The Seventh Base

Chapter 93: Battlefield Advantage

On the battlefield, the army of the Republic, comprised entirely of Transcendents from top to bottom, was arrayed in different positions. The Transcendents equipped with hot weapons opened fire, instantly unleashing a dense barrage of Energy Light, initiating the first wave of the assault.

In an instant, the Empire's front troops suffered considerable attacks, but the vanguard had very strong defenses. They wore double-layer Armor, outer Armor and Combat Clothes, making them difficult to kill, and many Monster mounts were at the forefront to withstand the attacks.

"Kill."

A solemn voice rang out, the beast roared fiercely, charging at the front. The massive Monster flapped its wings, bared its fangs, and lunged forward, its terrifying speed reaching the target in a brief attack.

O'Brian Republic had many top military Transcendents who advanced simultaneously, forming an impeccably sharp spear formation with their icy Long Spears, which stabbed straight forward, constantly emitting a piercing sound as blood splattered in the air, with Monsters letting out mournful roars.

Meanwhile, the fully armed Transcendents charged forward from the sky, colliding with the Empire's Transcendents in a frontal battle.

A ten-thousand-strong army may not be large on a planet, but its assembling for combat made the scene extremely spectacular.

Moreover, this was a war of tens of thousands of Transcendents at the brink, with attacks erupting in an instant that were utterly terrifying.

The moment the battlefield made contact, the violent energy was like a meat grinder, with many Transcendents meeting a tragic end on the battlefield, becoming the cannon fodder of the Republic and Empire war.

"Kill Heath O'Brien." A figure roared ferociously, swinging a terrifying Thunderbolt Battle Axe downward, and a terrible ray of thunder appeared in the sky, directly slicing the person in front into two parts.

Their goal this time was not to fight intensely but to conduct a swift killing, to assassinate Heath O'Brien.

Prince Lonco Kales of the Kales Empire wanted to claim the head of the Republic Leader's son. If successful, it would be a worthwhile endeavor, even without the treasure of the Empire's Old Imperial Family.

To kill Heath O'Brien held significant meaning for the Empire.

Within the Republic's camp, Heath O'Brien was constantly retreating, having withdrawn to the center of the crowd, surrounded by his core guard, with the outer area protected by the Republic army and Mystic God Temple personnel positioned ahead.

He was naturally aware that the Empire's personnel intended to kill him, having mentally prepared for this before entering the Empire Trial Field, and thus, he needed to rely on Mystic God Temple personnel.

The battle erupting ahead was extremely fierce, with Mystic God Temple Transcendents positioned in the front, while Capital Star Ao Temple Transcendents were centered.

Upon seeing the army advancing, a terrifying star cloud appeared above Oxso's head, with countless swords whistling forth from the star cloud, as other top figures also unleashed terrifying attacks, killing those close to this area.

"Clang..."

A loud crash sounded, causing many people's eardrums to vibrate, feeling as though their heads were about to explode, as waves of terrifying sound swept forth as intangible energy, while the person wielding the War Axe cleaved out an axe, directly clearing a path for many to rush toward the central area.

"Humph."

A person from the Mystic God Temple snorted coldly, with a top Capital Star Transcendent taking a step forward, raising a hand, and creating an invisible Energy Shield at the front.

"Ice Domain."

Someone spoke, and the temperature of the space plummeted rapidly, with the sound of shattering echoing as the Shield broke, and someone charged through. The Monsters and Transcendents at the forefront instantly froze into ice, becoming statues yet maintaining their aggressive momentum.

"Bang, bang, bang..." Oxso's Flying Sword slaughtered, harvesting lives.

Upon witnessing this, more top figures among the Empire Transcendents moved toward that battlefield, confirming the nuisance of Mystic God Temple personnel.

In the area where Xu Mo was located, there were Empire Transcendents launching attacks toward him, as the previous combats had made Xu Mo the focus of "attention" from the Kales Empire.

A group of figures, riding Monsters, charged toward this side, wearing ferocious Armor, part of the Kales Empire's Monster legion. The masks of their Armor were extremely hideous and terrifying, as Monsters charged straight toward Xu Mo's side with extreme ferocity, with several Transcendents being mangled at the front.

When war breaks out, even top Transcendents are mere cannon fodder, for they are all equals.

"Boom."

Augustus's Gravity Domain erupted instantly, covering the surrounding area, causing the Monsters to suddenly become uncomfortable, letting out low growls as their massive bodies seemed to plummet downward.

Zero took a step forward, spiritual power bursting instantly, making the Monsters even more feral, shaking off their masters. This prompted the Empire warriors to reveal a strange look and then abandon their Monster mounts, lunging toward Xu Mo's side. Despite being hindered by the formidable Gravity Domain, feeling as though trapped in a quagmire, the terrifying momentum kept them charging forward.

