Chapter 309: Karma (XXVII)
Divine Realm, the Fallen Paradise...
A sea of endless darkness, ruled by a throne of shadows.
The God of Darkness sat upon it, his presence stretching across the void, countless chains of divine law flowing outward like rivers.
But suddenly...
CRACK.
The chain linking him to the Demon King's daughter shattered, severed completely.
His ember-like eyes snapped open.
"…Impossible."
His voice rumbled across the realm, shaking mountains of shadow.
The black waters around his throne began to boil, his aura spilling outward in a storm.
"Who dares… who DARES cut my chain?!"
He stretched his divine senses across the realms, searching, clawing through the void for the mark of whoever had broken his curse.
By the laws of divinity, the imprint of the offender should have been burned into the remnants of the broken chain.
Instead...
SPLAT!
His body split cleanly in half.
The throne, the realm, even the very void seemed to be still as his divine form was severed like paper.
"—Sacrifice!"
His voice cracked as his halves melted into a pool of tar-like shadow, writhing before reforming into his divine body once more.
"Haah... gaaah... t-the fuck..." His breath came harsh and ragged.
He looked down at himself, trembling with rage and, worse... fear.
"…That… sword."
The memory of the cut still lingered, its edge biting into his divine soul. That was no ordinary strike... it was something that could have killed him directly if he hadn't acted fast enough.
His eyes widened in a rare flash of disbelief.
"A… god killer?"
The words escaped him, dripping with venom and shock.
And then, like thunder striking his skull, he remembered his meeting with Chronos.
The God of Darkness' expression twisted, both furious and unsettled.
"Don't tell me… that fucking bloodline is still alive?!"
CRACK!
The black throne beneath him shattered into dust as he rose, his body trembling with killing intent.
His claws lashed out blindly, and entire shelves of divine relics, artifacts worth more than thousands of kingdoms, splintered into worthless fragments against the walls.
"He dares..."
He staggered a step forward, eyes wide with recognition, and his aura surged until the obsidian palace warped under the pressure.
The surrounding gods and attendants scattered like rats, but he didn't even notice.
"That bloodline… that filth…" His hands clawed into his own chest as if to tear out the memory itself.
"I burned him along with the others. I cursed his very name. I shattered every vein, every drop of his foul heritage!"
BOOM!
A great obsidian mirror, an artifact that once let him see across mortal realms, exploded into nothing but glass dust as his energy lashed out again.
"And yet…" His voice broke into a snarl.
"After centuries, millennia, it dares appear again. Mocking me. Defying me!"
He hurled a jeweled crown into the ground, crushing it beneath his heel until the gems powdered like sand.
His hair was wild now, his eyes burning holes into reality itself.
"I will not allow it!" he roared, the entire realm quaking with his words.
"That cursed bloodline should have rotted in forgotten graves! I will erase it! I will burn their soul from every cycle of reincarnation, tear their bones from the stream of time itself!"
"Haaagh!!!!"
A long, ragged breath escaped him.
His voice lowered, venom dripping from every word.
"No matter who shelters you… no matter what mask you wear… I will drag you out by the throat."
His fangs glinted in the dark.
"And when I find you, when I know who you are, I will not kill you once. I will kill you until eternity itself grows tired of your screams."
BOOOM!
The divine realm shook under his roar, a wave of killing intent ripping across the void, black suns igniting in the distance as his fury spread.

Meanwhile...
"Haaa~"
I lay sprawled across the silk mattress, one arm lazily folded behind my head, the other twirling the strange relic between my fingers.
The "Odin's Eye."
A so-called god-level artifact, passed down through countless generations of Demon Kings. Now resting in my palm like some trinket.
"Mhm…"
A low hum escaped me, my gaze narrowing as I rolled the thing over, letting the faint shimmer of its surface catch the lamplight.
After breaking the curse, the Demon King once again bowed to me while gently holding his daughter in his arms.
And in return for saving his daughter along with the artifact, he promised a grand banquet, his last gift before I left this palace.
Supposedly, they were already setting the tables, stacking food and wine for me to appreciate.
At least he's way better than the Emperor I killed before.
