The Strongest Artist in Naruto

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Capture of the Seven-Tails

"The Seven-Tails, huh? Seems like you understand art too!" Deidara smirked, poking his head out from behind his clay dragon. The Tailed Beast Bomb had been countered by his exploding dragon, leaving him confident now that he could handle another strike.

Relying on the remnants of his C2 Dragon and its enhanced version, Deidara figured he could withstand two more Tailed Beast Bombs. But judging by the state of the rampaging Seven-Tails Jinchūriki, their body was likely nearing its limit. He doubted they could fire off three more.

"Hmm? Running low on clay?" Deidara reached into his pouch, only to find it nearly empty. Not that it mattered—his chakra reserves were just as depleted. Even with more clay, creating another enhanced C2 Dragon would be impossible, even a regular one was out of reach now.

"If that's the case, I'll just finish you off during this next attack!" Seeing the Seven-Tails charging another Tailed Beast Bomb, Deidara decided to strike first. He directed his dragons to swiftly approach the beast, aiming to intercept the attack. The resulting explosion and shockwave would still inflict significant damage.

[Beep!] The sound of the Tailed Beast Bomb charging echoed ominously. The Seven-Tails noticed Deidara's maneuver but couldn't stop the attack mid-charge. In its berserk state, the Jinchūriki lacked the intelligence to react quickly to such tactics.

"Art is an explosion! Hmm!"

BOOM!

A brilliant explosion erupted, like a second sun blazing in the sky. Its light illuminated even the distant, pitch-black village, let alone the epicenter of the blast.

"That Deidara! He's so reckless!" Sasori muttered, hiding underground with his puppet Hiruko. The massive shockwave radiated from the Seven-Tails' position, leveling the surrounding forest into a crater hundreds of meters wide.

"Success! My art truly is unmatched!"

Deidara descended on his clay bird, landing beside the unconscious Seven-Tails Jinchūriki—a gaunt, elderly man with a deathly pallor.

"Wait, isn't the Seven-Tails Jinchūriki supposed to be a young girl? Around the same age as Naruto or Sasuke," Deidara thought, puzzled. "Looks like this old guy hasn't passed the mantle yet. Maybe this berserk episode is what kills him, leading to the transfer of the Seven-Tails to the next host, just like in the original storyline."

"He doesn't have much time left," Sasori remarked, emerging from underground.

"We might as well take him back to the boss," Deidara suggested. "It's a Tailed Beast, after all. If we've already caught it, we should seal it now rather than letting it cause trouble for the next Jinchūriki."

"Do as you please," Sasori replied coldly.

"Sasori-senpai, don't tell me you're upset because my art outshined yours!"

"Deidara! Do you want to die?"

"You can't hit me, Sasori-senpai!" Deidara teased as his clay bird soared through the air.

"Ah, the Seven-Tails' Jinchūriki," said Pain, his holographic image appearing in multicolored hues. Despite his cold demeanor, a flicker of emotion crossed his face. This capture was ahead of schedule, he hadn't planned to begin the Tailed Beast collection for several more years.

"No one identified you, I assume?" Pain's Rinnegan swept over Deidara and Sasori.

"No. The Seven-Tails took care of the Takigakure shinobi trying to stop its rampage before we even arrived," Sasori replied.

"Good."

"Step aside for now."

"Summoning Jutsu: Gedo Statue!"

The earth trembled as a massive humanoid figure emerged, its nine eyes shut and shackled hands raised. Its sheer size dwarfed most Tailed Beasts, and even as a lifeless husk, its oppressive aura rivaled that of the rampaging Seven-Tails.

Deidara couldn't hide his awe. "The Gedo Statue? It's way more impressive in person. Makes me want to blow it up!"

Pain sighed. "This is the Gedo Statue. It's used to seal the Tailed Beasts. As for the rest, you'll learn in time."

Pain leapt onto the statue's right thumb. "Line up according to your positions. I'm calling an Akatsuki meeting to discuss our new goals."

Not long after, the rest of the Akatsuki members appeared via hologram. Like Deidara and Scorpion, most were seeing the Gedo Statue for the first time. Only Konan and Zetsu seemed unfazed.

"Wait, how is a walking Venus flytrap one of our core members?" a snarky voice chimed from across the statue's fingers.

Deidara smirked, joining in. "Zetsu, are you a human-shaped plant or a plant-shaped human? Can you photosynthesize?"

"You're one to talk," White Zetsu retorted. "A mad bomber with three mouths has no room to judge anyone."

Pain raised his voice, silencing the chatter. "Enough. Akatsuki meeting, officially in session!"
