THE SECRET PACT

TOMMY WALKED TO HIS HOUSE on tiptoe and silently opened the door. For his comfort, Katy was still in bed, apparently she hadn't noticed he had left. He needed to take a good shower to clean off the blood stains from Will and Kid and put his clothes to soak, so she wouldn't see anything other than the usual.

After doing so and taking his hot shower, he went to his room and lay down to sleep, the dawn was already ending and tiredness weighed on him.

— Tough night, love? — she asked, without even opening her eyes, her voice choked with sleep.

Leo was startled, he hadn't expected that, but he answered:

— Yeah, some last-minute problems to solve.

She almost fell asleep again, but she still managed to say:

— I hope this doesn't get in the way of our lives, love... — and she started breathing again like someone who is sleeping.

Seeing her drifting off to sleep, Tommy calmed down, lay down next to her carefully and fell asleep. However, he could not get the new phase that was entering his life out of his head.
