Chapter 234: The Convergence of Pantheons
In the Occult Research Club room at Kuoh Academy, Sirzechs returned once again, but this time he wasn't alone—a dark-haired girl dressed like a magical girl was with him.
Yesterday, he'd already learned from Rias the reason behind her her surge in power, as well as the existence of the True Red Dragon God Emperor and Eriri's immense power.
Thus, he had no concern that the visiting gods would cause Rias any undue trouble—after all, she had the world's most powerful force backing her here.
Their visit today was purely in the capacity of representing the Underworld as witnesses to whatever unfolded.
"Lady Eriri, apologies for disturbing you again," Sirzechs greeted Eriri with utmost respect, showing no less formality just because of his relationship with Rias.
Knowing Eriri hadn't been interested in conversing with him yesterday, he simply introduced the young woman in the magical-girl outfit standing beside him.
"This is our current Leviathan, Serafall Leviathan."
The girl with her cute features, who looked close in age to Rias and her peers, gave Eriri a playful wink.
"Nice to meet you, Lady Eriri. I'm Serafall, or if you prefer, you can call me Magical Girl Milky!"
Before coming, she'd already received a full account from Sirzechs on Eriri and the others, but her naturally lively personality kept her from treating this meeting with excessive solemnity. Still, her heart was filled with reverence for Eriri.
"Nice to meet you," Eriri replied, giving Serafall a slight smile, her demeanor noticeably different from the previous day with Sirzechs.
Sirzechs merely offered a resigned smile at this scene but felt fortunate to have brought Serafall along.
As someone well-versed in the plot, Eriri naturally recognized this magical girl-loving Maou (Satan). Though she wasn't given much screen time in the original story, she was undoubtedly a memorable supporting character.
Serafall was also Sona Sitri's older sister, though their physiques couldn't have differed more.
Serafall was a bit shorter than Sona, but her ample curves set a rather impossible standard for her younger sister to match.
"Long time no see, Lady Serafall." Rias walked up to her, greeting her with a warm smile.
Even though Rias's strength now far exceeded Serafall's, she showed no arrogance, upholding the proper respect and etiquette.
"Oh, Rias-chan, it's been a while," Serafall replied cheerfully.
She then circled Rias, looking her up and down, an exaggerated expression crossing her face.
"Who'd have thought that after such a short time, Rias-chan would already have surpassed me? Poor Sona-chan is still stuck in place!"
"It's just luck, really. I'm sure Sona will catch up soon enough," Rias replied with a polite smile.
The next hour passed quickly.
During that time, Sona Sitri also arrived at the Occult Research Club with her peerage members and immediately joined in some sisterly banter with Serafall.
Suddenly, Eriri stood up from the couch, with Scarlet and Ophis naturally flanking her on either side.
They all sensed dozens of powerful presences quickly approaching Kuoh Academy.
"Rias, it seems we have guests. Let's be sure to give them a proper welcome."
Seeing that familiar gleam of amusement on Eriri's face, Rias could tell that this gathering of gods was in for an experience they wouldn't soon forget. She couldn't help but mentally offer a moment of silence for the visiting pantheon leaders.
Both Sirzechs and Serafall's expressions grew serious, yet they made no move to step forward and intercept the approaching gods.
It was clear that Eriri was the one in control here, and neither of them dared overstep.
Thus, both Sirzechs and Serafall kept their gazes fixed on Eriri, curious about how she would handle these visiting gods.
Eriri raised her right hand and made a casual swipe at the air, and in an instant, everyone found themselves in an entirely different space.
They were now in a massive, circular arena suspended in midair, with an endless, starless void stretching around them in all directions.
To the east side of the arena was a lavish observation platform, centered by a luxurious throne.
Eriri sat in the throne with Scarlet and Ophis tucked close to her, while Aoi Kujo and Liliana stood guard on either side.
Meanwhile, Rias, Sirzechs, and the others were left standing on the viewing platform, all looking around in astonishment.
"Lady Eriri, where are we?" Serafall asked in amazement.
She had just tried to reach out with her senses and realized she could no longer connect with the Underworld, meaning that without Eriri's permission, they would be trapped in this strange space indefinitely.
"I just opened up a dimensional world on a whim for receiving our visitors," Eriri replied casually.
Both Serafall and Sirzechs fell silent. At last, they had a tangible sense of Eriri's overwhelming strength.
This world, sturdier than even the Underworld, had been created with a mere gesture. Just how terrifying would her power be if she made an effort?
"Eriri, are you planning to have them compete here?" Rias, glancing at the arena below that resembled the familiar combat arena of the chat group, guessed Eriri's intention.
"Correct, now let's have the contenders enter."
With Eriri's words, dozens of figures of varying heights and builds appeared on the arena below.
Sirzechs and Serafall quickly focused on the platform, their eyes falling on several familiar faces.
First were their counterparts from the Three Factions—Azazel, Michael, and Gabriel.
Then, they spotted the gods of other pantheons, including Hades, Odin, and Indra, along with a number of prominent members from the Old Satan Faction.
Most of the Old Satan Faction members present were merely at the level of Ultimate-class devils; there were barely any at the Satan-class, making their presence almost laughable compared to the other powerhouses gathered.
Sirzechs also spotted the very person he'd always been on guard against—Rizevim.
