The Twelve Heroes

Chapter 12: chapter 12: Iko

The battle raged with a ferocity he had never imagined. The God Thalor lunged at us, and Rin's piercing scream echoed through the air. I saw her fall, her right leg severed, and in an instant, the darkness of the crevasse swallowed her. Horror took over my senses, my legs trembled with fear, I couldn't move them as I watched my brothers face this divine being, whose fury seemed inexhaustible.

Daichi was consumed by rage, a whirlwind of emotions that led him to attack Thalor mercilessly but everything seemed to be in vain.

- Daichi: You bastard, what did you do to my sister?! I'm going to kill you! Aaaaah!

His scream was like an echo of our desperation. Every blow he struck was a cry for revenge, an attempt to recover what had been lost. The fight between them became increasingly intense, a clash of titans where resistance and strength were the only weapons. Thalor, with his overwhelming power, counterattacked with accurate blows, but Daichi did not give up.

Meanwhile, Catter, Aiko and I were fighting Draekon. The pressure was immense, and I felt fatigue beginning to weigh on my extremities. Aiko, with her limited magic, knew that time was against her.

- Aiko: Shit, I can't keep going like this... I only have 5 minutes before my body overheats...

The anguish in his voice filled me with worry. I knew I had to act quickly, but Draekon was cunning and dodged our attacks with surprising agility. Every move he made seemed to mock our efforts.

The battle became darker. Daichi continued to fight Thalor, but fate was not kind. Daichi's sword shattered in an instant, and I watched as Thalor pierced his abdomen. The scene stopped in my mind, like a painting that I couldn't erase.

- Daichi: Ken! Quickly, cut off this God's head immediately! Come on!*

Daichi's scream echoed through me, but the horror intensified as I saw Ken fall before Draekon, who disarmed him in one swift motion. Helplessness invaded me. I couldn't believe that one by one, my brothers fell into the crack. Mei was also thrown away, and my heart sank even more.

- Iko: Damn, we were so confident...

Desperation took hold of me as Aiko fell to the ground, but within seconds she got back up. The scene was heartbreaking; Only Catter, Aiko and I were left.

With each hit I received from Thalor, I felt my strength fading but everything got worse until I was able to give him one of my attacks with my sword. The God of War was enraged by losing one of his eyes, and his wrath was unleashed on me.

- Thalor: Damn human, how could you!

Thalor's fury was terrifying, and every blow he received was like a reminder of how fragile our existence was. But I couldn't give up. I had to fight, not only for myself, but for my brothers who had fallen into the rift.

Catter, in a fit of rage, launched himself at Draekon. The image of Aiko on the ground made my blood run cold in the blink of an eye. The God Thalor had cut Aiko in half and threw his body that had been cut in half into the crack in two pieces. I felt like time stopped as Catter faced the God of Chaos. But luck was not on our side. Draekon surprised him, and horror gripped me as I watched Catter be thrown into the rift.

And so, there were only the three of us left, me and the Two Gods. In a last attempt, I lunged at him God Thalor, but his sword plunged into my heart.

With my last bit of strength, I managed to make a slight cut on Draekon's face, he backed away, but it wasn't enough. Desperation washed over me as I felt life fading from me.

- Iko: Shit, is this how I die?

M3 asked as Tears welled up in my eyes as I closed my eyelids.  The moments we spent together passed through my eyes, our childhood, the doctor who created us, our father, I remembered all of that in a few seconds while my eyes closed.

Darkness enveloped me, and the weight of defeat settled in my heart. At that moment, I understood that I had fought with all my might, but fate had decided that this would be the end of my story.
