Chapter 709: Let's talk about it later
It's just that he didn't dare to say it directly. Su Jinyu was his superior, and if she got upset, his position might be at risk.
"Officer Su Jinyu, take care and enjoy yourself."
Su Jinyu was at a loss. Old Liu was acting strange today; she was here for an investigation, not sightseeing, yet it was presented this way.
The two arrived at the place where the car was abandoned.
"Is this the final clue location? Didn't use a hunting dog to track it?" Luo Chao asked, looking at the map. There were quite a few lakes around here.
Although these places were remote, people occasionally came here to play.
"It's right here. But when we found this place, it had rained before, making it difficult to find those things."
Luo Chao nodded; scents can be detected, but some things are definitely impossible to remove.
Just pay a little attention, and conclusions can easily be drawn. Cause and effect really operate like this in this world.
Luo Chao strolled casually, and Su Jinyu followed him, but she suddenly realized something. She and Luo Chao were now alone together, and she was a beauty; would Luo Chao have any inappropriate thoughts?
But she was quite capable in a fight. Let alone Luo Chao, a high school student, even several SWAT officers wouldn't be her match.
"It's around here." Luo Chao arrived at a large lake. The area around the lake was all rocks, looking sturdy. But is it possible for a suspect to hide in such a place?
"You're not joking, are you? Plus, how could a suspect hide here?" Looking around, there was really no place to hide.
The entire lake was water, and the suspects couldn't possibly stay submerged all the time.
Luo Chao didn't say a word and jumped straight down. Su Jinyu was stunned, what was this kid trying to do? She originally wanted to follow him, but the clothes she was wearing today were just ordinary ones, not suitable for going down.
But is there really something down there? Although she didn't know why Luo Chao was so sure, since he dared to jump down, he must have some confidence.
Though Luo Chao seemed to wander aimlessly, he hadn't walked the same path twice and came straight to this place.
"Hey, Old Liu, I'm near the lake at this location, quickly send someone over for support. Suspects may have been found, remember to bring life jackets and diving suits."
Old Liu was dumbfounded; did Officer Su really come out without taking her medication today? Asking him to bring such things, did the suspect drown himself?
Surely it's impossible, after all, the suspect stole so much money, how could he possibly commit suicide?
Luo Chao dove into the water, and he clearly felt something attracting him. The cultivation technique began to operate slowly, and he slightly isolated the surrounding water.
And soon he saw a cave. Despite being underwater, it quite clearly had no water inside.
It wasn't that no water entered, but the amount of water entering had been controlled.
The water entering this cave was diverted elsewhere. In the meantime, the suspects lived inside, seeming carefree.
"Damn it, I already went to check, and below is a cave exit. I can't believe we came here." The man laughed. If he'd known there was a cave, he'd have never needed to dive.
This place was indeed amazing; clearly underwater, with a cave that wasn't flooded—nature's wonders.
Luo Chao quietly sneaked in and had subdued the people before they even realized he was there.
The entire cave was brightly lit, obviously someone's retreat, but now this place was uninhabited.
The cave had no writing, but a ring was placed in a conspicuous location. Although there were traces of cutting around it, obviously no one had been able to take it out.
"This is it, the thing I felt." Looking at it, Luo Chao felt it was somehow connected to him.
Things connected by fate must be recognized as master by blood, and this one was subtly calling him, surely a treasure.
A drop of blood fell on it. With no reaction initially. He thought it failed this time, but in the blink of an eye, the blood disappeared, and the ring directly fitted onto Luo Chao's finger.
But the ring now seemed to flicker, almost feeling non-existent. If Luo Chao didn't have a bit of strength, he couldn't have managed it.
"There's a cave here? Really amazing. Why is a cave this big submerged only partly, and you can see inside clearly."
Swimming along the stream inside, the bright lights were surprising; it was truly a paradise hiding spot.
"Are these people the suspects?" Seeing the people on the ground, Su Jinyu asked curiously. The Luminous Pearl wasn't the focus anymore.
Luo Chao nodded; these were the robbers, the money was here too. A group tied them up.
"Can we still get out?" Seeing the place, though they could swim back, carrying these few people was definitely impossible; the only exit was the passage behind.
"No problem, heard it leads to another cave, and you can exit from there." Luo Chao explained; he overheard these people talking about it.
"I see, then let's go." Though curious about this place, the suspects needed to be brought back, crucial indeed.
Some assumed Su Jinyu brought her boyfriend here for other reasons, given organizational rules, going to a hotel would cause issues for sure.
But now, they realized it was for the case; it was resolved quickly, showing Su Jinyu's boyfriend had a knack for police work.
"Hey young man, join us, you really have a knack for being a cop, it'd be a shame if you don't."
Old Liu said with a smile.
"Mr. Liu, you're too kind, I'm just a kid. I don't know about the future, let's talk about it later."