I closed my eyes for a moment, exhaling through my nose.
"…Now, should I fuse with this?"
There was no hesitation in me.
I lifted the relic to my face, pressing it against my right eye. T
he moment it touched, it liquefied into smoke, a cold, searing smoke that stabbed into my skull like molten knives.
"...Fucking dammit!"
My teeth clenched as the burn ripped through my nerves, splitting every fiber of my vision.
But then… slowly… the pain ebbed. It melted, spread, and then faded into something else entirely.
And when I opened my right eye...
"Whoa..."
The world changed.
Lines of energy.
Flowing rivers of mana.
Webs of light and darkness crisscrossed the room, even the faintest sparks from the torches and the pulsing heartbeat of the palace itself.
Every hidden thread of power lay bare before me.
"…Hah."
I blinked, and the vision vanished like mist, the world returning to normal, stone walls and quiet candlelight.
"Oh… so I can dispel it with a thought, huh?"
My lips curled up into a satisfied smile.
Already, I was feeling excited by this new power.
Illusions, charms, curses, none of them would stand before this sight.
And more importantly…
The thought of copying skills at will made my fingers twitch with hunger, especially those divine abilities that those prideful gods use.
Knock, knock...
"Mhm?"
The sound echoed through the chamber, dragging me from the haze of power humming behind my right eye.
Who is it?
"…Enter," I muttered, still lounging against the bed's headboard.
The door creaked open, and she stepped inside.
"Lilith?"
Her presence filled the room before her words even left her lips.
Long, white hair cascaded down her back, arranged in a perfectly elegant braided crown that looped around the top of her head, strands slipping free to frame her cheeks with deliberate softness.
Her eyes glowed like polished amethyst, violet fire smoldering beneath lashes long enough to shame butterflies.
Her figure was sin incarnate, just as one perceived the Sin of Lust, with massive breasts straining against the silk of her gown, a thin, narrow waist curving like sculpted marble into wide hips and legs that seemed built to attract.
Behind her trailed a heart-shaped tail, twitching once as if betraying her composure, while two elegantly curved horns jutted from her head, the same shade of deep purple as her glowing pupils.
And her gown was just as beautiful as she was.
Crimson-purple silk, tight enough to trace every curve, yet slit high at the thigh, revealing the pale, endless length of her legs with each motion.
Every stitch whispered luxury, every shimmer spoke of a body meant to enslave men's eyes.
"The banquet is ready, my lord," she said smoothly, voice as sweet as poisoned honey.
I exhaled softly, nodding once.
"I see… Tell me, Lilith, do you have a suit for me? I don't intend to walk into a royal hall like this."
She smiled faintly, her hand lifting with lazy grace.
Swish!
A flick of her fingers, a ripple of purple energy, and instantly, my plain clothes were gone.
In their place, a perfectly fitted suit materialized over my body: jet-black fabric lined with silver threads, a crisp white shirt beneath, and a long coat trimmed in dark violet.
The collar hugged my neck sharply, while the subtle shimmer of runic embroidery made it obvious that these clothes were actually protective gear.
I caught her reaction instantly.
Her lips parted ever so slightly, her teeth sinking into her lower lip as her glowing eyes darted across me.
A flush colored her pale cheeks, almost hidden behind her poise, but not enough.
"…How charming~" she whispered, her voice breaking into a sultry lilt.
Her words caused me to laugh slighly as I rose to my feet, rolling my shoulders beneath the new attire.
"I'll guide you, Master~"
Her heart-shaped wrapped around my arm as her fingers interwined with mine. She brought me to the big double doors from before, and then, she surprisingly stepped aside.
"Please~"
She winked at me, blowing me a kiss.
I rolled my eyes with a smile before pushing the doors open.
"THANK YOU, LORD AESTREA! WE WILL BE FOREVER IN DEBT WITH YOU!!!"
Instantly, the mixed voice of hundreds of demons reached my ears, my eyes widening as I saw more than three hundred S-level and stronger demons bowing down to me.
Really...
Unlike the dead Emperor of the Human Kingdom...
This one knew what the word 'respect' meant.
