Chapter 468 : Before the Hunt, A Match to Make
Western region of the Tianyuan Realm.
"Brother Luo, this is Youzhou," Fang Chen reported.
Fang Luo nodded. "Let's find a place to stay first."
Over the years of traveling, Fang Chen and Fang Qiufeng had mostly followed Fang Luo's lead. They rarely needed to think on their own—Fang Luo planned everything, and they simply followed.
The three arrived in Youzhou's largest city, found accommodations, and then set off separately to gather information.
Fang Luo strolled the streets alone, thoughts racing.
"In my past life, I spent most of my time in Cang Continent, but after becoming a Saint, I did travel to other continents a few times. During one of those journeys, I happened to witness a battle between two Emperor-realm powerhouses from afar. I couldn't get close, but it left a deep impression. One of them was an ancient beast—a Flood Sea Jiao named Hai Yuanbai."
"The Flood Sea Jiao clan was a powerful demon race in the ancient era. Though they declined for various reasons, their bloodline endured. Compared to other jiao clans, Flood Sea Jiaos have a significantly higher chance of transforming into dragons."
"While they're not true dragons, they become celestial beasts—Azure Dragons—after transformation, a sign of immense power and bloodline purity."
"Hai Yuanbai will one day reach the Emperor Realm, but right now he should've just entered the Saint Realm. Soon, someone will find him in the ruins of the Myriad Beasts Sect and bring him out."
"Since we're in Youzhou, where the ruins are located, we should definitely go. If we can capture Hai Yuanbai and bring him into the Fang family, he'll be a tremendous asset."
"Even if we don't, hunting the beasts within the ruins will still make the trip worthwhile."
The city they stayed in was the largest and most prosperous in Youzhou, but it still didn't compare to Ascension City.
Each of the trio gathered information using their own methods and soon returned with results.
Fang Qiufeng said, "Got it. The Myriad Beasts Sect's hidden realm really has appeared. It's in the Ten Thousand Mountains, at the center of Youzhou."
"Let's go," Fang Luo said without hesitation.
The three summoned their Azure Thunder Peng and flew straight toward the region's core.
On the way, Fang Chen casually remarked, "Youzhou lies in the west of Tianyuan Realm, between Yuanzhou and Hangzhou. After we're done here, should we visit Brother Mu and Ying'er?"
Fang Qiufeng's eyes lit up.
Fang Mu Ge was in Hangzhou, at the Xuantian Sacred Sect. Fang Ying was in Yuanzhou's Misty Immortal Palace. The distances weren't far—and they hadn't seen them in decades.
They missed them dearly.
Fang Luo smiled. "Let's see how things go. If time allows, we can go."
Tianyuan Realm was vast. Even with their Great Saint-level strength, travel took time.
"If we visit both, it'll take too long," Fang Qiufeng said. "Let's choose one this time and save the other for later."
"Let's go to Yuanzhou—see Ying'er," Fang Chen decided.
Fang Qiufeng chuckled slyly.
"I hear Misty Immortal Palace only accepts women. All their disciples and elders are like celestial fairies. You sure you're not going to see fairy maidens instead of your sister?"
Fang Chen straightened. "Nonsense! I have a wife! I'd never think like that!"
Then he lowered his voice and glanced at Fang Luo.
"But hey, since both of us are taken… maybe Ying'er can help Brother Luo find a sister-in-law."
Fang Qiufeng's eyes lit up, slapping his thigh. "Why didn't I think of that?! You're brilliant, Brother Chen!"
Fang Luo, overhearing their banter, frowned. "You two seem bored. Should I spar with you to keep you occupied?"
"Ahem… just joking," they said, waving their hands quickly.
As they joked and laughed, their Azure Thunder Peng soared through the sky and arrived in the heart of Youzhou. Towering mountains stretched endlessly, spiritual energy was abundant, and the land teemed with resources and sects.
Every few decades or centuries, a new power would rise here—while old ones faded into history.
The Myriad Beasts Sect had once been the most renowned sect of the Ten Thousand Mountains five thousand years ago. It specialized in beast taming and controlling, and possessed powerful beast-related legacies.
At its height, the sect was guarded by Emperor-realm cultivators and raised beasts with formidable bloodlines.
But in the Tianyuan Realm, only the top twenty factions could maintain enduring dominance. Others would eventually fall.
After a string of setbacks, the Myriad Beasts Sect began to decline.
Then came the scavengers—everyone wanted a piece of the pie. In the end, the sect collapsed.
Before its fall, the sect's ancestral patriarch hid their most valuable treasures in a small world.
Their most priceless assets were their taming techniques and their bloodline-rich beasts.
For tens of thousands of years, countless cultivators had ventured into the Ten Thousand Mountains, hoping to locate the hidden realm. Many even traveled from other continents to try their luck.
Now, the ruins had finally been discovered.
After arriving, Fang Luo's group found a nearby city and entered a tavern. They ordered a jug of wine and a few side dishes.
The tavern staff didn't understand why three grown men would order only one jug of wine—but to them, this local spirit was barely drinkable compared to what they brought from home.
If not for the risk of being thrown out for opening their own wine, they wouldn't have ordered any.
They sat, munching and listening to the conversations around them.
"Why does it feel like the city's more crowded than usual?"
"It's not the city—it's the Ten Thousand Mountains that are packed."
"I heard the Myriad Beasts Sect ruins have been found. Everyone's here for that."
"You mean that legendary beast-taming sect from tens of thousands of years ago?"
"Your news is old. People have already entered the ruins. Rumor has it a flood dragon was discovered!"
"No way! Should we try our luck too?"
"Forget it—I still value my life."
Fang Luo raised a brow.
"Looks like we're a bit late. I wonder if Hai Yuanbai has already been captured or left the ruins..."
Their main goal was Hai Yuanbai and his tremendous potential. The other beasts and beast-taming legacies were secondary.
