The Real Harry Potter

Chapter 136: Harry's Slytherin Tactics

The first class that Harry had to enter when he got back was charms class, he wasn't sure if the people in his year had heard he was back yet, but he decided to just act as if nothing had happened. He quietly entered the class and saw Tracy and Daphne sat at the back of the classroom, the only empty spot in the class was on Tracy's right so Harry walked over and saw down on it. Tracy and Daphne turned to him and blinked in surprise, though Harry pretended not to notice as he had quickly began getting his books out. He turned to the two wide eyed girls after a minute or so.

"Is there something on my face?" Harry asked innocently. A second later Tracy had pulled him into a hug, Harry looked a bit surprised and felt like Daphne was probably stopping herself from getting out of her seat and doing the same thing. A few seconds later Tracy let go and blushed slightly, Harry was about to respond when he felt a ton of eyes on him, he looked around and saw everyone in the class including Professor Flitwick was looking at him. "What?" Harry asked, feigning ignorance.

The majority of the Slytherin's looked like they had just sucked a particularly bad lemon, Malfoy looked kind of like Snape, in that he looked constipated and angry beyond words that he was constipated. A slight hint of fear could be seen in a few of them though as they recognized that Harry was able to not only kill many death eater but also fight off you-know-who and his heir. Add to that to his already impressive list of accomplishments and Harry's reputation was starting to build up.

It was a very different situation with the Gryffindors, for example three of Harry's roommates were glad he was back and happy that he survived, plus they were also very disappointed that Harry was not the one teaching the DA. Because Cedric Diggory was definitely a great wizard, but he was no Harry Potter, nor had he done as many things as Harry had. The girls looked at him with surprised eyes that held a hint of desire, more so in some than others. Ron and Hermione on the other hand looked smug, very smug.

"Mr Potter..." Professor Flitwick said, looking beyond happy. "I am glad beyond words that you are back! When did you get here?"

"A short while ago Professor Flitwick," Harry answered. "I had spent last night at my Godfather's' home and arrived about partway into first period. But by the time first period was nearly over so I just headed to the Gryffindor common room before coming here."

"You are perfectly alright, aren't you Mr Potter?" Professor Flitwick asked.

"I'm doing great." Harry smiled.

"Wonderful," Professor Flitwick beamed. "now I..."

"So are you still going to say that you-know-who is not back?" Ron interrupted as he spoke loudly, he and Hermione grinned at Harry, Harry realized now why Ron and Hermione looked so happy, they were just glad that they were proven right.

"I am not really sure what you mean." Harry said with fake confusion, though it was convincing enough for the class to believe.

"Don't lie, you said that you-know-who was not back." Hermione said.

"I don't recall saying that." Harry frowned in deep thought. "I've never publicly stated that you-know-who was back, nor have I ever publicly stated that he was not." Harry added with a small shrug.

"If you thought he was back then you would have told everyone." Ron argued.

"Undoubtedly." Harry agreed with a small nod, surprising the red head. "If, I repeat, If I believed he was back then I would have told everyone. Like I told the Minister and Dumbledore, last year in the graveyard I had only saw Peter Pettigrew."

"The headmaster had told you that you-know-who was back." Hermione said.

"Yes, but the headmaster also dresses in ridiculous robes, placed me with abusive muggles, failed to stop me from being put in the Triwizard tournament and attacked me with a wandless spell in the middle of a fight between him, myself and Voldemort..." Harry paused to allow the people their time to shiver, he barely stopped himself from eyerolling. "and his heir." Harry continued. "Forgive me if I was not willing to tell false truths to the public and Minister of Magic on the word of a school headmaster." Hermione realized that Harry had a point there, so she decided to try a different approach.

"What about Quirrell?" She asked.

"What about him?" Harry raised an eyebrow.

"He was possessed by Voldemort," Hermione smirked. "that means that you knew he was alive ever since first year."

"Hmm, yeah but...no." Harry shook his head. "That wasn't Voldemort." Harry lied, he would later look back on this with a pensive and admire his skills at deceit.

"What do you mean that wasn't Voldemort?!" Ron said as he and Hermione looked at him as if he had just grown two more heads and declared himself to be Professor Snape's biological sister.

"Quite simply that he was not there, nor was he possessing Quirrell." Harry shrugged.

"What do you mean?" Dean Thomas, one of Harry's Gryffindor roommates, asked.

"Well as far as I am aware everyone in the school was told that at the end of my first year I tried to stop Professor Quirrell from stealing a priceless artifact and ended up in the hospital wing, am I right?" Harry asked and several people nodded. "Well that is true, but when I fought off Quirrell he was possessed by somebody else. The person claimed to be Voldemort," Harry revealed, not even pausing to allow people to flinch. "and at the time I had truly thought it was Voldemort but I then did some research and found out that many people have claimed to be Voldemort throughout the years since his supposed demise. I also checked if it's possible for dead people to possess other people and it turns out that dead people cannot posses wizards and witches because they have so little magic compared to living people. Plus if it really was then the headmaster would have told people instead of keeping it secret." Harry added, he saw people were thinking hard on his words.

"Well what about second year?!" Ron demanded. "that diary had possessed..."

"That young girl," Harry cut him off before he could reveal exactly who the diary had possessed, while it was known that Harry had saved someone in second year it was not known beyond a few people that that person was Ginny. Ron realized what Harry had just done and for a second looked grateful. "Well if you look at your wording then you would remember that the 'diary' possessed a young girl, and that the diary claimed to belong to a young Tom Riddle Junior which happened to be the name that Voldemort had while at school." Harry said, knowing that many would hear about this and end up trying to look up the name. "Voldemort is famous for his knowledge of the dark arts, it was not beyond possible for him to make something that can possess a person. But finding his evil diary is about as much proof of him being back as finding his old teddy bear." Harry said before turning back to Professor Flitwick. "Now Professor Flitwick, may we please continue with the lesson?"

"Uh...yes, yes of course, so long as there are no more interruptions." Professor Flitwick said as he gave everyone in the class a warning look, though for some reason or the other his gaze stayed on Hermione and Ron longer than the others.

"Nicely played." Tracy whispered to him.

"I may be a Gryffindor but I am the most Slytherin Gryffindor you'll find." Harry grinned as he whispered back to her.
