The Superior Spider (Marvel)

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Madam Web

A/N: Triple chapter release. Surprise!

-------------------

"Aghhhh!!!!!" I continued screaming at the top of my lungs as I, in spirit, soul, astral, or whatever the hell form you want to call it rapidly traveled through a multitude of dimensions.

From one filled with naked giant humanoids who caused nothing but utter destruction with every step they took.

To a world of pure darkness, where only a pair of single pair of glowing eyes, and a glowing mouth in the form of a grin, kept me company.

I even traveled through the Dark Dimension briefly.

Before passing between a pair of twin suns deep in outer space.

As my journey continued I lost all sense of time and my location in space. Simply carried along by the large current the Ancient One had suddenly forces me into without any warning.

'Now I know how Strange felt.' I thought.

While I still continued my trip.

Until suddenly it was over.

My spirit form coming to a grinding halt I found myself finally standing on solid ground again.

But just as I did a strange pink-colored mist appeared out of nowhere and surrounded me on all sides.

'What's happening now?' I thought.

"Oh, you're an interesting one aren't you? Yes, very interesting indeed." A voice spoke, bringing me out of my thoughts.

The voice in question belonging to a woman. Yet I couldn't tell which direction it was coming from. Since it came from all around me at the exact same time.

"Hello, whose there?" I asked. Looking all around me.

"Why someone I think you're quite familiar with, even if we have never met before." The voice said.

Then right after it did the mist parted and a figure emerged from it.

Which was a woman seated in a green colored spider-themed chair. The woman in question being elderly, dressed in a red dress with a white spider symbol imprinted on the front of it. Her eyes hidden by red-colored glasses.

The moment I laid eyes on this I couldn't hide my shock.

For she was none other than Madam Web.

Having the exact same appearance as she did in the 1994 Spiderman cartoon series.

"Madam Web." I muttered.

"Yes. It is I." She replied. "Though you already knew that. Given your unique origins." She spoke. Looking right at me.

When she did I couldn't help but take a step back.

"Oh relax young one, I have not come with any nefarious intention towards you. After all, yours is too important a destiny to go unfulfilled."

"On that we agree." I heard the Ancient One suddenly speak.

Then the second after she did her own astral form appeared next to my own, wherever the hell we were.

"Ah Yao, always good to see." Web spoke.

"I wish I could say the same Web." The Ancient One replied.

The two women getting into a staring competition that created a tension in the air.

"So Yao? Whose that?"

Which I tried to defuse by asking the Ancient One about her true name. Even though I already know it.

Breaking her staring contest with Madam Web the Ancient One looked in my direction. "That's me. Well, my original name exactly." She revealed.

"Wait, so your name isn't Ancient One?" I asked. Putting a shocked expression on my face.

"No, it's a title." Yao replied.

(A/N: From now on I'll refer to the Ancient One as Yao, since referring to her by her title every time is annoying)

"Huh, and here I thought women like to keep their age a secret. But for you to just tell people your old with your title. Good for you." I said, a smirk appearing on my face.

Only to get a flat look in response from Yao.

"Ah, it seems even though you are not like most totem bearers some things never change." Web said.

"Totem Bearer?" I asked. Tilting my head slightly in confusion.

Even though just like before I know what that is.

Since as a proper marvel fan I not only watched the movies but read the best storylines from the comics.

Including the Spider Totem war across the multiverse against the Inheritors.

A war it seems I'll now definitely be a part of, given Madam Web has appeared before me.

So yet another thing added to my long to-do list.

Eh, what can you do.

Spiderman luck and all that.

"Those like you who have been chosen as avatars for the Great Web." Web herself spoke.

"Great Web?" I once again questioned.

For Yao's benefit of course, not for mine.

"Actually, I think that's enough for now." Yao suddenly spoke up. "Peter here has just come into his powers. Not to mention he just began learning the mystic arts. So I think it wise we give him a bit more time to adjust before adding anymore onto his plate." She spoke.

"Yes, your words ring true Yao." Web agreed. "So with that I shall tale my leave. So then, goodbye for now Peter. But we will be seeing each other again soon. Count on it. And again Yao, always a pleasure." She said.

The pink mist then completely enshrouded Madam Web and she disappeared without trace.

Then after which I felt my astral body return to its dimension hopping journey before eventually everything went black.

-------------------

"Aghhhh!!!!" I shouted.

Looking around.

Only to see I was back in the room at the New York Sanctum.

Yao seated Indian style right across from me.

While I was also somehow seated Indian style.

"So Mr. Parker, how was your journey?" She asked.

"Sudden and unexpected, thanks to a certain someone." I replied. "So, Ms. Yao what do you know about that Madam Web. Since it seems you two knew each other quite well."

"First of all if you must use my name then please simply address me as Yao. Ms. Yao was my mother. Secondly, the being known Madam Web and I go back quite a while. Thirdly, she is a being of great power who is not to be taken lightly."

"No, really?" I sarcastically asked.

Only for Yao to give me a pointed and serious look.

When she did I held up my hands in surrender. "Okay, okay. I get it. No seriously I do. Madam Web is not to be trifled with. But from what we just experienced the two of us have a connection. Given that I am one of those Totem Bearers she mentioned and connected to this Great Web."

"Yes. Which is why extreme caution is necessary. Since whenever Web is involved nothing is ever as it seems."

"Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black considering what you just did to me?" I asked.

"That was part of your training. Completely different." Yao quickly replied.

"Uhuh." I mused. "How?"

"To show you three is more out there than you can imagine." Yao easily replied. "And that will be all for today's lesson. So go home and rest and we shall continue tomorrow."

"Right. And once again thank you for taking me on as a student." I spoke.

"Again, it is my pleasure." Yao replied.

Once she did we both got up and then I left the Sanctum.

Having begun my journey to become a wizard.
