The Strongest Eriri in History

Chapter 296: Eren, Who Craves Power

Eriri and her two companions walked along the pathway on top of the city wall toward the location of the gate. Just as they were about to reach their destination, a sudden hissing sound came from below.

Moments later, five figures landed one after another on the city wall. They were clad in the standard uniforms of the Eldian Empire Corps, with peculiar-looking omni-directional mobility gear hanging on the outsides of their thighs.

Members of the corps could use this omni-directional mobility gear to achieve high-speed movement, a device that granted humanity the power to hunt Titans.

The vests they wore on their backs bore a distinctive emblem composed of twin blades, which represented the Training Corps.

When these five individuals caught sight of Eriri and her companions in the distance, their faces immediately showed expressions of astonishment.

"Who are you people?" The leader, a young man with short brown hair, shouted toward Eriri and her companions. "And how did you get up here?"

Since Eriri and her companions were not equipped with omni-directional mobility gear, the group was naturally curious about how they had ascended the fifty-meter-high wall.

Eriri glanced at the five of them. Though she wasn't particularly familiar with the three in the back, she instantly recognized the brown-haired young man who had just spoken.

He was none other than Eren Yeager, the protagonist of the original story. At this point in time, the powers of both the Attack Titan and the Founding Titan were hidden within his body.

Right now, he was merely a hot-blooded teenager eager to drive all Titans out of the world—not yet the final big boss.

"You don't need to concern yourselves with us. Just go about your own business." Eriri waved her hand nonchalantly, showing no intention of engaging in conversation with them.

The only reason she had come here was to watch the live transformation of the Colossal Titan.

At this moment, the Marleyan spies Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover were likely waiting at the base of the wall for the perfect moment to strike.

Having said her piece, Eriri led Kohina and Antilene to the outer edge of the city wall and casually sat down. Their three pairs of slender legs dangled off the edge, gently swaying in the air, utterly carefree.

Seeing their actions, Eren and the others were instantly alarmed. They quickly approached Eriri and her companions.

"Don't sit there; it's too dangerous," said the sole girl among the five, her voice tinged with worry.

"It's fine. Even if we fall, it won't be a problem. By the way, what's your name?" Eriri smiled gently at the girl, causing the group across from her to freeze in place.

Since there wasn't much else to do at the moment, Eriri decided to strike up a conversation with the cute-looking girl.

Carefully studying the long-haired girl with braids, Eriri finally recalled her storyline from the original series. She was the character Mina Carolina, destined to be devoured by an Abnormal Titan later today.

The girl, snapping back to reality, blushed faintly and responded shyly, "H-Hello, my name is Mina Carolina."

"Mina, huh? What a lovely name. I'm Eriri. Would you like to come over and sit with us?" Eriri smiled and extended the invitation to Mina.

Despite Eriri showing no intention of moving away from the edge, Mina grew visibly anxious. After a moment of thought, however, she agreed to the invitation.

After all, with her omni-directional mobility gear, she wasn't afraid of falling off the wall. Plus, if anything happened to Eriri and her companions, she could step in and save them in time.

At this moment, she completely overlooked the fact that Eriri and her companions had somehow managed to ascend the fifty-meter wall without using any mobility gear.

Although Mina didn't think about it, that wasn't the case for everyone. Standing not far behind them, Eren couldn't get this question out of his mind.

Noticing that Eriri didn't seem inclined to answer him earlier, Eren spoke up again: "Hey, why aren't you answering my question? How exactly did you get up here? Don't tell me you left your mobility gear somewhere else."

This was the only explanation Eren could think of. His words jolted Mina, who had been nervously watching Eriri cradle Kohina in her lap. She immediately turned to Eriri with curiosity.

"Yeah, Eriri, which corps are you guys with?" Mina asked, her tone echoing Eren's curiosity.

Like Eren, Mina also assumed that Eriri and Antilene had stashed their mobility gear somewhere nearby. As for Kohina, she naturally thought the young girl had been brought along by either Eriri or Antilene.

After all, in Mina's mind, the innocent-looking Kohina—who appeared to be under ten years old—couldn't possibly be a member of the corps.

"You don't need to guess. We're not part of the corps, and we don't have any mobility gear either," Eriri said casually.

"Then how did you get up here? Don't tell me you flew up like a bird," Mina said jokingly.

"Oh my, you guessed it!" Eriri responded in mock astonishment.

Although Kohina and Antilene had climbed the wall, it had only taken them a fraction of a second. At that speed, it might as well have been described as flying.

However, upon hearing Eriri's words, neither Mina nor Eren and the others believed her in the slightest.

Humans being able to fly? Such a notion had never even crossed their minds.

"Eriri, stop joking around. How could humans possibly fly?" Mina rolled her eyes at Eriri as she spoke.

At that very moment, several Pure Titans, each about ten meters tall, began lumbering toward the wall from a distance.

These Pure Titans were all of the standard type, likely drawn here by Eriri and her group.

"Sister, I want to cut them down!" Kohina said eagerly, her eyes lighting up as she looked at the towering figures.

She had never cut down such large humanoid creatures before, and now that she had the opportunity, she wasn't about to let it slip by.

"Hmm, sure, go ahead," Eriri replied with a nod, readily granting her permission.

As soon as she received Eriri's approval, Kohina's face lit up with a joyful smile. Without hesitation, she leapt off the city wall.

"No, don't!" Mina exclaimed in shock, instinctively moving to chase after her.

But in the very next second, she realized that Kohina was already standing atop one of the standard Titans.

She then saw two exquisitely crafted long blades appear out of thin air in Kohina's hands. With a flash of steel, the Titan beneath her feet was instantly reduced to countless tiny fragments, utterly obliterated.

Without pausing for a moment, Kohina launched herself at the remaining Titans in the area, her movements swift and decisive.

