The Scientist of Monster Creation, forcefully Hired

14. What comes next?

“Hohoho, I see that you recognised my Greatness and hurried my Request.”

”Yes Yes here is the Bill.”

”Ahhhh… couldn’t you go a bit lower?”

“What’s up, can’t pay 7000 Gold? If you weren’t feeling generous that Time, you could have paid that much as Prepayment, Nooo?”

”But it’s just a Zombie! And 3000 Gold more expensive than the one I sold to you!”

”isn’t it Great! A normal Zombie Blueprint was 4000, and this one is only 7000 and so much better! You can Test it yourself!”

*sigh* “Fine, can I test the Performance somewhere?”

”Huh? Who do you think i am? You can test it yourself after Buying.”

”…”

”Or look at the Brochure.”

”Please say that first, next Time.”

Pffft, next Time.

”Ohh, he is so fast! That genius! How did you do that?”

”Find it out yourself.”

”Yes yes, how unfriendly.”

Before he can get to absorbed onto the Brochure, I make him Leave. I really don’t like him, but he seems to be ecstatic by the new Zombie.
With that, my Balance was restored to 8800 Gold and I blacklisted the annoying Lich.

Soo, next I want to make Gustavs request.
I don’t know how magic works for Monster i make, so it will be a good learning experience.

I have two Ideas.
One would be a Turtle which will bury itself and shape the terrain to the Dungeon sides Advantage.
The other would be a long range Attacker.
Both would be Turtles, so let’s start with making a turtle.
A Land Turtle for that matter. Sea Turtles wouldn’t fit in.

As Chloe goes through the Storage room, she finds herself at the Stone Storage, or whatever it’s called.
In there are Magic Stones of varies Sizes, and up to middle sized ones for four Elements.
Fire, Water, Air and Earth. They have various shapes, but crystal like structure and shaped edges in common.
She searches for one which is slightly bend and can be placed directly under the shell.
Looking at far behind, there is another crystal.

Opposes to the Magic Stones, which look crystal, but don’t take on form like natural grown crystal, this one does.

And it has a different Hue. Magic Stones look like the Element.
A Dark intransparent Brown for Earth. A nearly glowing red for Fire.
A light bending Blue of water, like the Ocean. A transparent Stone for Air.

But the Stones behind look different.
Identify says they are Sorcery Stones.
A yellow Brown Quader Like stone for Earth. Many Tiny soft green Needles for Air.
A Ruby Red Crystal, shaped like one would imagine Rock Crystal. And a stone looking like Turquoise for Water.

Two tiny and one small one, per Element.
She takes the small Earth Sorcery Stone and a small Earth Magic Stone.
they are called small, but are bigger than the Zombie ones. She probably shouldn’t compare to the Zombie Magic Stones.
But the middle ones are definitely Overkill. She can feel it with Mana sense.
The middle ones have some overflowing Mana, which can probably make a bigger body move.
Probably bigger than a Wolf, by two sizes, till the size of polar bears. And she knows how big they are.
The small ones? A living Organism to the size of Wolf, maybe one size bigger, maximum. But it would be strained a bit, so no Magic casting Wolfs.
How can she say? Mix between intuition, identify and Monster Creation. She can get a picture of the Rank of the Material.

Same with Bones, Shell and Flesh. She only took the lowest ranked ones for the Zombie.
for the Shell and Bones, it’s the second lowest, flesh being the lowest.
Internal Organs also have kind of a ranking, but it’s mainly the Brain.
Other organs seem to be affected by the Flesh, and the Brain depends on the Magic abilities of the Magic Stones.
The Brain more determines the Maximum than anything else.

For the Brain, she also takes the worst turtle brain she has.
It should be suffice, since it’s for monster turtles who attack people.
No brain she has is actually stupid, at least from what she can tell.

Back to the operation Room.
This Time, most of the process will not be explained, besides the important things.
The shell is comparatively round and the legs stubby.
The Magic Stone is under the shell, at the closest spot to the head. From the Turtles Left of the spine.
She put effort into the Neck and Head. She didn’t know how, but it seems Magic gets focused into the head, especially Eyes, more than anything.
But a Tiny part between neck and Magic stone is inefficient.
Is it because of her effort? Some kind of intend that got carried over through touch?
She tries to rework it. The part is now more efficient, but it’s visible that the head has some leeway.

The Mana Veins detection is a mix of Organic Magic and Mana Sense.
She wanted to find out if Mana flows properly, but living beings have an inborn protection against that.
And unliving don’t really have Mana Veins, how she call it. But one can send Mana and see how properly it flows.
But there are compatibility issues. Organic Mana was easy, Mind Mana in the Head and Spine, mostly and Snow and Gear were nearly unresponsive inside the Turtles unloving Body.
After some testing, she can command the Turtle to not offer any resistance, and giving the last push with Organic Magic.

Chloe goes one last Time over the Turtles feet.
Rough, hopefully useful for some kind of stone plate as movement method.
The little Turtle really isn’t made for walking at uneven terrain.

Completely standing up, the turtle is roughly 23 Cm high, not the tiniest, but definitely not fearsome.
What impressed Chloe is its response to movement in its sight.
It can instantly lock target, over 150 for the movement of a pen.
It’s Kinetic Vision also seems good enough, and can keep up with three targets.
If it can cast Magic at all of them is rather unlikely, but targeting one and keeping eyes at another may be barely in its capabilities.

Next is its Magic.
Chloe was excited. Its Magic!
Yes, she can also do Magic, but it’s some snowflakes and making flesh move weirdly.
It is neither cool nor enchanting. But this will probably some real offensive magic!

The Result? Four second interval for Fist sized stones which hit as hard as a brick.
A Brick wich can fly 100 Meters in 8 Seconds. Definitely hurts, especially since they always have a tip.
Another Spell affects the terrain. It’s not quite Caltrop, more like Lego building blocks. Not optimal to pierce heavy boots.
But when they were simple leather shoes like in the Middle Ages? Ouch.
The Sone to cast Earth Magic from the Ground is quite small, so it isn’t sure, but the spell hasn’t to be cast around the Caster, it seems.
Maximal distance can’t be found out.

The probably strongest spell (when one has good boots) is the Earth Lance, or how it’s called.
10 Seconds to cast and powerful. A bit slower than the Earth bullet like thing, with 10 seconds for 100 Meters, but wights a lot more.
For comparison, it’s 1,40 long and 35 cm at its widest. It may not be the most impressive measure, but still plenty deadly.
It also has a self defensive spell. In short, some spikes appear around it. 5 Seconds to cast.
It seems to be a survival instinct. The Turtle seems to be unable to place it tactical, or cast some of the earthen Spike in other form.
Chloe tried to imitate Danger for the Turtle, using Mind magic. When she got to close, the turtle began to retreat into its shell and cast the Magic.

Its last spell is what she hoped for. Not exactly, but good enough.
The turtle can move stone and Earth under its feet a bit to better climb through terrain.
It can also go up in angels she didn’t expect it to be able to go up.
It has at least better mobility secured. She never expected it to be fast and the turtle is by all measure slow.
But it can at least get at most places much easier with such a spell, then his little body would allow for.

Sniping position secured!
Wait, will it start a fight with the Earth Lance?
