The Strongest Body Customization System

Chapter 8: Happy Trouble

'It seems I'm bound to become an abnormal vampire. Huh, although I would remain a lesser vampire for a long time. Once I reach surpass the Beast Titan's height. My strength wouldn't be inferior to those high vampires.'

'When I had enough strength. I'll just accumulate more biomass to customize a 5-line blood core.'

A plan was formed in Ian's mind.

At his current body size, fighting true werewolves was still a stretch. So, Ian understood how strong their captain Barseagle was, a true vampire that could fight those 20-meter-tall true werewolves.

'So the captain is really just pretending at the start to test us. Lesser werewolves shouldn't even make him break a sweat.

Ian pushed the miscellaneous thoughts at the back of his mind. He looked down as the perspective had been different before and after. Now, the mouth of the cave looks tiny in comparison to before. Ian realized that with his current body. He won't be able to fit inside and enter. 'Hmmm... Now this is a real problem. Is this what tall guys on Earth struggle in their day-to-day life?'

This was the first time that he had felt troubled by something like this. As for the feeling? Well, it was a happy trouble.

Ian exhaled and rubbed his temples. "No matter... I'll just guard the entrance while they rest. Yeah, I'll do that. I'm really such a thoughtful guy." His thought process couldn't be as shameless as it was.

Just like that, Ian stared at the red sky and the moon. The roars of the beasts gave him apprehension. He hopes that there will be no big predators to pass by on their location. With his big figure, he would stick out like a sore thumb. Easy to discover...

Of course, it would be better if wild beasts that he could fight or creatures his size appeared. He was quite lacking in biomass after all. He intends to accumulate 5,000 to finally afford the exoskeleton, transform his bone claws to steel, and even customize a kagune as a tail for versatile offensive means.

He couldn't just rely on his bone claws, right? The more tricks he has in his bag. The more he would be difficult to deal with. Ian knew that just being bigger doesn't mean he would always be better. Pound for pound, there are a lot of existence out there of the same size that are far superior to him in other areas.

For instance, those big guys with better muscle density or those with esoteric abilities that allow them to kill creatures that are far bigger than them.

Yes, size does matter, not just the performance. But, he also understood that performance with size is better!

Choices are for kids; wanting it all is for adults! Since he could grow his body while customizing body parts... Why not?

'Should I customize a pair of turbo jets in my feet? Or maybe customize another pair of hearts for better cardiovascular health? With that another pair of hearts, my VO2 max would be ten times superior, and I'd become a monster in the battle of attrition so I could fight like Captain America. I can last for three days and three nights!'

Ian closed his eyes.

...

The next day, the sun rose but the sky remained blood red.

Ian, who was deep in meditation, opened his eyes at this moment. His chest heaved up and down as he inhaled the flowery fresh breeze. The tweeting of birds sounded in every direction.

He doesn't know if he was hallucinating due to having just woke up. He saw a parrot and a crow mating on top of the mango tree.

'What the?'

He blinked three times but they were still there. 'Is this what they call interracial?' he chuckled.

There's really no feeling that would beat the breeze of the morning. There was fog all around. Some obscured the entrance of the cave. He also could hear the splattering water of the river that was a distance from him.

His super hearing might not be as powerful as Superman's, but it was at least thirty or fifty times better than his hearing when he was still a human.

Ian licked his lips. Strangely, even though he was a vampire, he didn't crave blood at all like other vampires. Yeah, he was sure that vampires in the Curtained Imperium were indeed brave of blood according to his memories.

There were even blood banks to serve the royal family. The blood in those banks came from humans in the outside world of Curtained Imperium. In the blood realm, animal blood is for the poor, human blood is for the elite. Human blood is considered a delicacy for the vampire royalties.

Honestly, the original Ian hadn't even had a taste of human blood and he wasn't qualified.

"If I told my old self that I'd transmigrate to a vampire. He would probably slap me."

...

Barseagle opened his eyes and stood up. His gaze landed on the three members of his team. "Where is Ian?" He looked around some more and couldn't find him. "Did he take a bath so early?"

He sniffed the air for clues and he could smell Ian's unique odor, leading at the mouth of the cave. The vampires' noses are famous among the dark races, only slightly inferior to the hound race.

"Rise and shine brats!" He clapped his hands, causing them to echo throughout the cave. He chuckled as he saw Daniel, Liz, and Kate stand up vigilantly. "Early bird gets the worm, ya know?"

"So it was the captain." Daniel was relieved. Then he let out a cold snort. "Captain, you scared me to death!"

"I didn't expect the captain to play the role of alarm." Liz let out a soft chuckle, prompting Kate, who has her disheveled, to say. "I was in the good part of my dream."

"..."

Everyone looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"Wait, where is Ian, captain?" Daniel finally noticed a missing presence so he couldn't help but ask.

Liz and Kate sniffed the air as a response and their gaze turned to the mouth of the cave. "He's outside just near the entrance. What the hell is he doing there?"