A few more flashes of her blades later, the rest of the Titans met the same fate as the first, all falling to pieces.

In the blink of an eye, Kohina moved once more, returning to Eriri's arms. The entire process had taken only a few seconds.

"How is this even possible…?" Mina's mouth hung open, her eyes filled with disbelief.

Eren and the others were no different, staring at Kohina as if they had just witnessed something utterly terrifying.

What had transpired in those few seconds completely upended their worldview. Never in their wildest imaginations had they thought that the Titans, creatures so powerful in their eyes, could be as insignificant as ants in someone else's hands.

After the shock wore off, it was quickly replaced by a fervent excitement.

Eren's eyes burned with an intense longing as he stared at Kohina. At this moment, he desperately desired to obtain such incredible power.

If he possessed strength like that, wouldn't driving out all the Titans and reclaiming Wall Maria be a simple task?

With this thought in mind, Eren took several steps forward, reaching out to grab Eriri's shoulder.

But before his right hand could get close, an invisible force suddenly radiated from Eriri's body, sending him flying several meters backward. He landed near a cannon, just half a meter away from the edge of the wall.

"Hey, Eren, are you okay?" A short, buzz-cut boy quickly rushed to Eren's side, his tone filled with urgency. "What just happened?"

He and the other two boys had been watching Eriri's group the whole time, noticing Eren's movements immediately.

However, what they saw was Eren suddenly being flung backward without any warning. They had no idea what had occurred—it looked almost like Eren had thrown himself back on purpose.

But Eren's slightly sprained wrist suggested otherwise, proving that the incident wasn't as simple as it appeared.

At the same time, Eriri's voice suddenly rang out.

"If you want to talk, talk properly. Don't lay hands on people, got it? Consider this a small warning. If there's a next time, don't blame me for being less polite."

Eriri turned her head slightly to look coldly at Eren, her tone icy and indifferent—completely different from the warm voice she had used when speaking with Mina.

Through Eriri's words, the buzz-cut boy and the others quickly realized that the incident just now had been her doing. This made them even more wary of her.

But none of them dared to express any dissatisfaction. One by one, they lowered their heads, not daring to look at Eriri again.

This kind of invisible attack was completely impossible to defend against, and they were truly afraid.

"Alright, don't make me out to be some kind of villain. As long as you don't provoke me, I won't do anything to you," Eriri said lightly. After speaking, she withdrew her gaze and stopped paying attention to Eren and the others, resuming her conversation with Mina.

The events from earlier didn't seem to have any effect on Mina, who was now seated beside Eriri and had not witnessed what had transpired.

Although only a short amount of time had passed, Mina had already felt Eriri's friendly attitude toward her during their conversation.

This friendliness made Mina develop a great deal of affection for Eriri and significantly reduced the tension she had initially felt when interacting with her and her companions.

Hearing what Eriri had said just now, Mina assumed that Eren had tried to make an unwanted move on Eriri. Naturally, she stood on Eriri's side.

Although this was very different from the Eren she remembered, she figured that it made sense, considering Eriri's stunning appearance.

"I'm fine, Connie," Eren said as he stood up, rubbing his wrist, and addressing the buzz-cut boy beside him.

Aside from his wrist, his body hadn't suffered any real harm.

He walked toward Eriri and her companions once again, but this time, he didn't dare to reach out toward Eriri.

"It was my fault for being so reckless. I'm sorry," Eren apologized decisively to Eriri. However, in the very next moment, he followed up with the request he had been meaning to make earlier.

"Please, tell me—how can I become as strong as her?" Eren cast another envious glance at Kohina.

Eriri turned her head, giving Eren a once-over before shaking her head decisively. "Impossible. Don't even think about it. Just give up."

This response, which sounded completely dismissive, left Eren feeling deeply dissatisfied. But he had no way to force the issue. He couldn't very well persist in pestering her, especially since he had a nagging feeling that if he truly did so, the outcome would be disastrous for him.

Eren and the others didn't plan to leave the wall to report what had happened. First, they didn't dare to do so in front of Eriri and her companions. Second, even if they did report it, there wasn't much the corps could do in the face of such overwhelming power—not even with their combined efforts.

Although they still didn't know the origins of Eriri and her companions, they could at least tell that the trio didn't harbor any ill will toward humanity.

Moreover, Kohina had even gone out of her way to hunt down the Titans earlier, which was undoubtedly good news from their perspective.

After Eriri refused to help, Eren didn't press the issue any further. Instead, he rejoined Connie and the others and got to work on the tasks they had come to the wall to complete.

Mina also left the edge of the wall and joined Eren and the others in maintaining the cannons mounted on the wall.

At this point, she was no longer worried about the safety of Eriri and her companions. On the contrary, having met Eriri had put Mina in an exceptionally good mood.

Time passed bit by bit, and the moment for the Colossal Titan to transform and attack the wall drew closer and closer.

The reincarnator squad Eriri had been anticipating still had not appeared. Just as she was about to give up on the idea, her eyes suddenly lit up, and the corners of her mouth curled into a faint smile.

About several hundred meters away from her, a distinct spatial disturbance appeared within her range of perception.

Eriri looked toward the direction of the spatial anomaly and saw ten men and women suddenly emerge on another section of the wall.

These ten individuals, varying in age, were wearing the same standard-issue military uniforms as Eren and his companions. However, the emblem on their backs was not the dual-blade insignia of the Training Corps but rather the rose emblem of the Garrison Regiment.

Moreover, their thighs and lower backs were equipped with brand-new omni-directional mobility gear.

At the same time, an excited voice rang out in Eriri's mind, belonging to Little Skirt.

"Onee-sama! I can sense the aura of a Lord God fragment! At this moment, the delivery squad of reincarnators has arrived!"
