The Vermilion Bird possessed the pure Vermilion Bird Flame, while the Scorpion King carried the Power of the Red Flame and Power of thunder and lightning. Although their rank could not compare to the Vermilion Bird Flame, the combination of the two, with the thunder-fire enhancement, held formidable power that could not be underestimated.

After a bout of battle, both parties realized they couldn't do anything to each other. However, what exasperated the Scorpion King was that while the Vermilion Bird couldn't harm him, his army of Red Scorpions couldn't withstand the Vermilion Bird's attack.

The Vermilion Bird evidently noticed this too, so it simply stopped targeting the Scorpion King and instead focussed on the scorpion horde.

Beams of Vermilion Bird Flame shot out from the Vermilion Bird's body, quickly enveloping the area where the scorpions gathered. Although the Scorpion King was furious, he couldn't protect his minions. In less than a minute, except for the Scorpion King, all other Red Scorpions were reduced to ashes by the Vermilion Bird Flame!

Having cleared out the Red Scorpions, the Vermilion Bird retracted its Vermilion Bird Flame, glaring angrily at the Scorpion King and letting out a sorrowful cry before whisking away into the clouds with a flick of its tail.

Likewise, the Scorpion King frantically thrashed its tail, powerful Thunder Power swirling around its body. It raged for a full ten minutes before it too vanished into the forest.

Once both sides had departed, Ling Feng wiped the cold sweat off his forehead; it was utterly brutal! If the Vermilion Bird knew that two Little Vermilion Birds and the corpse of that Vermilion Bird were in his possession, that Male Vermilion Bird would never rest until one of them perished!

"Thankfully, thankfully, the Devil's Ring can block all auras, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable!" Ling Feng thought to himself.

Returning to the group, everyone was shocked by the lingering battle aura. Although they did not know exactly what transpired up ahead, they clearly felt the battle between the Scorpion King and the Vermilion Bird.

Ling Feng briefly explained the situation to the group, and everyone showed expressions of relief. Les even said, "Ling Feng, it's so dangerous up ahead. I think we should take a detour."

"A detour? Do you think other paths are safe?" Ling Feng shook his head and said, "This Red Canyon is fraught with danger; who knows if there are more vicious creatures elsewhere? I think you'd best not always think about avoiding danger, because sometimes, danger is unavoidable. We have to face it!"

"Ling Feng is right!" laughed the Bright Saintess. "I didn't expect you, Les, to be such a cowardly rat, even less bold than a woman like me. It's truly ridiculous!"

Les was incensed: "Bright Saintess, stop your nonsense here. If not for Ling Feng, do you think you'd still be alive now?"

The Bright Saintess chuckled, "Right, I'm allied with Ling Feng. What's wrong with us helping each other?"

Les was momentarily speechless by the Bright Saintess's words; relying on someone seemed too accepted.

"Alright, we're all on the same boat now, so let's not look down on each other," Ling Feng said mildly. "We need to unite now more than ever. Keep your grievances for when we're outside!"

Turning to Les, Ling Feng continued, "Les, Saint Heir, we're going to move on. If you really don't want to continue, then let's part ways here. I wish you good luck."

Hearing Ling Feng's words, Les's expression changed slightly. If Ling Feng said this before, he would have left without a second thought. But since witnessing the battle power of the Sky-Swallowing Toad, and with Ling Feng having control over Little Gold and Little Black—two Exotic Beasts—Les's thoughts started to stir.

The Atlantis Continent is unpredictable, and clearly, survival chances would greatly increase with Ling Feng. Moreover, as the Saint Heir of the Dark Church, they also wanted to achieve something on the Atlantis Continent, but solely relying on their strength, they might not survive, let alone gain anything!

Saying this, Ling Feng waved his hand, and the Female Vermilion Bird's corpse, along with two Little Vermilion Birds, appeared before Xuanyuan Xia.

"Did you... snatch the Vermilion Bird's corpse from under the Scorpion King's nose?" Xuanyuan Xia exclaimed in shock, "It's a miracle you're not dead by the Scorpion King!"

Ling Feng chuckled, "Hadn't the Male Vermilion Bird arrived in time? If not, escaping would've been really tricky!"

"You were too reckless; you can't do this in the future!" Xuanyuan Xia sighed, "Though fortune usually comes with risk, if you slip up, everything would be lost. Besides, these two Little Vermilion Birds... something's off about them!"

Xuanyuan Xia held up the two Little Vermilion Birds, and they awoke, struggling to move towards the Female Vermilion Bird's corpse.

"What's off about the Little Vermilion Birds?" Ling Feng asked curiously.

Xuanyuan Xia replied gravely, "These two little ones possess genuine Phoenix True Flame... which means... do they have Phoenix Essence Blood?"

"What?" Ling Feng exclaimed in shock, "You mean these little ones have Phoenix Essence Blood in them? Is that true?"

Xuanyuan Xia slowly nodded, "I'm fairly certain; my sense for Phoenix Essence Blood shouldn't be wrong! These two little ones contain a trace of Phoenix Essence Blood; though it's not much, it has immense future growth potential for them!"

"I suppose this is why the Scorpion King wanted to kill the Female Vermilion Bird to capture these little ones!" Xuanyuan Xia mused. "But what I don't understand is why Little Vermilion Birds with Phoenix Essence Blood appeared there?"

Ling Feng shrugged, "I don't know either; I guess only that Male Vermilion Bird could explain it?"

"However..." Ling Feng hesitated and said, "Senior Sister, with Phoenix Essence Blood inside them, could we extract it from their bodies?"

Xuanyuan Xia rolled her eyes at Ling Feng, "Do you know what level a Vermilion Bird with Phoenix Essence Blood could reach in strength?"
