The Third-Gen Chaebol Becomes a Genius Actor

Chapter 12.1

Translator's note: Manager Park is more like a Managing Director at Halo Media. Hence why his job role is not exactly that of a manager.

Although Yoo Yeon Seo was quite excited, it wasn't as if he could immediately take on a project just because he wanted to.

"All of these scripts were sent to me?"

For one, he only had one body, and he had to sift through the pile of scripts to find one that he liked.

"Why are there so many?"

"Because there are that many desperate people out there."

There wasn't a single script from a popular writer among the stack. Most of them were from new or relatively unknown writers.

Even if they wanted to build a career, newcomers often get pushed aside for more experienced personnel in this industry.

That's why they send scripts to Yoo Yeon Seo out of a desperate desire to catch a break.

"But why are all of them lead roles?"

"You said you wouldn't do it if it wasn't a lead role."

"Really? But I haven't even had a chance to take any lessons yet. It's not a good idea to just blindly take on a lead role…"

Manager Park held his breath. He observed the unusually calm Yeon Seo's face and scrutinized it as if it were something amazing.

He knew that Yeon Seo experienced some memory loss, but his personality had changed so much. ‘Yeon Seo wasn't insisting on being the lead role?'

"Anyway, you'll be the main character on the set, so you can change the role as you like."

The person who successfully adapted the work that Yeon Seo chose for filming and made her debut was recognized in the industry to some extent. However, there were no cases where Yeon Seo was cast for the next work. The reason was that he was too inexperienced in acting.

"What should I choose? Don't you have any good suggestions?"

"Just choose what you want. That's how it has always been."

"If it were me… I would choose based on what I've experienced."

Manager Park gave a piece of worthless advice, but it was different from Lim Seung Hyun. Yeon Seo flicked through the script like a card trick but stopped to consider Lim Seung Hyun's words.

"Based on what I've experienced…?"

"Yes. Wouldn't it make it easier for you to immerse yourself in the role?"

‘Come to think of it, wasn't there a role as a soldier in the script?'

Yoo Yeon Seo quickly searched through the script.

As Lim Seung Hyun had suggested, it would be better for him to take on a familiar role for his first project, as he could always play more diverse roles in the future.

"I found it."

Manager Park and Lim Seung Hyun peered over Yoo Yeon Seo's shoulder. Looking at the script, he had chosen a role that was completely different from what they had expected.

"…a soldier?"

"Why? I served in the military too."

‘Hadn't he completed his mandatory service?' Yoo Yeon Seo asked what the problem was, but Lim Seung Hyun and Manager Park exchanged vague looks.

"But there will be a lot of action scenes in this role, will it be okay?"

No matter what he imagined, Yoo Yeon Seo always delivered more than expected in his acting. He was renowned for his poor pronunciation and body language. His exceptional acting abilities often overshadowed other actors, even those with excellent pronunciation and body language.

Someone like him doing action scenes? Even with a stunt double, there were limits to what they could do.

“Oh, really? That's even better.”

But right now, the role that Yoo Yeon Seo was most confident in was the action role. Especially as a soldier, it was like living the life of Kang Jin Hoo himself.

“You can go to an action school.”

“But you can't even act properly, let alone go to an action school…”

Yoo Yeon Seo turned around abruptly. Meeting Manager Park's sharp gaze, he cleared his throat.

“By the way, what are you doing here, Manager Park? Don't you have work to do?”

“You have an eye for picking good scripts.”

Manager Park gave a thumbs up. Even though he used to hate Yoo Yeon Seo so much that he wouldn't even look at his face, this was an action he could take, considering the fact that his personality had changed.

Even now, although he was still somewhat deferential, he didn't curse or speak rudely. Although it was still only half-respectful.

“Is that so?”

‘What should I do? It's not like I'm the same person who had a good eye for scripts like the original Yoo Yeon Seo.' He thought to himself whilst playing with the pen.

‘Wait, if I use the automatic action mode, I might be able to pick up a good script, right?'

<It is possible, Master.>

Yoo Yeon Seo was momentarily stunned by Beta's words. Despite being cursed as a bad actor by others, he was still recognized for his eye for scripts.

As Yoo Yeon Seo was still immersed in thoughts, a phone rang.

"Oh, excuse me. It's an important call."

"It's okay."

Lim Seung Hyun took out his phone from his pocket and looked at the screen. He smiled with satisfaction, but the energy he gave off was not good, causing Manager Park to take a step back from him.

“Young master, I'll be going now.”

“Number 12?”

“Yes.”

Yoo Yeon Seo acknowledged with a wave. Lim Seung Hyun bowed and left the conference room.

"I'll go after you choose a script."

"Instead of relying on me, isn't it more appropriate for Manager Park to also develop perception? After all Manager Park is the one in charge. Don't you have any pride? Making me do all the work?"

Manager Park frowned. ‘This amnesia is a lie, right? Why wasn't his speech affected at all?'

"Okay, I'll pick the ones I like and put them on top. That should be fine, right? I can't handle all of them anyway." He cancelled that thought.

Manager Park left the room in excitement, leaving Yoo Yeon Seo alone in the conference room.

"Beta, turn on automatic action mode."

<Understood.>

He summoned Beta as if he had been waiting for the moment. Since they were going into a project, wouldn't it be better to use the eyes of the original host to select a good project?

"Yeon Seo, we finally got an acting teacher!"

In the conference room where Yoo Yeon Seo was alone, CEO Han suddenly burst in.

"CEO Han, please knock."

"But why is your face so pale?"

"My face has always been transparent and clear."

Although Yoo Yeon Seo answered shamelessly, CEO Han's eyes narrowed as he took in his appearance.

Yoo Yeon Seo hid the bloody tissue behind him.

"Are you feeling sick?"

"I've been reading a lot of scripts, so I'm just a bit under the weather. You said the acting teacher is here. Where are they?"

"In the practice room. We don't need to have a lesson right away, so let's just greet each other for now."
