The Supreme Beauty Fell in Love with Me

Chapter 656: Ambushed

After arriving at customs, the two found a restaurant and sat down to eat some food.

Around nine in the evening, a human trafficker from Afghanistan found Lin Chuan and Miss Lan in the restaurant.

"Sir, please follow me," the man said hurriedly.

Lin Chuan and Miss Lan immediately followed him as he left.

They bypassed the customs and walked westward along the road.

"Where are we going?" Miss Lan asked.

"Not sure yet," Lin Chuan shook his head and said, "But they must have a way to get us through customs."

Miss Lan remained vigilant. Lin Chuan, however, seemed much more relaxed. Could it be more dangerous than in Yibu'er Mountain? Not only were there deadly beasts there, but also the Chen family's people fiercely pursuing them from behind. Compared to that, Lin Chuan felt their current situation was much safer.

Soon, the man led Lin Chuan and Miss Lan to a three-story building.

"What place is this?" Lin Chuan asked.

"Don't worry, we will definitely get you through customs," the man said politely.

Lin Chuan could tell the man was sincere and didn't seem to have any ill intentions. He nodded, then pulled Lan in with him. Inside the house, scores of people had already gathered, among them Bas and his group were notably present.

"It's you?" Miss Lan glared at Bas.

"Heh heh..." Bas chuckled and said, "I didn't expect to meet you here, this is truly fate given by heaven."

"Who has fate with you?" Miss Lan looked at him irritably and said, "Go away, stay away from me."

Bas was stunned and took a couple of steps back.

Miss Lan glanced around at the people there. Most were refugees seeking asylum, and a portion were smugglers. They used this snakehead organization to achieve their smuggling goals. Of course, there were also people like Bas, who were there to smuggle firearms. Bas had already negotiated a firearms smuggling deal this time, and if successful, he could make five million US dollars. Money can blind people with greed. It can drive people to take risks.

Dozens of people had gathered in the house.

At that moment, a man in black came in, flanked by over a dozen armed men. These guys all wore white robes and carried rifles, their heads wrapped in turbans.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the man in black said with a smile, "the gate to cross the border will open soon, get ready to follow me through."

Everyone stood up.

The man in black went into the crowd, leading the dozen armed men at the front, with a group of people quickly following behind.

At this point, Miss Lan asked with confusion, "Strange, why are we not going outside, but walking inside instead?"

"Heh heh, that's something you don't know," Bas leaned in closer and then laughed, "Their method of crossing the border is through an underground passage. Heh heh..."

"So that's how it is." Lin Chuan suddenly understood, no wonder they were heading inside; there was a reason for it.

Miss Lan gave Bas a sidelong glance and said, "Get away, keep your distance from me."

Bas was taken aback and hurriedly stepped back.

Soon, the crowd reached the backyard, where there was a door that led to a long corridor extending underground. A group of people quickly followed down.

This underground corridor was built by the organization. They had bribed officials in Pakistan and controlled this smuggling passage, not only for people but also for goods. Overall, just this one channel allowed them to earn a substantial amount of US dollars a year, providing the organization with a large amount of operational funds.

Upon entering the tunnel, darkness enveloped them. The person at the front used lights to navigate, while the others followed. This was a roughly 1.5-kilometer-long corridor, stuffy inside with no air exchange system or ventilation ducts. The group hurriedly advanced forward, continually moving ahead.

Miss Lan clutched Lin Chuan's hand tightly.

Just as they were about to exit the tunnel, suddenly, chaos erupted outside.

"It's bad, the army's here," the people ahead suddenly shouted.

The people behind panicked, and everyone began running back. The scene became chaotic in the narrow space, filled with screams; people collided and trampled each other. Bas's furious roars echoed, "You bastards, I'll kill you..."

Suddenly, a fierce brawl erupted in their midst. A group of people started fighting, and soon gunfire rang out.

"Lin Chuan, what should we do?" Miss Lan asked anxiously.

"Don't panic," Lin Chuan held Miss Lan tight in his arms and said, "We mustn't run back. Considering Pakistan wants to take down this smuggling ring, that means they've also set up forces in Asa. So, our only option now is to move forward."

Bas's strength came into play in the confined space. He bulldozed through, throwing anyone blocking the way behind him.

"Girl, follow me quickly!" Bas yelled out.

"Let's go!" Lin Chuan, holding Xiao Lan's hand, swiftly followed Bas to rush outside.

