Chapter 11: Mission (2)
The place I went to was called "Ruskelka", one of the villages closest to the border wall with the abyss. It was 4 days away by horse-drawn carriage from the Wolfled family mansion.
Even so, Ruskelka village had a very large number of residents. After all, Ruskelka was the residence of the family members of the soldiers guarding the border wall with the abyss.
So Ruskelka village was one of the safest villages in the Wolfled teritory. But that changed recently because an Alpha monster managed to break through the wall and massacre the villagers of Ruskelka.
Although it took some casualties but thanks to father's appearance, the Alpha monster was successfully eliminated without taking any more casualties.
Those were the details of the report I received about Ruskelka village which would be the site of my first mission.
After finishing reading the report, I looked out the window. The scenery outside had already turned to snow, cold air began to frequently enter the carriage.
Although the Wolfled region is very cold but this air is too cold for my frail body. If I didn't wear a warm cloak, I would really die from the cold.
If it were to be compared to the earth, I would be at the south pole right now. The temperature levels of this world and the earth are vastly different, which is probably why humans in this world have strong bodies compared to the earth.
Perhaps children in the Wolfled teritory can even fight adult athletes on earth. Even when I first arrived on earth, I was surprised at how easy it was to move and breathe. But what surprised me was the absence of Ether and Mana on Earth.
I don't remember the area of this planet but it's probably bigger than earth even so the gravity here is much heavier than earth's gravity. Well, the point is that living in this world is an achievement for me who once lived a relaxed life on earth.
(Even though it was very good on earth, this is still the best for me. Besides, earth was too boring, I would be arrested if I killed someone, even as strong as I was on earth, without Ether and Mana, I could easily be killed with a firearm.)
I've always liked chaos since I was a kid, that's why I don't really like earth which is very peaceful.
While thinking such things, the train stopped at a large house. This was both a stopping post and a resting post.
The driver opened the window and started talking.
"Young master, we will rest here. The horses are getting tired plus I heard from the magician here that there will be a snowstorm soon."
"Hmph, it's up to you."
"Fine."
The cursor looked confused by my response but seemed to get the point.
(It's a good thing that this guy is quite capable, if it was anyone else I would have thought I didn't like it and insisted on continuing the journey. Speaking like a criminal is very troublesome at a time like this.)
It's been 2 days of traveling without a break, no matter how great the horses of the Wolfled region are, they will definitely be exhausted moving 2 days with this cold temperature.
I quickly got off the carriage and entered the stop post. It's not very luxurious inside but it has what's necessary for a long journey.
As I walked around, Erlan appeared in front of me. I slightly raised my eyebrows in displeasure, this time it wasn't acting but I really didn't like Erlan's actions.
Obstructing and stopping a noble is considered rude, but I'm not someone who cares about such things. The reason I'm unhappy is how Erlan casually blocks me without fear as if I'm being underestimated.
"How dare you block me, commoner."
I spoke in a very cold tone and added a bit of a murderous aura. Instantly Erlan's shoulders jerked in surprise.
(W-what the hell is this horrible killing aura? B-how can an arrogant boy like him have such a strong killing aura.)
Erlan was a man who was unfit to be a squad leader, not only because of his lack of talent but also because of his bad temper.
Erlan was always causing trouble with other squads, and he was even notorious for how cowardly he was on the battlefield. Erlan in the Wolfled region was notorious as a parasite as well as hated by most of the Wolfled region's soldiers.
If it wasn't for Signe, the red-haired barbarian woman, not wanting to be the leader, Erlan would have been kicked out of the Squad by now.
Previously, Erlan who was having free time due to punishment suddenly received a mission from Aamon Wolfled to accompany his son to complete a mission.
Although reluctant, Erlan had to do it because of Aamon's direct orders. Erlan heard rumors about Zend from the maids and butlers at the mansion and thought that Zend was an arrogant and cruel boy but that thought changed this time.
(An aura of killing...that...is so horrible...)
Erlan's vision started to become blurry, when Erlan was about to faint, Zend immediately stopped his killing aura but it seemed like Erlan had already fainted first.
(What the hell is this guy? How could he faint from such a small killing aura? How can someone like him still live in Wolfled territory.)
I looked at the man named Erlan with a gaze like looking at trash. Really, how can a person with such a weak mentality still exist in my territory.
Although it was annoying to see Erlan who had fainted, but what was even more annoying was the person who had been watching from behind the wall.
"How dare you hide yourself in front of your master right now. Why don't you come out, bitch."
"He~ young master is aware huh?"
A woman with red hair appeared, a barbarian woman named Signe. Signe smiled seductively at me as if seeing delicious prey.
"You're a barbarian but know how to hide yourself, are you an outcast."
Upon hearing the word 'outcast' from my mouth, Signe's smile turned cold.
"Do the young and old know the outcasts of the barbarians."
"Of course, outcasts to the barbarians are people who break their tribal rules. There are those who practice black magic, those who commit massacres and many other horrible crimes."
"Right, as the young master said. I am an outcast like them. Are the old and young now afraid of me?"
"Are you underestimating me? How could I be afraid of you, I'm not afraid of anyone. So stop talking nonsense and tell me what you have violated to become an outcast, this is an order from your new master."
Hearing Zend's bold words, Signe saw that Zend was really not afraid of her. Signe smiled at Zend's courage and started talking about the sins he had committed.
...
Sebas came out of the shadows and asked Aamon.
"Is it okay to send that squad to help the young master?"
"It's fine, even if they're not so good compared to the other squads. They are quite an experienced squad. Plus that barbarian woman named Signe is very strong. Ah, if I'm not mistaken you recruited her, right?"
"Yes, I brought that woman. She has become an outcast, but what she violated was not a capital offense, so I recruited her."
Aamon remembered about how Sebas suddenly brought the woman named Signe to him.
Aamon had originally wondered what rules the woman had broken but stopped considering it must be a private matter plus Sebas said it was not a dangerous offense so Aamon recruited her without knowing what rules Signe had broken.
"Yes, although I don't know what she broke, but your decision to recruit her was not wrong. She did a very good job."
"Yes, she is good but that just makes me even more worried about the young master."
"What does that mean?"
"Signe, that woman is a shotacon."
