The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 207: Change the Battlefield

Azure Dragon Star Domain, Emperor Yao charged out just before heaven and earth vanished.

"Emperor Yao!"

Ao Luan hurried to catch him: "What happened there?"

She didn't understand what had happened, only seeing the world in front suddenly shatter, black storms everywhere.

"The Venerable is coming."

Emperor Yao turned his head, his face pale as a sheet.

Although the land created by the undead had disappeared, in the Chaos, the annihilating black qi was everywhere, leaving nothing visible.

"Everything is about to end."

Emperor Yao said this, a sense of despair surging in his heart.

Within the depths of the black qi, two figures had already started fighting.

Sun Wukong, with wild and rampant black qi, charged at the elder. Under this force, no creature could survive.

But the elder had already transcended the definition of a creature, using his flesh to block the attacks time and again.

Not a thread of his clothing was torn, not a hint of emotion on his face.

The elder took steps towards Sun Wukong, each step on the void, with space completely collapsing, like a land of death.

Sun Wukong swung his long stick, each strike brutally smashing towards the elder.

But every attack was blocked by the elder.

With no fancy Cultivation Techniques, no dazzling light, the elder suddenly reached out a hand, a casual wave, and a wound appeared on Sun Wukong's body.

"Ah!"

Sun Wukong spat blood.

Like that space destroyed by a foot, this attack was invisible, traceless, and appeared out of nowhere.

Without a trace, it was unblockable.

Sun Wukong's chest was torn open with a shocking wound.

This was an unknown power, capable of harming the opponent without contact.

"Give up struggling!"

The elder said indifferently, as if the entire space was under his control: "You don't truly understand what strength is."

He waved his hand again, but this time Sun Wukong suddenly disappeared, appearing a hundred miles away.

The space where he had been collapsed, exuding a terrifying breath.

"To be able to dodge Void Devour, you are the first I've met."

The elder was somewhat surprised, his attack left no trace, yet Sun Wukong could evade it, nothing short of a miracle.

But it didn't matter, the elder didn't believe he could keep dodging.

"Every time I sweep across space, a Void Devour is created."

He waved his hand over and over, causing space to collapse in its wake, chasing after Sun Wukong.

"As long as I'm faster than you, there's nothing to fear."

Sun Wukong dashed and weaved through the intersecting Void Devours, occasionally launching attacks at the elder.

"Remarkable."

The elder laughed: "Your talent, it's truly made for battle!"

He praised Sun Wukong, yet stretched out another hand.

Two hands!

Sun Wukong's pupils shrank, in an instant, he pushed his speed to the limit, dodging a Void Devour.

Rapid movement, flash!

By the time he reappeared, he had already dived into the void again, evading the second one!

But before Sun Wukong could relax, a maze of Void Devours blocked the path ahead!

His face changed, in the extreme time and space he twisted his body aside, letting the Void Devour slice a cut across his face.

But it wasn't over.

The fourth strike, another cut promptly appeared on Sun Wukong's body.

Yet that was not the end.

"Die!"

Accompanied by the elder's cold voice, the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth.

Four Void Devours appeared at once, locking him in all directions.

Sun Wukong tried to escape upwards.

The ninth Void Devour suddenly pressed down from above.

In the limit of time, looking down, the last Void Devour had already sealed his retreat.

"It's over!"

The elder's fingers came together.

Six Void Devours closed instantly, grinding the trapped Sun Wukong to dust.

"No... something's wrong..."

The elder fell silent for a moment and then spoke: "This incarnation, it actually fooled my eyes."

He turned around, unable to see Sun Wukong anymore.

"You can't escape, why not give up."

The elder said.

Sun Wukong gritted his teeth, shuttling through the void, his figure flickering in and out, not giving the elder a chance to lock onto him.

"How long can your current body last?"

The elder spoke unhurriedly, implying that Sun Wukong, cursed, would not last long.

"What Cultivation Technique is this?"

Sun Wukong suddenly appeared, swinging his stick to bombard the elder.

"Hongmeng Heavenly Dao."

The elder blocked with his hand, saying: "Your Chaos Heavenly Dao, how can it compare with mine?"

He attacked Sun Wukong with a wave of his hand but was evaded by him once more.

Chaos and Hongmeng, Heavenly Dao from different worlds, like a firefly's light and a bright moon.

Even the brightest deity in Chaos, mastering its Heavenly Dao, is but a minor path of Hongmeng, how could it compare with him?

"The power I possess is not even one percent of the Venerable's."

The elder revealed a smile, saying: "But to deal with you, it's more than enough."

He launched another palm strike at Sun Wukong.

Neither could harm the other, it turned into a test of patience.

Sun Wukong kept dodging while launching frenzied attacks, various spells being cast, yet showed no sign of fatigue.

The elder felt it a waste of time.

"If that's the case."

The elder stepped forward, vanishing in an instant: "Let's change the battlefield."

"What?"

Sun Wukong sensed something and his face suddenly changed.

He swung his stick at the void, his figure flickering away, following after.

That direction was towards the Three Realms.