Now, Rizevim's mood was far from pleasant. His original plan was to blend into the shadows and stir up chaos from behind the scenes. Instead, he now found himself exposed for everyone to see.
"What's going on? Where is this place?" a clamor of voices echoed from the stage below.
Although nearly all the gods and leaders gathered were among the world's rarest and most powerful beings, they couldn't avoid feeling a bit unsettled when faced with a situation beyond their control.
The instant they arrived in this strange space, each of them had tried to break free, but without exception, all attempts had failed.
They soon realized that although they could still manipulate their powers freely, even flight had become impossible, and their senses were effectively nullified.
At that moment, someone finally noticed the figures seated high above on the viewing platform.
A voice cried out, "Look! Isn't that Serafall of the Underworld? And Sirzechs, along with his sister Rias…?"
This voice prompted the gods and their entourages to turn their gazes toward the observation platform.
When they saw Eriri seated on the throne, several of them couldn't help but flash looks of avarice, Rizevim among them.
Rizevim's nature was one of flippant cruelty; he'd go as far as to kill his own son if it amused him. His boredom had long led him to lose interest in everything around him, but upon accidentally learning of the existence of parallel worlds, he'd been tirelessly plotting to invade these other dimensions, wreaking havoc in his own for that purpose.
But seeing Eriri brought back that long-dulled gleam of interest, even overwhelming his ambition to conquer other worlds. So thoroughly captivated was he that he even disregarded Ophis sitting calmly beside her.
Now, his mind was no longer focused on figuring out what had changed about Rias; instead, he was scheming ways to make Eriri his own.
He didn't realize, however, that every vile thought in his head was perfectly visible to Eriri.
Disgusted by his brazenness, Eriri's brows furrowed.
"Do you wish to die?" The sweet yet commanding voice echoed from the viewing platform, and those few words immediately put everyone on edge.
It was already clear to the gathered gods and other leaders that she was in control here. Even transcendent beings like Sirzechs and Rias deferred to her authority.
Many also recognized Ophis, who sat obediently beside Eriri, making them all the more serious in demeanor.
But they also knew Eriri's words weren't directed at them, given that her gaze was focused elsewhere.
Following her line of sight, they quickly landed on Rizevim, whose face bore a greedy grin.
Rizevim had a notorious reputation; despised by nearly all, he was entirely friendless in this world. Thus, the gathered gods simply watched in silence, waiting to see how things would unfold, all while evaluating Eriri's strength.
"Little girl, do you know who I am? I'm the most powerful transcendent in the Underworld. Why don't you come to me? I can give you anything you desire." Rizevim's arrogance left him entirely undaunted.
But this line sealed his death sentence in Eriri's eyes, though she had no intention of dealing with him personally. Instead, she glanced at Red beside her.
"Scarlet, take out this trash. Garbage should remain as garbage."
Since Eriri had taken Scarlet under her care, she'd yet to see her demonstrate her strength; instead, she'd been treating Scarlet as nothing more than a delicate, gentle little girl, though she was truly the mightiest existence in this world.
"No problem. Leave it to me." Red flashed Eriri an adorably sweet smile. Their days spent together had brought them quite close, and Scarlet had yet to refuse any request from Eriri.
With that, she floated down from the throne and landed in front of Rizevim, her long, crimson hair cascading neatly down her back. The smile she wore for Eriri was gone, replaced with an air of regal authority.
Everyone else on the platform kept a safe distance from Rizevim and Scarlet; no one had any intention of intervening, and for those from the Old Satan Faction, they were far too weak to even serve as cannon fodder.
They all wondered just who this crimson-haired girl was. For her to be sent by Eriri to take care of Rizevim, she had to be formidable indeed.
"Hmph, just a little girl, and you think you can take me on? Don't underestimate me!" Rizevim snarled in irritation, launching himself at Red with a furious shout.
He attacked her with his strongest technique, aiming to finish things with a single blow.
However, his blow was easily intercepted by Red, who caught it with her right hand, emerging entirely unscathed.
The onlookers, including even Indra and Shiva, were all dumbstruck.
They could have taken Rizevim's blow too, but they knew they could never have done so with such ease.
"What the…?" Rizevim's eyes widened as he stared at Red in disbelief.
"This can't be—who exactly are you?" he asked, his voice trembling in fear.
"While Eriri has named me 'Scarlet,' I was once known by another name: Great Red."
Her words fell upon the crowd like a stone tossed into a still pond, sending shockwaves through all present.
"Not only is the Infinite Dragon God obediently at her side, but even the True Red Dragon God Emperor. What kind of being is she?" muttered a middle-aged man with a roguish air, twelve pitch-black wings spread behind him.
He was Azazel, governor-general of the Fallen Angels. Having attempted flight earlier, he'd left his wings unfurled for now.
"After Ophis vanished from the Khaos Brigade's headquarters, I suppose it was inevitable that Cao Cao had been killed," remarked the current White Dragon Emperor, Vali Lucifer, his silver hair shimmering as he watched Ophis and the woman beside her with great interest.
His gaze soon shifted to Scarlet, filling with fighting spirit. His ultimate goal was to defeat the True Red Dragon God Emperor and rise as the True White Dragon God Emperor himself.
Right now, he felt a fierce urge to throw himself at Scarlet and give everything he had in a full-force battle against her.
