Chapter 687: Claw Machine Maniac
"Tell me what it means first!"
Shirley didn't want to be toyed with without understanding.
Qin Hao chuckled, "It's a title similar to 'knight,' so is Her Highness the Princess willing?"
Glancing at the surrounding dolls, Shirley made up her mind. She took a deep breath and said in awkward Chinese, "Brother Hao..."
Wow, what a thrill!
Qin Hao was excited beyond words, being called "brother" by such a beautiful foreign girl, who could ask for more?
However, he shook his head and said, "Wrong pronunciation, not 'Brother Hao,' it's 'Good Brother.' Also, the tone should be sweeter, or it won't count."
"You!"
Shirley was annoyed but controlled her anger for the sake of Pikachu and other dolls.
After another deep breath, with a smile, she said, "'Good Brother'..."
Qin Hao shivered with joy and laughed, "Hahaha, it's so melodious, much more pleasing than 'knight'!"
Onlookers nearby were bewildered by the scene.
A foreign beauty calling a Huaxia guy 'Good Brother'? Isn't this a bit too strange?
A few young guys were green with envy towards Qin Hao. Damn, how is this guy better looking than me, that he could even capture such a goddess!
Surrounded by various gazes, Shirley felt incredibly shy and spoke more forcefully with her head lowered, "Are you satisfied now, or will you tell me the secret?"
"Of course."
Qin Hao grinned, leaning in to blow lightly on Shirley's neck.
"What are you doing!"
Shirley stepped back, her face a mix of warmth and anger.
She didn't expect him to be so bold in a public setting.
This flirtatious bastard, how daring!
Qin Hao looked innocent, "Your Highness, I'm casting a spell for you."
"Casting a spell? What is that!"
Shirley was incredulous, her anger growing, subconsciously clenching her hands.
She was ready to act like on TV and slap the rogue hard if there wasn't a reasonable explanation.
"This is Eastern witchcraft, similar to your Western divination. Don't worry, now that I've blown some Lucky Qi onto you, whatever doll you grab will be a success."
"Really?"
Shirley was skeptical but still took the coin Qin Hao handed her and inserted it into a claw machine.
Hmph, if it doesn't work, I have to teach this rogue a lesson!
Shirley thought angrily, pressing the button and maneuvering the stick.
Her handling was the same as before, but strangely, the Pikachu in the claw didn't fall halfway. It remained until the claw reached the designated spot, the doll falling right out of the machine.
"What!"
Covering her mouth, Shirley was full of disbelief.
Then, she jumped up in joy, "I caught it, I finally succeeded!"
In her excitement, she opened her arms to move, seeing Qin Hao's face full of enjoyment awaiting, she stopped suddenly.
"Ahem."
With a cough to disguise her nervousness, she regained her lady-like demeanor and said, "I'll try again."
"Don't worry, with my Lucky Blessing Technique, Princess, you'll be unbeatable!"
Qin Hao flattered, pressing a button in his pocket.
Quickly, Shirley repeated her actions and caught two more dolls.
"This is simply too amazing!"
Shirley couldn't help but exclaim, as they say, "third time's a charm," and with three caught consecutively, it surely couldn't be a coincidence.
So, the only explanation must be that what Qin Hao said was real?
With that thought, Shirley gave Qin Hao a complicated look, "Your Eastern witchcraft is truly impressive..."
"Indeed. Another nickname of mine is Eastern Celestial God. Feel free to ask for advice on any troubles, Princess. By the way, I can also read palms, faces, and chests, would the Princess like to try?"
Shirley was familiar with palm and face readings, initially intending to nod and try, but her expression darkened at the mention of chest readings, rebuking angrily, "You scoundrel!"
Qin Hao proudly smiled, "A man who's not bad, is one not loved!"
Unable to retort, Shirley huffed and continued to grab more dolls.
Half an hour later, as Shirley and Qin Hao walked with a heap of dolls, the vendor nearby almost fell in shock.
Damn, after all these years, it's the first time I've seen someone catch dolls to the point of needing a moving company!
"Princess Shirley, I'm supposed to be your bodyguard, not a shopper. Holding so many dolls seems a bit unfair to me, don't you think?"
Behind, Qin Hao was holding a bunch of dolls, looking quite helpless.
Ahead, Shirley, also holding a heap of dolls, smiled non-stop.
Without turning her head, she said, "I don't care. You promised my father to take care of me, so you'll just have to diligently fulfill your duties!"
Speaking, she pouted playfully, adding a hint of familiarity and coquettishness.
After wandering around a bit, they reached the pool area, where a group of children approached, led by a short-haired female teacher.
Seeing Qin Hao and Shirley with so many dolls, the children ran over full of curiosity, eyes wide with eagerness.
"Older brother and sister, you have so many dolls!"
"Older brother and sister, how did you catch them?"
Facing the various innocent faces, Shirley felt very warm and turned back, using her eyes to ask.
Qin Hao translated with a smile, "The kids are asking if you, beautiful sister, are brother's girlfriend? Can we have one of your many dolls?"
"Tch!"
Blushing, Shirley turned away and replied in simple Chinese, "Yes."
Children were puzzled; why did the foreign sister say 'yes'?
But when she handed over a doll, a little girl exclaimed in disbelief, "Sister is actually giving me a gift!"
"Me too, me too!"
Instantly, the other children raised their hands eagerly, and with a happy yet helpless smile, Shirley continuously handed out her dolls.
Two minutes later, Shirley's arms were empty, all the dolls taken.
Yet, due to the many children, some were still without a doll.
"Give them to me!"
Filled with maternal affection, Shirley's expression firm, she turned to Qin Hao.
Qin Hao chuckled, "Princess, do you really want to give them all away? You might have none left for yourself."
"If there are none, then so be it! The adorable children of Huaxia deserve this!"
Shirley said proudly, taking doll after doll from Qin Hao's arms, placing them in the children's hands.
Finally, Qin Hao ran out of dolls too, and all were taken away.
"Princess, even if you call me 'brother' again, I won't help you with the claw machines this time."
Qin Hao said with lingering fear. No way, this woman is as crazy with catching dolls as shopping, only a fool would help again.
Watching the children's innocent smiling faces, Shirley herself smiled sweetly.
