support would mean greater growth for both Kingdoms while the Fallen Kingdom of Ruption would stabilise under the rule of several Guilds." continued the woman.
It was kinda ironic since they were the ones who caused this in the first place and now they are acting as the 'saviour' of the people. It was too funny that I couldn't laugh.
I silently drank this beer that was actually orange juice to me with the under age filter system while watching the battles on screen.
There were 4 main armies each made up of thousands of men. Backing them were the churches of their lands as well. In fact, Alexandra was leading one of the coalition armies to battle as I speak.
I Eden, sat watching over all of this.
The battle was heading towards its final stretch and that means my job starts here.
I opened up the quest that I was assigned via the Guild of Shadows.
Destroy the Monster Nest that inhabit of once Kingdom of Ruption
On request via the Guild of Shadows, you the leader have taken on the request to destroy the monster nest that has been building up and causing an abnormal amount of monsters to pour out of the Forbidden Forest areas. Eliminate them all to collect your reward. Rank: A Requirement: Request sent to Guild of Shadows Restrictions: None Reward: Unknown |
This was the real reason why I didn't accept the request from the monsters. It was that someone else got to me first!
Muhahahahahahahahahahaha.
Right now, the young, weak and sick are gathered together in the other end of the armies and and all I have to do is kill them all!
Well I suppose I better do my job now.
Part 4 – The Churches Victory Battle
"Commander, the monster army is right in front of us by around a few kilometres. They outnumber us 10 to 1. It will be a very difficult battle."
I, Alexandra was given command of one of 4 coalition armies that numbered around a few thousand.
This one to particular was made up with most men that were related to the churches. Over half of army were either Paladins or Priests which in turn enchanted their abilities with me leading them thanks to some special skills.
In particular, the ones from the churches that lent their men were split into two groups.
The one from the Order of the Golden Phoenix which used holy flame to purify undead or bless others.
And the Church of the Heavenly Trio which were skilled at close combat on both land and sea able to take down large beasts on their own.
As a result of their nature, the majority of the priests came from the Golden Phoenix church while the main source of paladins came from the Heavenly Trio church.
While one would suspect that they would not get along due to their rivalry, they were surprisingly familiar which each other....especially when I got near.
"Commander Alexandra! I was...." one of them would say.
The other eyed him and quickly added in, "helping me train when monsters try to attack me!" before both running off away from me.
I looked to the Vic-Commander for advice.
"They are afraid of you."
"What?!"
I slammed the table. Why the hell would anyone be afraid of me?!
"MONSTERS ARE ATTACKING!"
What?! Already?!
Damn, I still haven't buffed this army yet. Better start now.
"Banding Light of Dust!"
Banding Light of Dust is active
Number of Church Denomination in Army: 2 Holy Spells power +20% Strength +20% Agility +20% Time Limit: 4 Hours |
Light and Holy Flames surrounded the army with power.
"Battle Cry!"
Battle cry is active
Morale increased of army is increased by 20% Strength increased of army is increased by 20% |
"Crusader March!"
Crusader March is active
Movement speed of army is increased by 15% |
I was only able to get those buffs in for the army before the first wave of monsters, which were beast men attacked the front lines of paladins.
"Deflect them!" I ordered.
The paladins with shields all as a group smashed their shields into the beast men which caused them to fly back hitting the ones behind them.
Soon after, the other beast men ran over their comrades to charge through to our army. It was a frightening sight due to their sheer numbers. The ones that were trampled over were a mere 1% of their army.
So this is what its like to face an army of 30 000.....though we are lucky that our army's average level is higher than theirs.
According to the reports from before, the monster army in front of us consisted of beast men of different variety and had an average level of around 200. Our army however had an average level of around 250 with the ones from the church of an average level of 300 while the other soldiers at an average level of 200 which evens out.
"Priests use Fire to protect the front line!"
The priests from the Order of the Golden Phoenix chanted and the front army was covered in flames that damaged the monsters when they came near.
Then they proceeded to cast spells that shot fire into the enemy further causing them to fall in chaos.
A hour of this, I decided to lessen the load on the paladins a bit.
"Knights will go to the left flanks"
A group of around a hundred knights on horses, separated from the main army and ran around to attack the monsters that was nearest to the front lines.
Their destructive power could be felt as they continued to slay monsters at mass while retreating and charging over and over again.
Another hour passed as the numbers of monsters fell by the tens per second.
"Monsters gathering at the right flank!"
I looked to the right and around a thousand beast men gathered to attack from the side.
"Soldiers and what not, make sure the monsters don't get to the priests!"
Around 500 men that were armed in various ways accepted the command and blocked off the path to the priests next to the paladins at the centre.
"Commander, the monsters are attacking from both flanks now" said the Vic-Commander.
