Chapter 20: Chapter 20: The Boar’s Demise
The air inside the cave was heavy, vibrating with the intensity of the battle. Dust and debris clouded the dim light as Kuro and Miko prepared to face off against the raging boar. The beast roared in fury, its blood-red aura blazing brighter than ever as it thrashed about, shaking the very walls of the cavern.
Kuro, his orange glow pulsating in rhythm with his heavy breathing, leaped off the boar and landed beside Miko, growling protectively.
Miko stood tall, his golden and blue aura shimmering like a beacon in the gloom. His glowing eyes burned with determination, and his trembling had vanished. He held out his hand, and an ethereal energy blade began to form. The sword radiated golden light with a sharp blue outline, humming with raw power.
The boar roared, pawing the ground with its massive hooves. "You think you can defeat me, little boy?!" it bellowed, charging forward.
Miko dashed to the side with inhuman speed, his movements fluid and precise. He angled his glowing sword in both hands, gripping it tightly. With a sharp sidestep, he maneuvered into a stabbing position mid-run.
With a shout, Miko drove the blade into the boar's side. The beast let out a guttural scream as the blade sank deep into its flesh, cutting through like butter. Without pausing, Miko dragged the sword along the boar's massive frame, leaving a glowing, gaping wound that oozed dark blood.
Kuro seized the opportunity, launching himself at the boar's head. With a ferocious roar, the massive tiger swiped both of its glowing claws down, raking across the boar's eyes. Blood sprayed as the beast howled in agony, now completely blinded.
The boar reared back, thrashing wildly in pain. Kuro leaped away just as the boar stumbled into a wall, shaking the cave. He growled deeply, circling to the other side of the beast. His claws shimmered with orange energy as he activated his Claw Spell, his paws growing larger and sharper, brimming with power.
With a guttural snarl, Kuro slashed at the boar's flank, carving deep, jagged wounds into its side. Blood poured from the creature as it screamed, its movements becoming more frantic.
A Deadly Combination
Miko and Kuro attacked in tandem, their movements synchronized like a deadly dance. Kuro's claws slashed and tore through flesh, while Miko's glowing blade struck precise, devastating blows. The boar was a flurry of pain and rage, unable to keep up with their relentless assault.
Finally, both Kuro and Miko stepped back, their glowing forms radiating with power. The boar shook violently, blinded and covered in deep, bleeding gashes. Its bloodlust only grew as it let out a deafening roar, lowering its head and charging blindly.
The beast's massive tusks smashed into a nearby boulder, wrenching it free. With terrifying strength, the boar hurled the boulder toward Miko and Kuro.
The massive rock barreled through the air, its shadow swallowing the two warriors.
Breaking the Boulder
Kuro's eyes narrowed as his muscles tensed. He let out a powerful roar, activating his Paw Power. His front paws glowed intensely, their energy forming into massive, spectral tiger claws.
The glowing orange claws slammed into the incoming boulder with a thunderous crash, shattering it into countless pieces. But the force of the explosion sent jagged chunks of rock flying in all directions, hurtling toward Miko.
Time seemed to slow.
Miko stood still, his eyes closing as he took a deep breath. When his eyes opened again, they burned brighter than ever. In a blur of motion, he raised his glowing sword and began slashing through the incoming rocks with blinding speed.
Each swing of his energy blade left a streak of golden and blue light, cutting through the boulders effortlessly. The air was filled with the sound of his sword slicing and the faint hum of its energy.
In a matter of seconds, the boulder fragments were reduced to dust. Miko stood unharmed, his glowing sword still crackling with energy.
The Final Blow
The boar, now enraged beyond reason, thrashed about wildly, its massive form shaking the cave. Debris rained from the ceiling, adding to the chaos. Kuro leaped forward again, his glowing paw crashing into the boar's face. The beast screamed as its flesh was torn, its face now a bloody mess.
Miko watched the boar, his eyes narrowing. He knew the time had come to end it.
Raising his sword high, Miko let out a battle cry. The glowing blade began to expand, its aura growing larger and brighter. The golden and blue light enveloped the entire cave, illuminating every corner with its brilliance. The sword now towered above him, a massive weapon of pure energy.
With a burst of speed, Miko charged at the boar. The ground beneath him cracked with every step as his energy surged. At the last moment, he dropped into a slide, pulling his glowing sword back into a striking position.
The blade connected with the boar's underside as Miko slid beneath it. The energy sword carved a glowing line through the beast, cutting cleanly from its head to its belly and back.
The boar let out one final, deafening scream as its massive body split in half. Blood and energy spilled from the wound as the two halves of the creature collapsed to the ground with a thunderous crash.
Miko came to a stop on the other side, standing slowly. He sheathed his glowing sword, which began to fade, and turned to face the carnage. His hair returned to its dark color, and his glowing eyes dimmed.
The Aftermath
The cave was silent, save for the sound of falling debris. Kuro ran to Miko's side, nudging him gently. The boy stumbled, collapsing onto the tiger's back.
Together, they turned to look at the destruction. The entire cave was in ruins. But beyond the cave, the sight was even more staggering.
Mountains in the distance had been sliced cleanly in half, their jagged edges glowing faintly. The forest that surrounded the area was gone, reduced to ashes and rubble. The sheer scale of the devastation left Kuro's eyes wide with shock.
The tiger glanced at Miko, who was unconscious on his back, and thought to himself, Just what kind of power does this boy have?
As the dust settled, the two stood alone in the silence of the shattered landscape.
