-------------------

Standing next to HERBIE, my wry smile still on my face, I watched as Susan explained the details of our meeting to Reed. While also scolding him a bit about forgetting our meeting in the first place.

The fabled Mr. Fantastic simply standing there and taking it. Nodding his head while muttering "Yes dear" over and over again.

Seeing this I decided to whisper to HERBIE. "It is always like this."

"Most of the time, yes." HERBIE instantly replied. "But honestly your quite lucky. Since usually Dr. Richards is even worse when it comes to matters such as yours." He added.

"You have my sympathies." I replied.

"Thank you." HERBIE replied.

The two of us then fell into a comfortable silence, waiting until Susan finished giving Reed his tongue-lashing.

Which thankfully on went on for another minute before it ended.

Then once it did both Susan and Reed turned their attention back to me.

"Sorry for the wait Mr. Parker. I had to remind by husband about our meeting. For which he is sorry for forgetting. Aren't you Reed?" Susan spoke. Giving Reed some pointed side-eye.

"I am." Reed admitted. He then cleared his throat. "So as my lovely wife said if you're ready let us begin the meeting."

"Thank you, and I am." I replied.

"Excellent." Susan replied. "So from what I saw on your application you are seeking funds to produce a new kind of Hydrogel, which from the looks of the formulae you submitted along with the application is more advanced than anything currently on the market. Correct?"

"Well yes, but also no." I replied. Ignoring the curious looks the Fantastic couple began shouting me after I spoke. "You see I'm here today not for grant money but to make a deal with you, the Fantastic Four personally Ms. Storm." I explained. "The application was just a way for me to get past the doors, so to speak."

"I see." Susan replied. "So, in that case what sort of deal are you looking to make with us?" She asked.

"I would like you, the Fantastic Four, to use your resources to have my hydrogel produced, and then influence to get it into the open market. In return I will give you rights to 90% of the profits from the sales of the hydrogel, though I retain the right to 10% of the money made. I will also retain ownership rights over the hydrogel formulae and ask you help me get it panteted under my name." I spoke.

"The deal sounds good." Reed muttered. Having elongated one of his fingers to scratch under his chin.

Which is cool.

"Though I wonder why you are trying to make it when we can just easily give you the money to have the gel manufactured yourself. Which would allow you to retain the majority of the profits made from any sells of it. Unlike in the deal you just offered to my wife and I."

"Well for several reasons Dr. Richards. First off, I am still just a high schooler. A super-geniuus one for sure, no that I'm bragging or anything, but still just a high schooler nonetheless. With no degree or connections in the scientific and business communities at all. So even if I get the grant money to produce the hydrogel on my own then what guarantee's do I have anyone will purchase it? Not to mention even if they do, and my product somehow takes off, then what am I supposed to do if competitors come after me? I will have no protection. Plus I plan to start my own business one day and this right now would be a huge first step in making it happen. So it's because of those, and a few other reasons, I have proposed this deal to you and your wife today. As such, what do you say?"

"Hmmm?" Reed mused. Still using his elongated finger to scratch his chin. "Before I make any decisions I would like to see the formulae myself."

Right after Reed spoke a piece of paper seemingly floated in the air from one of the many tables in the lab to our location. Having the basics of my hydrogel formulae written on it. Which Reed began examining while the paper still just floated in the air.

Though I knew that was the case only because of Susans' powers.

Which are extremely terrifying when you consider the applications for them.

'Now I see why she was named the most dangerous of the Fantastic Four in my previous life.' I thought.

I also made a mental note every to piss Susan Storm off. Lest I find myself ending up like a reverse balloon and popped form the inside out by an expanding forcefield inside my body.

Just imaging that sends a shiver down my spine.

"Hm, yes. I see." Reed said, as he continued examining the basis of my hydrogel formulae. Until he stopped and returned his attention to me. "I do believe we have a money maker here Susan. So, what do you say about taking Mr. Parker's deal?"

"Actually if you can please call me Peter. Mr. Parker is my father." I spoke.

Hoping he truly is still alive out there somewhere.

"Sure thing Peter." Susan replied. "And as for accepting your deal I am in agreement with my husband. We'll take it." She spoke.

Her words music to my years.

---------------------

After Reed and Susan accepted my deal we began discussing several details related to it. Until eventually we called our meeting to an end.

But not before the Fantastic couple gave me a number I could reach them at. So we could discuss more details surrounding the hydrogel project going forward. As well as so they could contact me when their lawyers finished writing up the contract that would seal our deal legally.

One that I will examine inside and out.

Since although I don't think they would I still don't know this realties version of the Fantastic Four well to know if they would take issue about screwing in my butt without any vaseline.

Which I do not want, thank you very much.

So contract reviewal is a must.

But that's for later.

Our business concluded HERBIE escorted me back down to the lobby and I exited the Baxter Building.

Now with a little hop in my step.

Since I'm pretty sure I just completed one of my goals and secured cash funds. Not only for my civilian life, but also for my superherioc one.

So with that pretty much taken care of I can focus my attention on my next major goal.

Training.

Since I don't know how to fight for shit, and if I'm going to be the Superior Spiderman I can't just freestyle against enemies all the time.

That would be a surefire way to get myself, and anyone involved, killed.

Thus the need for me to learn some form of martial arts or the like.

Now the only question I have is where should I go to get such training.

I mean no offense but I don't think a normal martial arts dojo would suit me. Especially with my enhanced physiology. I might accidentally kill someone.

Then again joining a dojo filled with ordinary people might be a great place to learn to control my own strength in the best of the moment.

But then again do I really want to risk another person's life like that for my own personal gain?

Crossing my arms in front of me I thought over the question, and many others. Until eventually my head started to hurt from thinking so much.

As such I emptied my mind.

Which then immediately became filled with the name of a group that would provide me with the training I needed and then some.

The Masters of the Mystic Arts.

Since I know they practice martial arts from what I remember from the films. But they also practice magic. Given their name it would be crazy if they didn't.

Though my point is since the powers of most spider-people are tied to the mystical Web of Life, then I should in theory have a high altitude for magic.

So by going to the masters I'll be able to gain two skills for the price of one.

Not to mention learning magic with what I already know about science might allow me to catch up to Doctor Doon in the future.

So yeah.

My mind made up I started heading for the New York Sanctum.

Hoping the Masters of the Mystic Arts would teach me.
