The Regressor Is The Villain

Chapter 8: New Engagement (2)

"Yoon Murasaki..."

I muttered the name of the fiancée I shouldn't have known as if I knew her.

(...What is this feeling? Sad? Why?)

The moment after I muttered the name, a strong emotion of sadness came over me. A very strong and regretful feeling of sadness.

"You knew her?"

Father asked me in confusion as to how I could know my fiancé's name if I didn't even remember Murasaki's surname.

(I'd like to know too.)

"No, it's just that the name suddenly popped into my head."

"...I see."

Father seemed to be silent for a while as if thinking about something. Do you know something?

"Ahem, so what about it? Do you have any objections?"

At first I thought this engagement would ruin dad's plans but looking objectively it might benefit us plus I was also curious why I knew the name of a fiancé I didn't even know.

But first I need to confirm something first.

"I don't mind, but what about the Royal family? Wouldn't they disapprove?"

For a noble to marry in a different country requires approval by the head of state, it is the law of this entire world. Therefore the Wolfled family needed the approval of the royal family.

The Alyaska Royal Family seems to have a bad relationship with the Yangnam Kingdom plus our relationship with the Royal family is currently very bad. It's only natural that the Royal family would reject an engagement that would help increase our family's power.

"...They agreed to it."

But it seems my assumption was wrong, in fact I just got an answer that I would never have thought of.

"...they approved it?"

I asked father again in a very cold voice with a very angry tone.

"Yes."

Although he answered calmly, I could feel the strong anger in his voice.

Getting approval from the royal family meant that our family was considered harmless and never even considered by the royal family.

For the Wolfled family who had high self-esteem, that treatment could only be considered an insult.

(Bastards! How dare they, the traitor family of mankind dare to insult the Wolfled family's pride... I'll make sure to chop them up in the future.)

I was so angry that I cursed inwardly with my old nature. Even my hand that was clenched into a fist at this moment was bleeding.

"..."

(Zend looks so angry, he must really love his people. It seems like our son has really turned into an adult very quickly.)

Father and mother saw my anger and looked at each other.

"Calm down, my son."

Mother stroked my bleeding hand and healed it with mother's magic.

"Father, I'm ready for this engagement if it's for the sake of your plan."

"...Alright. I'll tell you right away. You'll probably meet your fiancé in the next two or three weeks."

"Okay."

...

Heh, I never thought fate would be so cruel.

Supposedly my perfect plan would not involve the memories of the forgotten episode but fate has never been in accordance with my wishes.

Although I have manipulated so that this episode is very different from the forgotten episode, but the connection with the forgotten episode still cannot be removed.

It looks like the plan of the three of us will have a little obstacle to carry out.

I hope our main plan is not interrupted and I hope you don't experience what I experienced.

For the sake of our Freedom, I wish you all the best, Zend the incarnation of The Chaos.

...

It had been a month since Zend's awakening,

At first Aamon was worried about the effects of his son's awakening which made his body very weak but Aamon was very happy to see that his son did not give up and continued his training as usual.

Over the past month Aamon had seen many changes in his son compared to before. But there was something nagging at the back of Aamon's mind.

(Why was Zend acting like a bad guy?)

Zend's cruel actions towards the maids and butlers in the mansion reached Aamon's ears, at first Aamon was confused as to how Zend who looked mature could be cruel.

Then Aamon began to order the head butler to investigate and found some oddities in Zend's actions. Although Zend committed cruel acts, they were never really called cruel as if they were just provocations to make the maids and butlers hate him.

Because of Zend's strange actions, one day Aamon asked Zend during dinner.

"Zend, why are you making the maids and butlers hate you?"

"!!!"

Then Zend looked very surprised but his expression quickly calmed down.

"What are you talking about? I'm just saying what I think."

"I see..."

In the end, Aamon could only believe Zend's words. After all, it was not uncommon for traits to change after Awakening. Even when Aamon first Awakened, he also often spoke harshly to anyone and even his memory was a little messed up. So Aamon thought that Zend's actions were a normal phenomenon.

Aamon watched his son walk out of the room with a bit of concern as his skin looked pale.

"Sebas."

After Aamon said the name, a darkness came out of Aamon's shadow revealing the appearance of an old man in butler's clothes.

That man was Sebastian, Aamon's personal butler.

"Sebas has come to see you, sir."

"You don't need to be formal like that old man. Just talk as usual."

"Haha, I see."

Sebastian was a butler who had served since Aamon's father and could be said to be Aamon's teacher. Hence the relationship between the two was very close.

"Sebas, accompany my son. He looks so pale that he might faint at any moment."

Sebas then looked at Zend who was no longer there and nodded his head.

"Indeed, young master's heartbeat is very chaotic."

"Is that so."

Sebas' words were strange enough to know Zend's heartbeat especially since Zend was very far away from the room at the moment but Aamon trusted Sebas' judgment.

"But I didn't expect you to care about your son."

"What does that mean."

"Of course you should know what I mean. People who are full of ambition and willing to sacrifice anything for their goals change drastically after having a child."

"...I haven't changed. It's just that there's something more valuable than my ambition. You should be able to know this feeling after you have a child."

"Heh. It's a pity that this old man isn't compatible with something like affection."

"Yes, yes. Don't talk so much and go watch my son immediately."

"Understood."

Sebas then instantly melted into darkness and disappeared from the room.
