Returning from the Other Dimension
Loki and his companions returned from the other dimension, bringing along Elias, the village chief’s son from Elysion, and the sage Lydia. They had made it their mission to help these two adjust to their new lives in the real world. It was soon revealed that Lydia’s existence in the real world was tied to her unique trait as a long-living fish, which allowed her to exist in both worlds simultaneously.
Lydia’s Existence and Her Fish-Like Traits
Lydia chuckled softly as she began to explain, “The reason I can exist in this world like this is because, in the real world, I am actually a fish. Fish have the ability to let one half of their brain sleep while the other remains active, which is how I can move between the real world and the other dimension.”
Loki (Satoshi Koizumi), surprised, asked, “So that’s your secret. You’re still alive as a fish in the real world.”
Nodding, Lydia continued, “Yes, I belong to a species of long-living fish, so even though I’m active in the other world, I continue to live on in the real world.”
Elias, curious, inquired, “What kind of fish are you? You say you live a long time—how long are we talking?”
Lydia smiled and responded, “My species can live for several decades. That’s why, even though I’m active here, hardly any time passes for me in the real world.”
Loki, impressed, said, “That means you can continue to be active in the real world for a long time too.”
Lydia nodded contently. “Yes, but in the real world, I’m still a fish, always in the water. Being able to move freely in this other world is such a refreshing experience for me.”
The Blessings of the Gods and Protection of Memory
Loki (Satoshi Koizumi) added, “And the reason you don’t lose your memories of the other world when you breathe the air of the real world is thanks to the blessings of the gods. Normally, people forget everything about the other world when they return, but you and Elias are different.”
Elias nodded in agreement. “Yeah, our memories of the other world are protected by the power of the gods. Without that, we wouldn’t have made it this far.”
Lydia also agreed. “Indeed, it’s because of the gods’ blessings that I haven’t forgotten my time in the other world, even after being back in the real world.”
Lydia’s Harrowing Experience in the Real World
Lydia’s expression darkened slightly as she began to recount a frightening experience from her past. “Even though I’ve been a fish in the real world, there was a time when I almost got caught by a fisherman. It was terrifying.”
Loki (Satoshi Koizumi): “What happened?”
With a furrowed brow, Lydia continued, “One day, I got hooked on a fishing line and was suddenly pulled out of the water. I couldn’t breathe, and I thought I was going to suffocate. But somehow, I managed to break free and escape back into the water.”
Elias, shocked, asked, “That must have been terrifying. How did you manage to escape?”
Lydia smiled faintly. “It might have been due to my strong instincts. As a fish, my body is resilient, and miraculously, the line snapped, and I was able to get away.”
Loki looked at her kindly and said, “That must have been tough. But now that you can move freely in the other world, you won’t have to go through anything like that again.”
Lydia nodded with a soft laugh. “Thank you, Satoshi. Life in the other world is different, but both places are important to me.”
Disguising and Strolling Through the City
Loki and the others disguised Elias and Lydia as they walked through the city to avoid drawing attention.
Loki (Satoshi Koizumi): “Here, wear these hats and sunglasses. It’ll help you blend in.”
Elias laughed as he put on a hat. “It’s been a while since I’ve worn a disguise. I shouldn’t stand out now.”
Lydia put on the sunglasses and smiled. “The fashion of this world is quite fun.”
A New Determination
After concluding a meeting at the research lab, everyone confirmed their roles and prepared for the next steps.
Loki (Satoshi Koizumi): “Alright, is everyone ready? This time, we’re going to challenge ADAM.”
EVE: “We’ll combine all our knowledge and power to ensure victory.”
Lydia: “I’m excited to fight alongside allies in the real world.”
Elias, with a serious expression, said, “It’s time to put the experiences we gained in the other world to use and give our all here.”
