Chapter 67: March on the United Nations Headquarters
The March to the United Nations and the New Alliance
The tense atmosphere in the underground research facility beneath the Imperial Palace reflected the gravity of the situation. The protagonists had already witnessed ADAM’s overwhelming power firsthand, and they were fully aware of the threat it posed. However, with EVE now awakened as Athena and Eliza by their side, the tide of battle had shifted.
EVE, with her long purple hair swaying gently, spoke softly, “This is the underground of the United Nations headquarters…” Her voice carried a focused intensity as she sharpened her mental concentration. In response to her will, the holographic device at the center of the research lab automatically activated. A three-dimensional map of the UN headquarters appeared, displaying the detailed structure. As the hologram moved, key security points were highlighted in real-time.
Eliza, with her distinctive blue hair, manipulated the hologram under EVE’s guidance. “The laser security here will be particularly troublesome. When we infiltrate, we must be extremely cautious in this area. I plan to hack the system and disable it, but we can’t predict what might happen,” she added calmly.
At that moment, a notification appeared on the lab’s door. The group quickly assumed a defensive stance, but moments later, a message arrived from a representative of the Japanese government. “A delegation from the Freemasons is here. They are an ancient organization that has been tracking a mysterious entity for a long time. While we don’t have all the details, they are offering their assistance.”
Koizumi Satoshi (Loki) deactivated the door’s security system and cautiously opened it. The Freemason representatives entered, greeting the group with their distinctive handshake—a traditional gesture that carried a sense of hidden meaning.
“We have been chasing this mysterious entity for many years, but getting close to the truth has never been easy. Now, however, it is time to join forces and confront it together,” the leader of the Freemasons spoke quietly, his voice laced with determination.
“You have revealed to us that the entity we’ve been searching for is called ADAM, and we believe this is indeed the same being we’ve been tracking,” he continued, his words underscored by a solemn resolve.
The Freemason delegation consisted of six members, each an expert in a different field. They had been pursuing ADAM’s traces for many years but had never been able to confirm its existence. Now, with their newfound alliance with the protagonists, they were ready to get closer to the truth.
The protagonists accepted the Freemasons’ offer to fight alongside them. They turned back to the hologram, refocusing on their plans to infiltrate the UN headquarters. EVE and Eliza would utilize their skills to fully analyze the security systems, recalibrating their strategy to maximize the chance of success.
“Focus here,” EVE said, pointing to a specific part of the hologram, her purple hair brushing lightly against her shoulders. “This section is particularly well-guarded. Eliza and I will try to neutralize the security, but if we fail, you must be ready to adapt quickly.”
Eliza ran her fingers through her blue hair as she added, “Splitting into two teams will be the best approach while I hack the systems. The laser surveillance is especially tricky, so be prepared for physical confrontations if the systems aren’t fully disabled.”
At that moment, the leader of the Freemasons stepped forward. “From the information we’ve gathered over the years, there should be another hidden passageway leading to the underground. Let’s overlay that information onto the hologram.” Following his suggestion, EVE integrated the new data, revealing the location of the concealed route.
“There,” the Freemason leader pointed to the passage. “If we take this route, we might secure an alternative point of attack rather than a full frontal assault. But be aware, this information is not entirely confirmed, so proceed with caution.”
Koizumi Satoshi (Loki) nodded thoughtfully. “It’s worth considering. With the Freemasons’ help, our chances of success increase.”
“We will commit all our resources to this mission. Once the preparations are complete, we’ll move out,” said the Freemason leader, his voice firm with resolve.
The meeting progressed smoothly, with everyone understanding their role and completing the final checks. The Freemasons were ready, and the entire group was filled with determination as they prepared to march on the United Nations headquarters.
“Let’s move out,” Koizumi Satoshi (Loki) commanded, and with a nod of agreement, everyone left the research facility, their minds set on the mission ahead.
