The Seeker | Volume 2

Chapter 59: Chapter 150

"Help, help me please!" Damien cried as he bursted into the police station.

All of the nearby law enforcement turned their heads to look at the young boy with white hair who had entered.

One of the officers, a young woman with short brown hair knelt down, her face knit with concern. "What if it, sweetie?"

Damien managed to catch his breath, tears t still streaming down his face. "My friend got killed by a scary demon woman!"

Upon hearing this, the woman turned her head and exchanged a concerning glance with the other police in the room.

"A demon woman?" She asked softly.

Damien nodded. "She killed my friend! She then undressed and-"

Before Damien could finish speaking, she stood up and approached a wooden door.

"She undressed, you said?"

Damien nodded quickly.

"A demoness…" She mumbled as she opened the door quickly. After this, a few more officers entered the room.

After a few moments they left the room carrying an assortment of items. They carried long knives, a hand pistol and an artifact reminiscent of a necklace.

"Where do you live, honey?" The black haired woman asked.

"At my daddy's house!"

"Do you know your address?" She continued.

"Uhm…" The child quickly fell silent.

"I don't know." He choked up.

The woman sighed softly as she reached out her hand, wrapping it gently around Damien's quivering one.

"Would you mind showing us to it?" She asked softly.

Damien nodded quickly as he and the police left the establishment.

Damien eventually led them to the silencers headquarters, which was also Aaron's house.

"This is the place? Are you sure you and your daddy live here?"

Damien nodded with a blatant certainty as one of the officers broke down the door with a loud clang.

Sylvie's head jolted left towards the door. Her naked form on the table over Sabestian's corpse.

"I-is that…your daddy?" The woman asked Damien.

Damien didn't have time to respond. One of the officers drew their gun, pointing it at Sylvie.

The nude woman quickly grabbed her shirt and put it on. She then slowly grabbed her drawles and put them on too, making her appear more decent.

"I assure you I mean no harm." Sylvie said.

Suddenly, the entire room seemed to grow hazy. An illusory, semi-transparent purple mist seemed to envelop the space around the officers.

The officer who had their gun drawn lowered their weapon, a tiny stream of drool ran down their mouth upon seeing Sylvie's body.

The female officer closed her eyes as she reached for the artifact resembling a necklace and put it on. As soon as she did so, blurry and transparent fireworks seemed to explode inside of the green charm.

All the purple, semi-transparent mist in the area soon dissipated. She was using the necklace to counter the demoness charm ability!

Sylvie let out a low growl as she leaped off the table, doing a front flip and rolling onto the carpet.

The female officer opened her eyes and took out her knife, slicing at the air. Sylvie's lips curled up as she dodged the knife with an inhuman sense of efficiency.

The officer's who had been gripped by the effects of the demoness-charm mist, recovered from the fatigue and took out their guns.

Damien watched the scene in horror as he covered his ears; the deafening sound of firearms and mystical abilities was briefly reduced behind his hands.

Sylvie kicked the female officer in the chest, before swiping her legs. Even in her layered, complex dress, Sylvie's Order 6 Demoness agility attributes came into the clutch.

Sylvie then turned illusory as strange shadows began to leak from her body, dripping onto the floor. With a quick motion, her body disappeared under the floorboards.

The officer's eyes widened as her eyes darted around for Sylvie. The others in the room, including Damien, were now on edge.

Suddenly, the strange shadow jumped up from under the floorboard! With a sudden surge forward, Sylvie was able to combine 2 Demoness abilities of different Orders: Ethereal Touch and Soul Tether, to enhance her shadowy reflexes to an extent where the officer couldn't see her!

The female officer was taken hold of by the shadow! Her eyes widened as the illusory sensation of air being sucked into her mouth overwhelmed her!

Sylvie, who had now possessed the officer, grinned wildly as three bullets graced her chest. Sylvie's new body didn't budge as black blood leaked from the wounds.

Damien ran and hid behind one of the officers, who's eyes were wide in a new, overwhelming sense of horror and fear, one he couldn't grasp.

"Get away!" Damien cried out at the officers' possessed form.

Sylvie's lips curled up even more as she leapt at the officer, clawing at his chest. The officer let out a help as purple flames engulfed the area of the scratch.

The smell of burning and charred flesh filled the air as Sylvie used Hellfire Spark to a small yet potent extent.

Damien's wings flapped quickly as he attempted to defend himself from Sylvie. Even with his almost four years of cage fighting experience, none of his opponents were Seekers, they were only people who were good at fighting with their arms and legs.

Upon this realization, Damien felt defenseless.

After the officer's heart had been engulfed by the purple flames, he collapsed to the ground with a clatter. The other officers in the room didn't attack the woman for some reason.

They appeared frozen like statues, their eyes wide with terror as their hands shakily held the guns that had yet to be fired.

Within their eyes, Damien could see a faint purple hue within their pupils. Did Sylvie inadvertently use her ability to keep them situated?

Damien didn't have time to think about this. When he turned his head, he saw that the Demoness in the officer's body had disappeared, leaving the house cold, sterile and empty.

The second the Demoness departed the scene, the illusory mist in the officers eyes disappeared. They all took a deep breath as if they had been underwater for a long time, frantically searching the scene for any trace of the Demoness criminal.

"S-she's gone!" Damien cried as he knelt down over the officer's charred body.

Olive's eyes gradually adjusted to the lack of sunlight, instead being filtered by the thick dark gray clouds. She leaned up in bed and rubbed her eyes tiredly.

She remembered that she wasn't inside of her house anymore, and instead inside of the Katshin Empire's many bedrooms.

She changed out of her nightgown and opened the door, looking down the long hallway that stretched either side of her bedroom.

She sighed softly as she stepped into the hallway and felt her slippers against the marble flooring.

Just then, she heard something.

She looked right down the hallway and heard indistinct voices that sounded hushed.

Olive followed the source of the voices and came to a door with a red symbol etched into the wood. She hesitantly pressed her ear against the door, listening to the conversation.

The voices being the door weren't ones that she recognized.

Just then, the door opened and a middle aged man with crimson red hair and wearing a two piece pajama set walked out.

Olive immediately darted left using her Demoness agility, making herself unseen to the man. The man with red hair looked both ways before walking out of the room.

Two more individuals left the room, they too had crimson hair.

One of them was a young girl, the other was an older looking man.

Olive watched the mysterious people walk down the hallway and hang left, descending down the staircase.

She kept quiet as she followed them. The group of three then hung left again, approaching a black door with a sigil on it.

The older man pressed his hand against the door, and the sigil lit up. Olive could briefly recognize the sigil.

With the few glimpses she's seen of my forehead, she could quickly deduce it was the same sigil!

"Come, quietly." The older man turned back to look at the others standing behind him. He gestured with his hand for the others to follow suit.

After the three had entered the room and shut the door, she closed her eyes and used a Demoness ability she had learned at Order 8 to pry through anything that wasn't mystical.

But since the door had a sigil, could it be classified as so? Olive wanted to test that theory.

She used Prior Sight to listen to the conversion behind the door.

"Why has mother been this way?" The young girl asked.

"We don't know, but her condition has been worsening the last few days." An older voice replied, which Olive guessed was the older man she had previously seen.

"She's the only Mid-Order in the family. Is this some sort of side effect of getting access to such power?" The middle aged voice asked.

Just then, the room fell silent. After a few moments, Olive heard the sound of a rocking chair echoing in the room.

"Papa!" The young girl cried.

A low, pain-filled groan was heard, and then silence.
