The Strongest Assassin Reincarnates in Another World

Chapter 35: The Pub

[You have killed a general from the Upsilon Empire (1/4).]

[You have gained 1000 XP.]

[You have levelled up.]

[You have levelled up.]

[You have no gained points from the kill since you are alone.]

Seeing all those notifications, Aiden was surprised to know that he had gained almost as much experience as in his first trial total.

But this time it looked like it would take a lot more experience to level up even by one level.

After slashing the head of Oliver, the shapeshifter who had been on the ground trying to reattach himself was starting to disappear into particles.

[You have killed a shapeshifter.]

[You have gained 200 XP.]

[You need 1200 XP to level up.]

The sort of dome that covered their fight was now gone, revealing the dead body of Oliver on the main street.

It didn't seem to vanish like all the beings he had killed before.

'Am I really in another world like for real?' Aiden thought when he saw that he had maybe killed a real person.

'Just where the hell am I? And how does the Otherworld have access to all of those worlds?' He thought, suddenly having even more questions than before.

'Will I be able to go back to Earth?'

Aiden knew that if he were to go back to Earth, he might be able to get back at his organization.

Either way, he needed to complete his task to go back to Maelis and Nova, the universe in which he now lived, Earth didn't matter that much to him in the first place since all he did there was being stuck in a room and completing missions.

While he was thinking, he heard the cries of multiple people in the street.

"AH!!!! A dead body."

"Where? What happened?"

"Wait isn't that Oliver, one of the generals of the army?"

"You're right, how did he die in the middle of this place."

"Fast alert the guards, the killer must be close. He couldn't have gotten quite far."

Aiden hearing the words pronounced by some of the civilians watching this scene, he quickly left the scene and went toward the pub which was originally his objective before getting stopped by that monster.

A few seconds later, he was casually entering the pub acting like nothing had happened, as soon as he entered. The place became dead silent and they all turned to look at him.

Aiden who was ignoring their looks casually walked toward the bar, just like how you see in movies.

"What can I get you?" the barman asked.

"A water," Aiden said not knowing what he could get in a pub since he had never been.

Laughs could be heard as he said those words.

"Who is that guy?"

"Is he serious? A water...really?" One of the guys said while laughing.

The barman serving him asked him, "You're not from around here, huh?"

"Haha...is it that obvious? I was just wondering if I could get some information about something."

"Information? Wait... never mind that, you look like someone I know," the barman said as he started looking at Aiden from top to bottom, analyzing him.

"Hm...same I'm pretty sure I know him from somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it." One of the guys exclaimed.

Aiden looked at them, wondering if he had to tell them who he was but then the barman continued like nothing had happened.

"So, what sort of information did you come here looking for?"

Aiden glanced around himself as if he was scared of saying his words. He knew the Upsilon Empire was a touchy subject.

"Actually, I don't really need information... I'm here for a guide," Aiden said, knowing that having someone guide him to the Upsilon Empire wouldn't be bad.

"Where do you want to go?" One of the girls sitting at one of the tables asked.

Aiden turned around, wondering who had just spoken to him out of nowhere.

It was a girl with blonde hair and green eyes. Aiden could feel right away that there was a strange kind of sharpness behind her eyes.

"I want to go to the Upsilon Empire. Can you guide me there?"

"The Upsilon Empire, huh? A little ballsy, are you?" The barman interrupted.

However, before the barman uttered another word, the blonde-haired girl spoke up. She looked interested in Aiden.

"You want to infiltrate the Upsilon Empire?" the same girl asked, once again.

"Yes, well yeah. I just need to get in, I don't really care how I get there."

She nodded a few times in response as she tapped on the seat next to her.

"Then come sit here, I'm sure we can make a deal. I know a way to get in without getting noticed by anyone," the girl said, as she pointed toward the chair right in front of her.

'I knew that girl was special,' Aiden thought as he walked in the direction of her table.

The Pub was completely silent as Aiden started walking in her direction. A few people were whispering but Aiden wasn't able to understand the slightest thing coming out of her mouth.

But then as he sat down, everyone went back to their earlier discussions completely forgetting about what had just happened.

"So, when do you want to leave?"

The girl sitting across from Aiden didn't look all that strong, but as Aiden had previously there was something special about her. He didn't know what it was yet, but it was only a question of time. She had small arms and legs but one thing which she didn't lack was the two mountains on her chest that moved each time she started speaking.

"As soon as possible" Aiden replied, who once again didn't want to waste any more time in this place.

"How's tonight sounding?"

"That sounds perfect," Aiden replied, as he started getting up, thinking that their conversation was done already.

"Wait, don't leave so fast. We haven't finished talking."

"What more is there to say?"

"Can you protect us if we get into a fight? Are you strong enough?" the girl asked, knowing that she wasn't going to be able to survive if a group of bandits attacked them.

"Protect you?" Aiden smirked. "Of course, I can protect you."

The girl for some reason trusted Aiden at face value, not even questioning whether he really was strong enough.

"Alright then see you tonight, we'll talk about the payment when we meet tonight," the girl said as she made signs that meant that Aiden could now leave.