Outside, gunfire erupted in waves. The smuggling organization and the Pakistani military were engaged in intense combat, neither side giving way. At this moment, Bas, leading a few of his subordinates, rushed out. The man in black, with his band of armed forces, joined the fray, making it difficult for the Pakistani military to break through.

Bas urgently said to Lin Chuan, "Kid, do you have any ideas?"

Lin Chuan glanced around, noticing that the courtyard was also surrounded by the military. To escape, they had to break through the military encirclement. It seemed the opposition had dispatched over a hundred people to surround the area. Though outnumbered, the smuggling organization had the geographical and weaponry advantage.

Two machine guns were placed at the upstairs windows. Once they opened fire, the violent blaze of gunfire swept crazily, bullets falling like raindrops.

The Pakistani military was suppressed by the smugglers' firepower and couldn't break through the entrance, forced to surround without attacking.

Lin Chuan swallowed hard and said, "Break out."

"Looks like we have to rush out," Bas gritted his teeth. "But it would be better if we had a vehicle."

At that moment, the man in black immediately pointed to a garage behind them, saying, "There's a truck in there."

Lin Chuan quickly opened the garage, indeed, there was a pickup truck, robust and imposing. This truck was much stronger than the one he had snatched in Yoda Town. Lin Chuan patted the hood, excitedly saying, "Wow, nice, it's a Ford Raptor. So badass."

Lin Chuan hurriedly climbed into the driver's seat, and the truck burst out from the inside.

"Xiao Lan, you drive!" Lin Chuan immediately jumped out.

Miss Lan was startled but quickly got into the driver's seat. Lin Chuan, meanwhile, clambered onto the bed of the Raptor, with Bas and others quickly jumping on as well. Lin Chuan didn't sit in the passenger seat because he didn't want to draw fire towards Xiao Lan.

Five or six people jumped onto the back of the truck.

Rumbling...

Suddenly, Miss Lan floored the accelerator, and the truck dashed out swiftly.

The truck smashed through the main gate and crazily charged outside.

Ratatat...

Suddenly, intense gunfire was directed at Lin Chuan and his group. Lin Chuan sneered, "Fire back!"

Bas and his men were fully equipped with firearms, and Lin Chuan also had a rifle for protection. They immediately crouched in the truck bed and opened fire. The Pakistani military was completely caught off-guard by the bold escape, leaving them unprepared.

"Pursue them!" the Pakistani military commander urgently shouted, "Don't let anyone escape."

Whoosh...

A group of people quickly gave chase.

However, the smugglers were still firing back like mad, evidently not wanting to lose this lucrative spot. This smuggling route brought in a huge profit every year. For that, they were willing to stake their lives.

Miss Lan drove the truck at breakneck speed.

Two military pickups chased after them fiercely. Bas sneered and then said, "Let them taste our wrath."

Ratatat...

Another intense burst of gunfire, and bullets targeted the opponent's trucks. The glass was quickly turned into a beehive. The driver was killed instantly, the truck swerved, crashing into a concrete pillar and coming to a fiery halt, while the soldiers on the truck tumbled out.

The other pickup continued the rampant pursuit, doggedly tailing Lin Chuan's truck. They mounted their rifles on the hood and opened fire at Lin Chuan and his group.

Thump...

Suddenly, one of Bas's men was hit by bullets, collapsing instantly and tumbling out of the truck bed. He then was mercilessly run over by the pursuing pickup.

Bas enraged, "Damn it, kill them. Kill them all!"

Quickly, they launched another frenzied salvo.

Just then, military personnel suddenly set up a blockade ahead.

"Not good," Lin Chuan exclaimed, "There are people ahead."

Bas and the others were shocked. He quickly turned to look at the road ahead where several military trucks had already blocked the road, and spike strips had been placed on the ground, ready to burst the tires as soon as any vehicle passed over them.

"What do we do?" Bas was stunned.

With no less than a hundred people waiting in ambush ahead, and only four or five of them, there was no way they could take on the opposition. Lin Chuan sneered, "Fancy a proper fight?"

"Why the hell not?!" Bas bellowed, "If you can do it, so can I!"

"Jump out!" Lin Chuan waved his hand.

Then, they all leaped from the truck, with Miss Lan abandoning the vehicle and fleeing.

The group dashed toward the surrounding civilian houses.

The Pakistani military commander said calmly, "Prepare to close the net."

"Yes!" Several armed helicopters quickly took off, tracking Lin Chuan and the others.

Lin Chuan and Bas's group fled into the residential area, swiftly moving from house to house. Everyone kept up the chase at high speed.
