Chapter 660: The Uprising
"Dumbass, what the hell do you mean?" The man with the dark face glanced at him, then said, "You call us out in the middle of the night just to watch you smoke? We're not interested."
Monk was taken aback for a moment, then asked, "Are you guys uncomfortable?"
The man with the dark face was startled, then responded, "What do you mean?"
"Dammit!" Monk spat out and angrily said, "Jvyi Gang is now flaunting their numbers and power, thinking they're something because they've taken down Tiger Gang. They're acting all high and mighty, giving us no space to survive. Fuck it, instead of living under someone else's roof, we might as well make the world our home."
"You plan to leave Jiangbei City?" asked the man with the dark face.
"What else?" Monk took a deep drag of his cigarette.
The man with the dark face snorted and said, "Fuck it, let's be straightforward and take them head-on."
Monk was startled, then said, "How can we take them on? Jvyi Gang has the numbers and strength; even Tiger Gang is no match for them, let alone us?"
"We can't face them head-on, but we can unite all the forces that are being oppressed," said the man with the dark face, squinting with a chilling gleam in his eyes. He snorted and continued, "Every little makes a mickle; many a little makes a mickle. We will surely defeat them."
Monk nodded slightly, "Alright, rather than being oppressed by them, it's better to fight back."
After that, a group of people immediately took action.
Ben Se Bar.
Lai Zi was enjoying his cigarette, grooving to the music.
The bar was flowing with drinks, and there were plenty of girls. As long as he tried, he could always get a date. Expenses for drinks and the minimum spend for booths were covered, and many girls took the initiative to please Lai Zi. He felt he was living freely and comfortably. It seemed that with life like this, what better pursuit could there be?
He had just fiercely enjoyed a drunken beauty in the restroom and arranged for his guys to send her home. Lai Zi, with his pants belt in hand, walked out of the restroom, cigarette in mouth, ready to leave.
Suddenly, a muscular man approached and said, "Lai Zi, enjoying playing with chicks, aren't you?"
"Who are you?" Lai Zi turned around and asked, "Monk, is that you?"
"Hmph," the muscular man grunted, "I didn't expect you to become a dog for Jvyi Gang."
"What nonsense are you talking?" Lai Zi glared at him and said irritably, "Otherwise, should I wander around like you? I have no wish to roam; life is not bad as it is."
"Now you've become someone else's lapdog," Monk said with a sneer, "Aren't you going to think about your own guys? They're feeling suffocated now, a tiger without its spirit is nothing more than a cat."
"Are you mocking me?" Lai Zi glared at Monk.
"No!" Monk immediately shook his head and said, "How could I be mocking you?"
Lai Zi snorted, then said, "You came here to find me, what do you really want? If you have something to say, just say it."
"I'm just here to show you a way out," Monk said with a smile.
"You're showing me the way?" Lai Zi was taken aback and asked, "What way?"
"A road to sunshine!" Monk's mouth curled into a sly smile, "Got a place? Let's talk properly."
"Follow me!" Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Lai Zi immediately led him into the office.
The soundproofing in the office was excellent; the quiet inside was almost a pleasure compared to the noise outside. Lai Zi sat down in a chair and then said, "Sit down, if you have something to say, hurry up."
"Want to make a splash on your own?" Monk took a drag of his cigarette.
"Stop beating around the bush," Lai Zi was getting annoyed.
"Alright!" Monk nodded and said, "Then I'll speak plainly. Tu Lv and I have teamed up, planning to make a move against Jvyi Gang. Brother Lai Zi, better to break the cauldrons and sink the boats to become wolves than to live under others' roofs like dogs."
Hiss...
Lai Zi gasped in shock, exclaiming, "You... you guys are insane?!"
"No, we are not insane!" Monk shook his head and said, "Jvyi Gang is now brazen and autocratic; they've taken over the eastern district and leave us zero space to survive. Chairman Mao once said, where there is oppression, there is resistance. I believe our opportunity to resist has come."
"You... you guys are really going to do this?!" Lai Zi asked.
"Of course!" Monk nodded, "It's time to rise up."
"Let... Let me think!" Lai Zi said awkwardly, "This is no small matter, if it fails, it would be disastrous."
"If we fail, we just escape far away!" Monk took a puff of his cigarette, then snorted coldly, "That's much better than living under someone's thumb, isn't it? Don't kid yourself thinking you're living it up; you don't have a dime in your pocket."
[Sorry for being drunk and not updating yesterday. I will make up for it with two extra chapters this afternoon.]
