Chapter 434: When Things Get Crazy
[HAWI]
"Your mother was truly out of names to have named you Sebastian… but that is not even important right now. Why are you here, Sebastian? Come to see if I'm hoarding more treasure?" Hawi asked with a chuckle.
The thick wooden scent was not even appealing to Hawi and given how she had known the man, there was no way that this was just a treasure hunt. Perhaps the man had been sent by Jer to come after her, but even that was too low for Sebastian.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you, Sicario," Sebastian said, coming out of the bushes in a different direction than the one Malika went through.
Hawi wasn't surprised though, she had known the man so well and she 'hated' his antics. Well, what else could she do when she always found herself with the man in the oddest of places?
If they hadn't been rivals in their hunts, they could have been friends.
"How about you try me?" Hawi asked casually like she was sure the man wasn't an enemy.
"If I did, then I would have to kill you, Sicario," Sebastian said.
"Coming from someone who likes to call himself Seb, I wouldn't be surprised," Hawi said as she walked over to Sebastian and hugged the man like they had been old buddies, which wasn't wrong in any way.
They always helped each other with the hunt one too many times and this was nothing new to them. But what if they knew each other beyond this, would it ever make any sense to them?
Would it ever make life a little more interesting or would heads be forced to roll down the seventy thousand stair steps? It was complicated as hell but there was a way for them to work this shit out, right?
"You reek of sex, Sicario," Seb said and Hawi punched him in the chest casually.
"I told you I would get a mate before you. And I did. I smell like my mate. The lavender is so addicting and she's beautiful as hell. Want an introduction?" Hawi asked proudly, and Seb looked at Malika and then at Ruru like he wasn't sure that was the best of ideas.
"Can I have her?" Seb tested and Hawi growled.
"Just what I thought. I can say hello from here, because I quite like my head on my shoulders, Sicario. I'm happy for you. She sure looks pretty as hell and powerful too. You really always get the best mates," Sebastian said and Hawi looked proud.
She had the best mate and team. Seb didn't know much about her family and her love life so this wasn't worth mentioning to him.
However, Ruru was someone Hawi wanted to show to the world, and who best to do that with other than the rumor peddler in the bounty business? Giving Seb that information would make sure that everyone in their work style steered clear of her Rukiya.
Granted, they were probably worlds apart, and Rukiya Greyson could take care of herself, but Hawi still wanted to make sure her woman was safe.
Ruru wasn't meant to be fighting all the time and was determined to make sure the llama was safe for her mate regardless of what happened along the way.
"Hello… Sebastian," Rukiya greeted, even though she had an odd feeling about the man Hawi was interacting with freely. It was almost like there was a dark aura around the man. But if that was so, Hawi could have already known, right?

If Hawaii was fine with that then Ruru didn't have a reason not to be fine with it. Besides, the man was clearly a warlock and could do whatever he wanted and however, he wanted.
Nothing would stop him, other than Hawi, but from their hug earlier, they seemed to be on good terms with Hawi.
Truly that was what Ruru hoped for because war was something she was starting to hate even though she was an alpha wolf who was always meant to be on the battlefield. Perhaps that was such a good dream for the both of them at the moment, anyway.
"Yeah, you too, Rukiya Greyson," Sebastian said casually and Hawi didn't mind. Bounty hunters always knew each other and a lot that happened in their lives but they've talked about it because the bounty was always the most important thing for them.
Everything else could take a back seat and nothing would be worth ruining that. Perhaps it was an insane analogy but at the end of the day, life was always going to be worth living no matter how hard shit got for them.
"So what bounty are you hunting on this side of the realm? I hear this place is hard to get into. But then you and I got in, so it must not be that hard after all," Hawi shared casually and Sebastian just laughed lightly.
They always did this on their missions. There was a lot of similarity between Sebastian and Hawi that they fit so perfectly as acquaintances. At the same time, it was good to know that there were people that Hawi knew away from their circle.
"We were told it was the greatest treasure of the realm. My people are looking inside the temple. I stayed here because I heard a growl earlier but I should have known it was you. I feel bad for whoever crossed you even if they deserved it," Sebastian chuckled.
He loved the conversation and frankly, anyone could have, it was healthy and soft, almost like everything was going on so well for them.
There was nothing to worry about because at the end of the day, they would have what they came for and then they would all go home.
"That sounds complicated, but I hope you get it anyway. I came to this side because I smelled Jer here. I was hoping to kill him once and for all because of the shit he had put me through and the betrayal of my brother," Hawi said.
Seb sighed like he knew something that Hawi didn't. Then again a closer look at the two and how their conversational tone was slowly changing like they were preparing each other for the worst, it wasn't easy to understand them.
It was like they were complicated in ways that only they could do and it was complex too.
"The mate you swore to burn? That's some wild shit you plan on doing there Sicario. Everyone in the realm knows that and it's crazy. Anyway, I have no business knowing what he did to make it that terrible…
"...But I can only wish his soul safe passage into the afterlife. Besides you have THE Rukiya Greyson as your mate, I don't think you even need Jeremia anymore. Good luck on your hunt, Sicario.
"I'll see you around," Seb said with a smirk as he walked towards the temple.
He looked like the conversation was so light and pretty but at the same time he looked like he was about to shit his pants when he looked into Hawi's eyes. It was almost like he could tell that something had changed about Awuor Sicario.
"Hey, Seb," Hawi called out and the man instantly turned back with a furrowed brow.
"You never call me 'Seb'," the warlock noticed and Hawi just smiled right as Malika threw a punch at the man and knocked him out.
