The Sacred Leaves Family's Wishes for Peace

Chapter 470 : Fleeing Against the Odds

Fang Qiufeng's cultivation in the Great Saint Realm far surpassed Hai Yuanbai of the Sea-Flipping Flood Dragon clan. After striking away the other attackers with a single palm, Hai Yuanbai attempted to flee—but Fang Qiufeng seized him effortlessly and stuffed him into a spirit beast pouch.

"Still trying to run? If you weren't of some use, I'd have swallowed you whole."

Greedy as ever, Fang Qiufeng restrained his appetite, recalling Fang Luo's earlier instructions.

This scene enraged the other cultivators attacking the trio. They had planned to use the Sea-Flipping Flood Dragon as bait—only to watch it be taken right from under their noses.

Their leader, Xiang Zhantian, was furious.

"Brazen fools! You dare steal from the Seven Kings City? I'll grind your bones to dust!!"

"Kill them!!"

Of the twenty-six pursuers, eighteen were Great Saint Realm cultivators—many in the mid-to-late stages. Although Fang Luo and Fang Chen could stall them for a short while, the sheer disparity in numbers meant resistance was futile.

Besides, their target was already secured; there was no need for prolonged battle.

"Boom!"

Before departing, Fang Luo unleashed another sword strike. Tens of thousands of sword shadows erupted, blotting out the sky and cutting off their pursuers' path. It bought them a few seconds to flee.

Xiang Zhantian shattered the sword shadows with a roar: "Chase them down! Even if we must dig three feet into the earth, we'll find them!!"

It was only Fang Luo and his companions who could pull this off—any other Great Saint Realm cultivators would have been caught or killed by such powerful enemies.

The trio pushed their escape arts to the limit, fleeing over 600,000 miles without stopping.

Having just resisted the assault of over a dozen Great Saint Realm experts and then fleeing such a great distance at full speed—even they were starting to feel the strain.

Fang Luo casually deployed a few formations, and they paused briefly to rest.

Fang Chen asked curiously, "That arrogant guy said he was from Seven Kings City. Is that place really strong?"

Fang Luo's expression grew heavy. He nodded.

"Seven Kings City is one of the twenty hegemonic powers of the Tianyuan Realm—and ranked in the top three."

Hiss...

Fang Chen and Fang Qiufeng both gasped sharply. Who would've thought—just stealing a dragon would provoke such a monstrous force?

Fang Luo changed tone.

"But don't be too worried. Seven Kings City, at its core, is a massive bandit syndicate formed by seven infamous criminals. The city is full of dangerous elements—rogues who've offended great powers. The ones we saw earlier were likely under one of those seven."

Hearing this, Fang Chen and Fang Qiufeng let out a small sigh of relief.

Fang Chen muttered, "Once we're strong enough, we'll lead the Hidden Dragon Guard and wipe out that damned city!"

Bandit suppression? That's the Fang Family's specialty.

Fang Luo was just about to respond when he sensed something. He stood up and said, "They're catching up. They've likely used a tracking secret art. We can't stay in this minor world—we need to find the exit."

They had initially planned to hunt more beasts with powerful bloodlines here, maybe even find the Beast Taming legacy of the Myriad Beast Sect. But clearly, that was no longer viable.

Just after the trio left the area, Xiang Zhantian and his team arrived.

"Damn it! They got away again! Keep chasing! Even if we have to dig up this minor world inch by inch, we'll catch them!!"

"Also notify the men at the entrance. Have them lay down a Heaven-Net formation to keep those three bastards from slipping away!"

This minor world wasn't as refined as the Fang Family's domain, but it was similarly vast.

Fang Luo and his companions traveled cautiously for over ten days before finally locating an exit.

But just as they flew out of the minor world, Fang Luo's expression darkened.

"Be careful! Something's wrong!"

When they first entered, the surrounding area had been full of cultivators and factions. Now, it was eerily empty—ominous, to say the least.

No sooner had he spoken—

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Brilliant screens of light rose all around. Mysterious runes shimmered in the air, and a colossal, bowl-shaped formation materialized above them.

"A trapping formation!"

Fang Chen, the Treasure Dao cultivator, didn't hesitate—he pulled out a timeworn talisman.

Swish!

A Formation-Breaking Talisman activated with a dazzling glow. A beam of golden light shot toward the formation like a meteor.

Rumble...

The array quaked—but didn't shatter.

Fang Chen's eyes widened.

"What?! This talisman can break any formation below the Emperor Realm—how is this one still intact?!"

Fang Luo pointed to the white jade pillars surrounding them. Each was etched with fierce beasts and intricate runes.

"This is an ancient array. It consumes a tremendous amount of energy and has a limited duration—but within that time, it's indestructible to ordinary means."

It was easy to guess—this was the work of Seven Kings City. As one of Tianyuan Realm's mightiest forces, they certainly had the means.

Fang Chen's voice turned grim. "Looks like we've got no choice but to fight this one out."

The trio each consumed restorative pills, adjusting their states.

Just then, silhouettes began appearing.

Though not as numerous or powerful as Xiang Zhantian's group, all ten were at least True Saints or Great Saints.

"Are these the three punks who stole Brother Tian's prize?"

"Judging from their weapons and aura—it's got to be them."

"Should we wait for Brother Tian's group or strike first?"

"Just hit them. They can't escape the array. If we lose, we retreat—we've got nothing to fear."

With that, they launched their assault.

Fang Luo and his group, aware of their predicament, initially kept their true strength hidden.

When the enemy lowered their guard and drew close enough—

The trio suddenly revealed their fangs and struck—killing three Great Saints in an instant.

"These three are dangerous!! Retreat!!"

The remaining seven tried to flee, but two more were too slow—cut down before they could escape.

In the blink of an eye, half their team was wiped out.

The remaining five backed away, their faces pale with fear, eyes filled with rage.

"Damn it! Those three cunning bastards tricked us—pretending to be weak!"

"We underestimated them. If they could rob Brother Tian and escape, they were never ordinary."

They'd only hoped to score some merit by catching Fang Luo—but their miscalculation cost them dearly.

Thankfully, the ancient formation still held strong. Without it, none of them might have made it out alive.