I looked to my left and right and saw that the monsters were slowly surrounding us with sheer numbers. Our defence circle was being consumed by beast men left, right and centre.
If they completely surrounded us, then even retreat would be impossible. We would all die at this rate.
"Slowly Retreat while fighting. We need to draw them in a tight area so we don't get surrounded."
With those words, the army under my command in a half moon formation slowly back away from the monster army while fighting.
There was two reasons for this.
The first was to make sure we were not surrounded completely.
The second was to get to a place where we would have an advantage or stall for time until reinforcement come.
But I doubt either of those will happen at this rate.
The monsters have been raiding the priests for a while now and the blessing that the army had was disappearing quickly with not enough priests left.
Seeing that the army was already in bad shape I said to the Vic-commander, "I'm going to cover the retreat" and then charged at the Monster Army.
"Crusader Sprint!"
Agility is boosted for 10 Seconds |
I ran to the place that had the most monsters to distract them.
Running at high speeds to them, I shouted the skill that was most familiar to me as I landed towards the monsters.
"SWORD WAVE!"
BANG
Sliding on the ground as I landed, I immediately started my attack against the endless waves of monsters.
I should be able to hold out for a while at least.
My health was on the higher side of around 60 000 while my mana was 10 000 which was really high for someone like me. Plus my defence was also pretty high as well.
"Holy Aura!"
Holy Aura is now active
Amplify Strength and Speed: 3 times Decrease damage amount: 50% |
This was truly the gem of all the skills I have thank to the fact that it not only makes me 3 times stronger, it also reduces the damage on me by half.
Unfortunately its already max out in level so it can't get any stronger but I bet a lot of people would want this variation of Holy Aura that came with my class.
"Cleave Blow!"
Smashing my sword into one of the monsters near and and dragging the blow out, I swept away a couple of monsters in a blast as well.
"Let the stars fall into dust. The eternal world remains and the mortal world weeps. Starlight Beam!"
Shooting the beam, I managed to aggravate some more monsters into attacking me. Right now it was me facing a few thousand monster non stop....haha.
BOOOOOOOOM
There was a loud sound in the distance.
Then something strange happened.
Half of the monster army retreated and ran to where the blast was. The rest had the feeling of fear on them.
Plus there was a weird cloud near that forest....
But this gave me a chance to take care of these guys more easily.
"Light Warrior!"
Manifesting as a skeleton, 2 hands appeared near me and slammed down the monsters with great force. Continuing to battle, another hand appeared and then bones and so on until a warrior made of light appear.
However this Light Warrior was incomplete.
The reason was simple.
I didn't have enough mana to sustain it for long.
As such it was in its skeleton form with less power than normal.
But it was enough to strike fear into the monster.
However I wondered; what was that large noise and why was the monsters so afraid of it.
Part 5 – As the Villain of the Story
Right now I was covered in the remains of countless monsters.
The coalition nearby led by Alexandra was facing an army 10 times its size. Even Alexandra could not possibly overcome this on her own. But there was a chance since she was the Holy Templar that was literally the representation of the Gods that are my enemies.
But right now, I Eden am taking care of my side of this business.
Most of the monster nest was destroyed.
As such most of my quest was complete. All I need is to make sure nothing gets out of here alive.
"This is certainly a surprise" I said sarcastically at the sight.
In front of me was a giant snake, bear and crow.
They were easily 10 metres tall.
The snake was coloured pure white, the bear was a darken grey and the crow was pitch black.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
Facing Gods, stats increased by 30% |
It seems like these guys are Gods.
"Destroyer, retreat and we will spare your lives" said the snake in a tone that was hard to make out the words.
I smiled at these words.
Retreat?
Me?
[I to awaken am the Tyrant whom stole the throne of God]
The 3 Gods backed away as I started the chant.
[I devour the wisdom and rip apart the Knowledge]
[I will become the Magic King that rules over all Creation]
[And I will show you true Despair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
There was a slight pause before the Golden Aura truly burst out of my body.
[Magic King Drive!!!!!!!!]
Magic King Drive has been Activated
- Spell Damage Increase by 150% - Spell Range Increase by 140% - Freely able to use the Elements at Will - Strength Increase by 140% - Agility Increase by 150% - Movement Speed Increase by 120% - Defence Increase by 100% - Able to use 'Golden Weapon Trio' Freely in this state - Resistance to Magic Increases by 40% (Maximum Magic Resistance is 99%) Time Limit: Until the Body breaks down and dies |
Thanks to this skill being in intermediate level, there were several changes in the skill.
The first was that the time limit was essentially removed since it would only stop forcefully when I died.
The second was that it had more effects which increased by combat abilities a lot, especially that part where I can freely use the elements and Golden weapons at will.
And to think it was still at Intermediate Level 1.
It was actually quite difficult to get it to this point since I had a short time limit and rarely used it anyway.
