The System Chose the Wrong Host, and My Path of Cultivation Went Astray

Chapter 4:

Chapter 4: Pushing Too Far

The Saintess of the Misty Immortal Sect?

Zhou Heng frowned slightly. He had no dealings with this so-called Saintess and didn’t know why she was seeking him out.

The cultivators nearby exchanged glances and couldn’t hide the envy in their eyes.

“Holy Son, you may not be aware, but the Saintess has come to ask you for guidance on her advancement path.”

“However… the Holy Lord’s true intention is… ahem…”

What?

A marriage alliance with that so-called Saintess?

Zhou Heng’s face darkened. He had no time for marriage right now—women would only slow down the speed at which he drew his sword.

[Mission issued: After enduring countless hardships and taking revenge, you are faced with a rejection of marriage from a disciple of the Misty Immortal Sect. Please convince her to keep the engagement and have Zhou Xi, who possesses the Exquisite Spiritual Root, join the Misty Immortal Sect.]
[Mission reward: 1000 points, 5 low-grade Spirit Pills, and unlockable Enlightenment Skill.]
[Mission failure penalty: Death and soul obliteration!]

Seriously? He wasn’t being narcissistic, but in the Great Primordial Holy Land—or across the entire continent—women who wanted to marry him could fill a river. The only reason this Misty Immortal Sect Saintess had a chance at all was thanks to one of his father’s sudden “bursts of genius.”

The mission was, as usual, useless, but Zhou Heng was at least interested in the Enlightenment Skill reward.

“In that case, lead the way.”

As soon as Zhou Heng spoke, Zhou Xi tugged gently at the hem of his robe.

Turning his head, he saw Zhou Xi shrinking timidly behind him, her wide eyes watching him nervously, like a frightened little animal.

“It’s alright. I’m here.”

Zhou Heng reassured her, and with that, he wrapped his arm around her waist and took to the skies in a single stride.

The cultivators watching from behind were left speechless.

He was heading off to meet the Saintess of the Misty Immortal Sect… and brought another woman with him? That wasn’t a good look, right?

“A woman is only fit to be possessed by the strong.”

“With the Holy Son’s status and abilities, even if he brings a hundred or a thousand women, who would dare complain?”

Zhou Heng, of course, was unaware of his sect’s members gossiping behind him.

In just a moment, he arrived at the Holy Hall of the Great Primordial Holy Land.

“The Holy Son has arrived?”

The atmosphere in the hall was different than usual, filled with a faint fragrance. Several veiled women turned their heads toward the entrance.

Behind a hanging curtain in the center of the hall was a faint outline of a graceful figure. Though not fully visible, it was clear she had an enchanting form.

“Heng’er, you came at the perfect time.”

Zhou Wanyu acted as though he hadn’t just sent people to fetch him and said, “The Misty Immortal Sect and I are considering forming a marriage alliance. What do you think of that?”

As he spoke, he flashed behind Zhou Heng and whispered in his ear.

“Don’t blame your old man—I did this for you. I heard that the Misty Immortal Sect’s Saintesses are always exceptional in strength, beauty, and talent.”

Zhou Wanyu gave him a thumbs-up behind his back. “This generation’s Saintess, Leng Qingqiu, is said to be the most beautiful woman on the continent. She’s a perfect match for my son.”

Zhou Heng raised an eyebrow.

It sounded good, but his mission now was to force her to reject the engagement.

Even if the person in question had been upgraded from just a disciple to the Saintess herself, the essence of the mission remained the same.

Zhou Heng didn’t care what scheme his father was cooking up. He strode forward confidently and reached out to pull back the curtain.

The women from the Misty Immortal Sect had originally been admiring Zhou Heng from afar, but at that bold move, their expressions turned to shock.

“Shameless scoundrel!”

A petite girl rushed forward to stop him.

Zhou Heng shoved her aside without hesitation.

On the path of cultivation, there was no room for silly things like “protecting the delicate.” He didn’t even use his spiritual power—he was already being merciful.

“Do not disrespect the Holy Son. Everyone, stand back.”

A crisp and icy voice rang out from behind the curtain.

A jade-like hand reached out and gently lifted the veil on both sides. “Holy Son, I’ve heard much about you.”

The girl wore a light veil. A lotus-shaped silver mark glowed faintly between her brows. Just the visible half of her face was already like a cold moon hanging in the sky, like a clear spring flowing through a mountain valley—beautiful, distant, and untouchable.

Compared to her, the other women who had once seemed graceful and elegant instantly paled in comparison.

“Drop the act.”

Zhou Heng had already made up his mind to make Leng Qingqiu say the words “I want to break the engagement.” No amount of politeness or beauty could shake him.

“If you truly respected my Holy Land, you wouldn’t be hiding behind a curtain while meeting your elders.”

“If you’re so eager to marry me, you’d better learn our customs first!”

Leng Qingqiu frowned slightly, her breathing turning heavier.

She finally replied, “You’re right, it was my fault. But before this meeting, we already sought the Holy Lord’s approval…”

So, not so easy to get rid of.

Zhou Heng’s eyes flickered.

“And that veil of yours—it’s an eyesore.”

As the words left his mouth, Zhou Heng grabbed Leng Qingqiu’s slender wrist.

She was only at the Golden Core Realm, hardly a match for Zhou Heng. Caught off guard, she was pulled forward, and Zhou Heng stepped directly behind the curtain with her.

“If you want to be my woman, I’ll need to do a little inspection.”

His tone was shameless, full of teasing.

He reached out and ripped off her veil without hesitation.

What a breathtaking beauty!

Even Zhou Heng couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment.

His gaze flickered with amazement.

Well, that made what he was about to do even more exciting.

Rubbing his hands together, he didn’t wait for Leng Qingqiu to speak before he began sizing up her body, taking full liberty with his touch.

Though they were behind the curtain, Leng Qingqiu had never imagined he would actually be so bold.

Her cold face flushed bright red, and she instinctively tried to push him away.

“Nice hips. Good for childbirth.”

Smack!

Zhou Heng gave her a firm slap.

“You! You—!”

Zhou Heng ignored her anger. With hands like dragon claws, he continued evaluating her.

“Hmm, these are good too. Perfect for feeding future children.”

What a disgraceful rogue!

Leng Qingqiu, as the Saintess of the Misty Immortal Sect and a candidate for sect master, had never suffered such humiliation.

In a flash, she drew her sword in fury.

But Zhou Heng had already exited the curtain calmly.

Facing the furious stares of all the women in the hall, he casually clapped his hands.

“Great feel.”

Then he added, “Since it’s come to this, I don’t mind marrying a woman. But let’s be clear—I’m a man who’s soft-hearted. I like bringing pitiful women home, so don’t cause trouble over it.”

That bastard!

Watching Zhou Heng walk out, Leng Qingqiu barely regained her composure. Her face flushed scarlet, though no one could tell if it was from anger or embarrassment.

“If the Holy Son doesn’t wish to keep the engagement, just say so. There was no need for such disgrace!”

Ah, finally.

Zhou Heng let out a long sigh of relief.

It’s not like he wanted to shamelessly flirt with this girl in public, right?

“Saintess, you jest.”

Zhou Heng turned and cupped his hands toward the curtain with a calm tone. “I have no opinion on the engagement for now. Let’s keep it.”

He then pulled Zhou Xi from the corner.

“However, I really do like bringing pitiful girls home. Please take this one into the Misty Immortal Sect for cultivation.”

Too much!

The female disciples of the Misty Immortal Sect all glared at him furiously!
