Chapter 15: Looking Back, Creating Now
A pale woman with violet hair meditated in the castle's garden and couldn't help but get frustrated. "Meditating is useless, this is nothing like magic at all," she commented.
Celine had trained her magic to perfection and became the best telekinetic mage to ever exist. She had thought to train her divinity like her magic but couldn't find any progress. This led her crazy brain to start to come up with some ideas in rapid succession at a scary speed.
"Hmm, I meditate to train my magic because it immerses me in the world. I trained my telekinetic magic by immersing myself with the movement of objects, just like how Aria would do the same with lightning. However, that training is for magic and those are external concepts being immersed with. Magic power is derived from outside the body as it is literally given from another source. Divine power comes from within because it is my individuality and desire that manifests my godly abilities. So, in order to train my divine powers I would have to immerse within myself, not the outside!"
A rather simple deduction was made in a matter of minutes as Celine changed her focus of meditation. "Now, I have to think about my past and who I am. This is what creates the power of a god." Celine deeply searched her memories to understand herself and truly start becoming a god.
"Finally, we caught the disgusting human traitor that sided with those Valerian assholes," a guard lousily complained to another as the shift-change between the two had come. "Maybe we can finally win some battles now that this bitch is caught."
The guard sitting in the chair sat up in silence while hearing the complaints and looked at the human traitor. "It's a shame it took our God, Malphus, to create a plan to capture her. But the glory of catching her and invading the Valerian kingdom will surely let our king become one of the three human leaders so we can finish this first damned trial."
The guard who had just arrived sat in the chair and watched the other slowly leave and take his break. Suddenly, a terrible gaze flared in his eyes. "The real shame is that we can't have our way with her. If you know what I mean," he said like a snake.
The guard who was about to leave immediately turned back with a devastating glare. "That girl can kill Valerian master mages easily. She is probably one of the strongest humans excluding gods and political power," the man explained.
"The only reason why she can even be contained is with the magic-sealing properties of the room she is in and we still have her cuffed. Open that door, let her use magic, and you'll find your skull in your stomach with your brain on the floor. You won't even have time to undo your belt," he finished his threat and left. The man on the chair, now had a heavy and scared expression.
Celine was in the prison cell with her hands cuffed. The walls of the room were completely white and she sat with her head down. Blood trickled from her hands slowly as she was steadying her resolve.
"This is no different than the day I became a Valerian soldier. I'm being used by people stronger than me and I am forced to survive," she pondered.
She twirled with her bleeding thumbs and suddenly began to pull intensely. The skin and muscle of her bones began to tear as she recklessly pulled and tried to release her hand.
"Survive." That simple thought remained in her head as her thumb began to tear off but her face remained completely placid. Not a hint of the 'carefree' and 'reckless' person existed.
"Power. I need power. Only the strong can survive," she began to charge at the door of her cell.
*Bang! A loud sound shook the guard on standby. *Bang! He fearfully looked at the room of the girl but saw a corpse through the window. The white room was a bloody mess and the prisoner looked dead.
The guard hurriedly opened the door for fear of losing his job when he exploded into smotherines. A creepy smile found its way on the corpse on the floor. "I will survive. I will become the ultimate power."
"Hah, all that I've ever desired in the past was power. What a joke," Celine scoffed at herself in those memories.
She would beat up her past self for thinking so one-dimensionaly but remembered how desperate she was to survive. Celine from the past and Celine now were far too different. They simply couldn't be compared.
During Celine's entire journey, she was fighting for her life and desperately hanging on with barely any hope. She aimed to survive and wanted to conquer her enemies. Celine now just wanted to have a laugh with her comrades.
"I can't look at my past in hopes of finding a desire that I can use for the future. I was too different back then. I have to create a desire strong enough to fuel my divine power now in this new life."
She couldn't stop herself from helplessly sighing at the difficult road ahead of her. "Why couldn't I have just been born with some strong desire like Arthur who wants to protect his kingdom. Now I gotta discover my own," she dragged herself out of her meditation.