"I see that this is the only way...prepare yourself!" shouted the Bear as it charged at me, banishing its large black claws at me.
I jumped back saying, "Dragon Transformation" casually as I turned into the half humanoid form.
Scales appear all over my body and even a tail and wings appeared.
While I really don't get why I can't fly using the wings, I simply used them to propel myself in any direction in the air which was really not flying since I could only stay in the air for a few seconds before falling to the ground.
The crow flew in the air while the snake slithered quickly on the ground head butting me hard.
You took 81258 damage |
These guys are seriously strong. If it weren't for the fact that I had double mana plus rapid regeneration, I would be dead.
I can't keep on allowing them to attack me indefinitely.
I decided to take care of the snake first.
Ice Formation ? Spear Form ? Ice Spear
"Ice Spears!"
With this command, I created several Ice Spears in the air and shot them at the snake.
The snake, being extremely quick easily dodged them.
In that case, I'll trap it.
Ice Formation ? Wall Form ? Ice Wall
"Ice Walls!"
Creating 4 large Ice Walls, the snake was encased but it would probably break out easily.
Ice Formation ? Explode Factor ? Ice Explosion
"Ice Explosion!"
Detonating the Ice walls, the Snake was centre of the explosion.
Dealt double damage to the White Snake God |
Critical Hit! |
With that the Snake died.
You killed the White Snake God
- All stats increased by 10 - Fighting Spirit increased by 15 - Domination increase by 5 - Scales will increase in density resulting in increased defence and agility - Snake Creatures will fear you - Poison Resistance increased by 10% |
You have levelled up |
You have levelled up |
You have levelled up |
... |
I felt the scales that were on my body to harden and increase in flexibility when I saw that message.
"Damn You!"
The Bear came running at me again. Does this thing know nothing but to charged?
"Golden Swords!"
I shot Golden Swords at the Bear as it charged at me. Several Swords broke on impact and there were a few that pierced through its thick fur.
I looked up and saw the Crow spiralling down at me at high speeds.
"Dance of Water!"
Dance of Water is now active |
Dodging the blow barely by dodging I was faced with the Bear at close combat now.
The Bear swung down at me before I leaped away.
Bang
The ground cracked.
The Bear took a second swing at me while I was in the air.
Slush
I dodged it again by using my wings to move away quickly.
Then it ran quickly at me and tried to crush me.
I slipped away under the attack.
Using my Aura to gather strength, I punched the Bear in the stomach.
BANG
Critical Hit! |
And then dodged the attacks again. I didn't even have time to draw my sword.
In that case, I just had to fire swords at this thing.

With that, the claws on my hands increased in size and turned black. I could feel that they were a lot sharper than before in this state with my fingers being like blades.
I looked up in the sky where the final God was. Now there was only one.
The Crow in the sky that didn't attack in fear of its friend.
"Curse you!" shouted the Crow before throwing wind at me that sliced the ground.
Lightning Formation ? Shower Form ? Lightning Shower
"Lightning Shower"
The the increased power and range thanks to Magic King Drive, I covered a large portion of the forest with Lightning Shower which continued to drop Lightning Bolts down.
The Crow however easily dodged those attacks even though it should be impossible to move faster than Lightning in this world. I suppose its something about predicting.
Ice Formation ? Spear Form ? Ice Spear
"Ice Spears"
I decided to fire Spears of Ice from under the Crow as well to take it down.
I checked my mana and it was at a steady 40 000 now thanks to me using two spells at once like this. I'm reaching my limit.
Have to take this Crow down with a Big Bang now.
I cancelled the Ice Spear spell to prepare for another spell.
Neutral Formation ? AOE factor ? Gravity Factor ? Amplify Factor ? Gravity Hell
I copied a spell I saw before and used it on the giant crow.
"Gravity Hell"
With one motion, the gravity around the Crow increased several fold and the Crow slammed down to the ground immediately.
Fire Formation ? Ball Form ? Enlarge factor ? Explode Factor ? Great Exploding Fireball
I created and shot a giant fireball which exploded on contact at it.
BANG
Fire Formation ? Tower Form ? Fire Tower
I burnt it from underneath using a Fire Tower.
Fire Formation ? Wave Form ? Expand Form ? Fire Wave
And continued to cook it using a Fire Wave.
Next I need some protection.
Neutral Formation ? Mana Shield
Creating a shell, the fire wouldn't touch me now.
Fire Formation ? AOE Factor ? Explode Factor ? Fire Explosion
BOOOOOOOOM
The whole area went out in a flash.

I checked my status window after this and added in the new points I got.
I levelled up 40 times by just killing 3 Gods, plus the 5 times from the quest. I should hunt some more down later if it levels me up that quickly. Also it seemed my mana increased to 70 000 as well thanks to these rapid level ups.