"Lay down your weapons."

A cold voice echoed in their minds, causing their heads to tremble violently, feeling as if a domineering figure had walked into their minds, issuing orders like a Queen.

The black Mecha, like a ghost of the netherworld, charged forward with terrifying speed. The War Saber in Xu Mo's hand erupted with blue Energy Light, slicing off a head with a decisive slash, entering harvest mode.

Under the dual assistance of Augustus and Zero, the combat strength of the Transcendents entering this area would suffer extreme weakening, unable to withstand Xu Mo's assault, with Lowell frantically delivering finishing blows on the side.

In the blink of an eye, seven or eight people had fallen here, all of them elite soldiers of the Kales Empire.

"Kill them." A cold voice came, and another large force charged towards Xu Mo and his group. The people in front avoided them, as Heath O'Brien's special identity had confidants and army protection, with a batch from the Mystic God Temple willing to offer protection.

But it was different for Xu Mo. Who would be willing to be cannon fodder for him against the Imperial army?

This was within Xu Mo's expectations, so when Heath O'Brien asked him to take action earlier, he was unwilling, as it made him an easy target for the Kales Empire.

Now, unfortunately, it was as he had predicted, the Kales Empire's army had set their sights on him.

He cursed Heath O'Brien in his heart, but there was no point in cursing now.

"Retreat."

Xu Mo spoke, and the Mecha turned to retreat, with Zero naturally following him, Augustus and Lowell also following, along with Hudson. Their group had a relatively good relationship, always staying as a small unit.

However, at this moment, the situation was extremely dangerous for Xu Mo, and their willingness to retreat with him counted as sharing the risk.

The battlefield had become chaotic, with both sides engaged in fierce combat. Xu Mo retreated from the side, heading far away, intending to abandon the main force. The Empire Trial Field was a vast planet, and the armies would have to separate after the battle. If a single army advanced in the same direction, chances of gaining opportunities would be slim.

An Imperial squad pursued Xu Mo and his group. This squad had over twenty members, a powerful lineup, with the leader possessing an overwhelmingly domineering aura—top notch Transcendents from the Empire, determined to claim Xu Mo's head.

The Mecha emitted powerful Energy Light as it flew in the air. Zero was in the left arm of Xu Mo's Mecha, protected within. Augustus, Lowell, and Hudson were on either side, the five moving at great speed.

The chasing squad followed relentlessly, and Xu Mo cursed in his heart, thinking their target should be Heath O'Brien. Go kill Heath O'Brien instead; he had no interest in tangling with Empire forces.

"Can't shake them off." Augustus spoke beside him. Xu Mo's Mecha was fast, but Augustus and the others struggled to keep up, forcing Xu Mo to slow down. The chasing Imperial Transcendents were also fast and couldn't be shaken off.

"Then we'll kill them."

An icy voice came from the Mecha.

Everyone nodded, a cold gleam flashing in their eyes.

However, over twenty top-tier Transcendents would not be easy to kill.

"Monsters ahead." Lowell said. Xu Mo raised his head and saw a group of monsters in the sky.

"Go."

Xu Mo suddenly changed direction, heading towards the direction of the monster group in the sky.

"Zero, you take control." A voice came from Xu Mo's Mecha.

"Alright." Zero nodded, her eyes turning silvery white as she stood on the Mecha's arm. Her silver hair fluttered in the wind, and Spirit Storm was released, her whole body shining brightly with dazzling Energy Light, akin to a queen.

A giant flying monster came to attack them, its head hideous, and Zero glanced at the monster, her image appearing in the monster's large eyeball.

"Buzz…" Xu Mo detoured from the monster's side, and it did not attack them, instead continuing ahead, directly rushing towards the Empire's pursuing Transcendents.

"What's happening?" The Imperial Transcendents frowned, puzzled at why the monster bypassed their opponents to attack them.

They launched a powerful attack, instantly dismembering the monster, but subsequently, more and more monsters charged at them, making them feel something was amiss.

This wasn't a coincidence; the opponents could avoid monster attacks or exert some control over the monsters, causing them to bypass their opponents and attack them.

They became embroiled in a battle with the monsters, and at this moment, Xu Mo and his group suddenly turned and returned.

Xu Mo charged at a Transcendent wearing Armor on the left, who saw Zero on the Mecha's arm, at which point Zero appeared surreal. Soon, his spiritual power was invaded.

A strong sense of crisis struck him, and when his spiritual power was invaded, he sensed danger, but it was too late. Before he could break free, the Mecha was upon him, the terrifying blue-glowing War Saber slashed down, emitting a cracking sound as the Armor shattered and the head was severed.
