Chapter 45: 44 La Folia Rihavein
La Folia Rihavein, the fourteen-year-old First Princess of the Aldegia Kingdom and future heir to the throne.
The royal family of Aldegia is born with immense spiritual power, with each member being a natural medium.
Many of the kingdom's advanced war technologies are created using the royal family's spiritual energy as a template, serving as the key and power source.
With the royal family's formidable spiritual power, combined with the kingdom's arcane scientific advancements, Aldegia has been able to compete with the Warlord Empire in warfare over the centuries.
Simultaneously, the importance of the royal spiritual power has elevated the Rihavein family to a critically important status within the country.
It can be said that as long as the Rihavein family does not act foolishly, their existence will be synonymous with the kingdom itself.
As the kingdom's First Princess, La Folia Rihavein's innate beauty surpasses that of ordinary people, granting her immense prestige within Aldegia.
People speak of this princess with great admiration; La Folia herself is arguably the most famous star in the kingdom.
Saigou sat calmly, observing the noble and elegant young girl before him, dressed in attire akin to a military uniform.
The stylish outfit clung to her alluring figure, and her smooth, silver hair cascaded over her shoulders.
Her features were delicately beautiful, her face a quintessential oval shape, with azure eyes as clear as a tranquil lake.
Beneath her skirt, her shapely legs, clad in tall boots, were a striking contrast of youthful vitality and pale, pristine skin.
Adding to her poised demeanor was a graceful smile, neither too familiar nor too distant, making it hard to believe that this girl was only fourteen years old.
This girl was remarkably precocious, her talents impressive enough to make her a diplomat abroad even at her young age.
"You have obtained information regarding the 12th Kaleid Blood?" Saigou inquired, his demeanor equally elegant as he wore a well-tailored black robe. His dark eyes regarded the First Princess with a smile.
At the same time, Saigou glanced at Natsuki Minamiya beside him.
Although the witch displayed no outward emotion, Saigou, who had lived alongside her for five years, knew that she was likely displeased at this moment.
His own two-year endeavor had not only failed but had also led to someone else's success.
For the proud Natsuki Minamiya, this was a significant disappointment.
However, Natsuki Minamiya was perceptive enough to avoid showing her frustration over such matters.
"Yes, Mr. Zarathustra. The Aldegia Kingdom, established for centuries on the European continent, inevitably gathers its own unique intelligence."
La Folia performed a flawless royal bow once more, leaving no room for any perceived disrespect.
Afterward, the princess turned her curious gaze toward Saigou.
She knew that Mr. Zarathustra was the devil contracted by the witch of the void seated before her.
While this might not seem extraordinary, in this world, it was indeed an incredible occurrence.
The existence of a devil with self-awareness, manifesting in such a manner, was beyond the ordinary.
Although rarely intervening according to reports, the devil's few appearances demonstrated its formidable strength.
The witch's strange abilities were entirely derived from this devil, and as the source of the mysterious aging powers, no one knew the full extent of this devil's capabilities.
La Folia, known for her insatiable curiosity, was particularly intrigued at this devil.
Given Saigou's miraculous existence, her intense curiosity was understandable.
Noting that La Folia continued to fixate on Saigou, Natsuki Minamiya, feeling somewhat perturbed, coldly interrupted the princess's probing gaze.
"...Since you, Princess, have come to us personally and informed us of this matter."
"Then please state clearly, Princess, what price must we pay to obtain this information?"
Natsuki Minamiya, no longer a naive child, understood that La Folia's personal visit indicated a request for something.
At last, La Folia withdrew her gaze from Saigou, turning to Natsuki Minamiya with a regal and polite smile:
"...I have come to express my gratitude to the Witch of the Void."
"...You have assisted the kingdom significantly during your time in Europe, even thwarting attempts by certain schemers within our nation and the Warlord Empire to instigate further wars."
Natsuki Minamiya, uninterested in La Folia's flattery, responded with visible impatience:
"...Spare me your diplomatic niceties, La Folia Rihavein!"
"...It's more straightforward to state your intentions directly. The tasks you mentioned were things we intended to do anyway, not done specifically for your gratitude."
Saigou smiled and said, "...Natsuki, you should familiarize yourself with such diplomatic language in advance."
He was subtly hinting that if Natsuki Minamiya were to take charge of the Itogami Island, she would encounter such situations more frequently in the future.
Natsuki Minamiya huffed but remained silent.
It wasn't that she disliked diplomatic language; she was already a mature woman. Her impatience was simply directed at the princess.
La Folia Rihavein, despite her youth, was adept at navigating such matters and, rather than indulging in further convoluted rhetoric, spoke candidly:
"...Our kingdom is willing to provide the information with only one request."
"Although there have been no large-scale wars between our kingdom and the Warlord Empire in recent decades, a warlike nation will eventually fall, and a nation that forgets war will face danger. No one can predict whether future wars will occur."
"...In exchange, we will provide you with the information on the 12th Kaleid Blood on the condition that if our kingdom were to conflict with the Warlord Empire again in the future."
"We hope you will not aid the Warlord Empire but rather remain neutral. Of course, if you can support the kingdom, the Rihavein family would also express equal respect!"
La Folia's hands were elegantly clasped before her, and she bowed slightly as she spoke.
"A reasonable suggestion and a fair exchange."
The kingdom was only offering information without directly intervening in the Fourth Primogenitor's affairs, so there was no reason for Saigou's side to fully align with the kingdom.
A promise to remain neutral was a fair return for the value of the information.
"As for my personal request, I hope Mr. Zarathustra might grant me a small favor." La Folia said, her eyes twinkling with feigned innocence.
"Please, Princess." Saigou gestured, clearly unimpressed by such feminine ploys.
"I am personally very curious about the 12th Kaleid Blood. So, Mr. Zarathustra, would you be willing to let me see it?"
La Folia, at this moment, seemed to shed all her maturity, asking with the enthusiasm of a little girl.
"Certainly!"
"No!"
Saigou and Natsuki Minamiya replied in unison.
Natsuki Minamiya glanced at Saigou and spoke quickly, "...Given the princess's high status, if something were to go wrong, it would be difficult to explain to the kingdom."
Saigou dismissed this concern, saying, "...This is La Folia's own request; it has nothing to do with us. If anything goes wrong, it is her own responsibility."
Seeing La Folia's insistence, Natsuki Minamiya relented.
She wasn't La Folia's guardian and had no intention of worrying about her safety. Her initial refusal had been more instinctive.
Such was Natsuki Minamiya's nature—strong-willed and self-focused. She cared little for others, only for those close to her.
