Chapter 4: The Kingdom of Valeria
Like a dashing falcon, Celine zoomed pass everything and went as fast as possible east. She was nearly creating sonic booms at such an impressive speed and had a grin on her face when a familiar continent appeared. The Mahgen Continent within the group of Magic Continent's in the east was where Celine arrived to.
"Home of the Valerians," Celine thought while landing inside a capital city. There existed a huge castle or mansion in the middle of the capital city but Celine waltzed right in without fear. She had just appeared in another races capital unannounced like an enemy and stepped into their royal castle with ease, what confidence!
However, there was a reason she walked as if she owned the place and didn't care. Nobody would remember her accomplishment of Godhood in her last life but specific people would. Gods. The only ones with memories of past lives are gods. So, Celine wanted to meet one she was familiar with.
"Halt! Stop right there!" Two guards within the castle screamed and used impressive force to subdue the intruder. Some could feel a magical power being used on Celine that she could only replicate using her sigil. She smirked at the thought of being captured, a type of boldness she only showed due to her Godhood, and easily unleashed her sigil to stop the two guards.
Just as she was about to shove them away, a voice resounded in the hall she had caused a fuss in. Something so familiar Celine wanted to cry. A beautiful Valerian princess strutted with pride and spoke confidently not condescendingly but had a hint of curiosity behind her as well. Aria spoke easily. "Stop, I feel that you are not one of our kind. Are you a specialized soldier ready to attack the moment other races were introduced?"
A wry grin made its way to Celine's face upon seeing her comrade and it annoyed the beautiful Valerian, Aria. "How can you be so sure I'm not Valerian? Our species look so similar after all." Celine spoke in a tone that teased Aria. She took great pleasure in annoying her friend from another time.
Aria responded with a cool head at the annoying sight. "The difference is in our magic. Our race has a refined usage and sense of magic but you appear to be so barbarian you need a sigil-like drawing on your hand to draw out magic."
Celine frowned. "Hey now, our race has just discovered magic so try to be fair," she enjoyed the simple conversation with her friend. But, those words caused a confused look to appear on Aria's face.
But the 'peaceful' conversation could only last for so long as an immense pressure fell upon Celine. A power so strong that it buckled her legs and made it impossible to move. No matter how strong she had become, she knew she wouldn't stand a chance against this opponent at this time. Aria looked at the pitiful soul on her knees in pain with a smug sense of disappointment. "Don't kill her father. She could prove useful for intel in the Human Continents and she doesn't seem to wish to cause harm."
"How caring," Celine barely mustered the strength in her body to speak when she saw an elderly king with royal garbs descending upon the hallway she caused a fuss in. "But I know he won't kill me so don't worry." A huge look of defiance and arrogance shone brightly on this annoying woman's face.
Quietly, calmly, the king with bright blonde hair slowly approached the duo. His daughter who had his hair color, watched in respect and reverence while he stepped upon them. "You just invaded the most important Valerian castle in existence and threatened my guards while angering the royal family. How are you so confident you can walk out of this castle alive? How are so confident you won't end up as a slave for the Valerian kingdom?" The man drew his sword from the sheath on his side and pressed it against her neck.
The intensity on Celine amplified by thousandfold. Before, she could barely stand, but now she couldn't even think properly without submitting to the king's unbridled power. At first, the man had just used magic to suppress her but the increase came from his divinity. He had used his Godhood and amplified his strength far too many times to imagine.
However, Celine still had a defiant look on her face. She reached her hand to the blade on her neck without fear for her being beheaded. "Seventy three." She locked eyes with the man and stared him down. "I am seventy three,"she repeated calmly.
The widest grin shot up on the kings face and the power suppressing Celine receded. Without hesitation he helped her stand and gestured for her to walk with him. The crowd that had gathered to watch the scene in the hall and Aria all had the most surprising expressions. They couldn't believe the change in demeanor their king had upon hearing a single number. "Everybody move," he declared. "This is now a private incident not to be disclosed to the public."
As she and the king walked towards the throne room, Celine couldn't help but crack a smile at Aria. Every maid and guard within the castle parted ways and resumed their normal schedule while Aria just stood in confusion. This human woman was clearly not normal in any way.
